  • I completely agree with all 10 points. We tend to focus on what we are not achieving instead of what we actually are achieving.
  • Hi Debbie, I have found with weight loss we always try to fix what we eat first, which seems to make sense, but sometimes it doesn't matter how much you try it just doesn't work. Sometimes we have to look at how we feel and once we understand ourselves all of the other stuff seems to be much easier. I also made the mistake…
  • Before I even started I wrote down everything I ate in a day, after a couple of days I was amazed at the amount for food and calories I had consumed, it made me accountable for what I was eating. I slowly started to make better food choices and kept on keeping track of what I was eating. I also started walking 10 minutes a…
  • Hello, Some weeks are good and some are not so good. I actually fell off the wagon for a week but I'm now focused again. I always did cardio and not much strength training, now it's the opposite, my weight loss is slow but I'm keeping it off and feeling great. Apparently, weight training burns calories for longer and as…
  • I am 5ft 3 and my calories intake is 1230. I find that if I make the right nurtrition choices it is easy to stick to, you also get extra calories for logging exercise. I do both cardio and weight training, the cardio is good for my general fitness and helps with the extra weight around my tummy and the weight training…
  • Well done! I am working towards the same goal.

  • You look terrific! I have found that the best part about loosing weight is looking good and feeling better.
  • Our bodies are amazing it will always tell us what it need and when we need it just have to listening carefully and make the right choices. I try to focus on making sure the meal I 'm eating is a healthier choice rather than how many calories it has.
  • Congratulations on becoming a healthier you. I am still on the way to my ideal weight and I often fall off the wagon but I keep on getting back on and keep moving. I have joined the gym and have started to 6 week challenge to help keep me motivated. Wish me luck!
  • Congratulations! It just goes to show that hard work and determination really does pay off. My weight loss has been slow (which is a little disappointing) but I feel stronger and healthier every day. Keep up the great work.
  • Congratulations! All the hard work is worth it so you can feel great from the inside out.
  • I'm in. I would like to loose about 15kg (not sure what that is in pounds). I am from Melbourne - Australia.
  • I feel the same, I am 5ft 4 I have been told that I can get down to 57 kilos and still be healthy, which I believe is way to thin. My goal is to reach 65 kilos which makes me a hell of a lot thinner than now.

  • Okay.... you can also track your progress by measurements and take into account that you weight may fluctuate a little before and after your period. My weight only fluctuates by a few hundred grams.
  • I generally don't worry about it, I weigh myself once a week on a Monday. If you are concerned about your period affecting your weight maybe you should weigh yourself once a month instead.
  • Good luck on both loosing weight and getting pregnant.
  • Congratulations! Good luck on your journery.

  • I'm not sure why weight training doesn't count. But good luck with your weight loss journey, all of our experiences are different but we all strive for the same thing - to feel good about ourselves.
  • Welcome and good luck!

  • When I go away for the weekend my main aim is to have a great time, but, I do make sure I go for a walk and then get back on track when I get home.
  • If feel exactly the same. But I guess its better to start again tomorrow and give it another go than not start again at all.
  • Good luck!
  • I hear you! I've been attempting to loose weight since I had my first child 10 years ago. Since finding MFP and using the food tracker I have more knowledge of what I'm eating. The weight loss is really slow but my motivation has been awell. I'm going back to the gym this week to start again. Again!
  • I love running aswell. I can't do it as often as I would like though. I think you should do what feels right and makes you happy.
  • I poach me eggs in boiling water and serve on toast with a sprinkle of soy sauce. I know it sounds yuk, but I love it. I think I like to soy sauce because I love vegemite and they are both quite salty.
  • I was the same, started drinking diet drinks until I did some research into the ingredients. I still have a fizzy drink every now and then but now I buy soda water and add a little cordial. It's yummy.
  • Welcome! I'm not sure how to make the additions that you are asking about, but, when you complete your calorie intake for the day a message will appear that will tell you approximately how much you will weigh in 5 weeks. You can either make comments on your homepage or you can send private emails to friends. Good luck on…
  • Welcome from me. This site enables you to take control of your eating. Initially use the calories counter as a guide so you can see where you are making bad food choices. Knowledge is power.
