Hey everyone! I'm Sara from Seattle - grew up in Spokane (will steal someone else's line - feels like a great place to be *from*). I love everything about Seattle and I don't understand why everyone doesn't live here ;). Happy to meet you all!

Yay, I'm glad you joined! I just ordered Alissa Cohen's Raw Food For Everyone, I'm really excited about it. Hopefully we'll see some more peeps on here!

Definitely "Let me check how many calories I have left for today." "No thanks, I brought my own lunch." "Can't wait to get to the gym tonight!" "Man, I'm really craving a salad." (was just saying this to a coworker!) "Yum, kale!"

I use a regular old ball - I got the biggest size I could, 70 cm. I really like it, and when I'm out of the office some of my officemates borrow it. Sometimes when I'm at my desk a lot I play music and definitely bounce, I can't say I've had any major improvements or how it has helped me, but recently I went back to using…

That's awesome! I love how yoga always provides opportunities to improve.

Looks delicious!

I would love a copy of your menu! I'm juice fasting now but plan to transition to a raw diet afterward. If you could email me at margaret dot crockett at gmail dot com that would be great!!

Bump. I'm interested in this, as I like doing juice fasting (which I understand is completely different). I'm still feeling skeptical, but I will keep doing my research :)

It gets better once your system adjusts to it - I promise! And don't give up, we should be eating mostly fruits and veggies to get the nutrition our systems need. Maybe bring some air freshener or some scented oil and reeds to work to mask the scent for a few days?

Yay for juicing for sure. I did a 6 day juice fast recently and really loved it.

Welcome (all of you!) I've been here over 3 months now, it's great!

Welcome!

Lots of restaurants post their caloric intake stuff on their website, plan before you go :)

I can tell you that I've been dealing with some grief and family stress lately and it has been much harder to watch what I eat. So, I don't have any advice for you but good luck! I know you can do it. Just set new habits and take care of yourself, like I'm sure your mum would want.

I second the patches. Only thing that has worked for me, and is now (pretty much) working for me again.

I eat corn on the cob one row at a time. I started eating it this way when I had braces as a kid, and it's very efficient. :)

Tofu is great to blend into things - it doesn't really have a flavor so you wouldn't notice it in soups. I made an awesome vegan ceasar dressing once with silken tofu.

I like the kashi cereals the best, with added fruit and a little soy most of the time :)
-
That's great! Glad to hear you made it :)

Yes, watermelon juice is delicious!

Great, I'd love to chat more with you guys! So far the recipes I have made are the mean green juice, the sweet n tart citrus, the ABCs, the minty-fresh berry, and the spinach-fennel-cucumber. My fridge is totally full of produce and little jars of juice now!

Thanks, I watched that a while back! It pretty much inspired me. In other news, I just made 1600 calories of juice for tomorrow, and it is *SO MUCH JUICE* !! I don't think it will be possible to drink that much. Have other people kept track of calories consumed while juice fasting? What did you aim for?
-
I'm so happy for you! Planning on doing my first one in November :)
-
Anyone on this thread still juicing? I'm starting tomorrow, looking for support :)
-
That's not silly at all! Congrats!

If you are doing a lot of hot yoga you are probably building/tearing down muscles which can make weight plateau. Have you taken measurements? How are your clothes fitting?
-
Congratulations!!! I'm on week 3, and it's great to know that people actually finish :) Inspiring!

Great job! I'll think of your success tonight when I'm puffing away through my 3 minute jog :)
