Switching from Fitbit to Garmin
I got a Garmin FR35 for Christmas. I have been using a Fitbit One. I am in maintenance. I have my activity level set to active. Should I change these settings? I'm not really sure what to set my activity to on Garmin. I do yoga 5 days a week for about 30 minutes and I run 4 times a weeks. Any advice?

Question about syncing fitbit and mfp and using TDEE
I am trying to be in maintenance. I reached my goal weight in July of 2016, but I have continued to lose (and lowered my goal about 15 pounds) since then. I have determined that my Fitbit One is underestimating my calories by approximately 200 calories per day because when I eat what fitbit says I'm burning I continue to…

Fitbit, map my run and map question.
I have a fitbit one that is synced with mfp. I log all of my food on mfp and all of my exercise on fitbit. This has been working well for me although fitbit does seem to underestimate my calorie burn by about 200-250 calories per day. I have been using the fitbit app on my phone to track my runs. There have been a few…

What should I do after I finish C210K?
I am a new runner. I started with C25K in October and then I moved on to C210K. I have 2 days left on C210K. I don't really know what my goal should be from here. I am really enjoying my run days and I would like to keep it up. I don't know if I should start half marathon training or not. Running for an hour is kind of a…

Question about setting maintenance calorie goal
I know I am overthinking this. I am trying to maintain, but I have lost 10 pounds since I hit my goal in July. My fitbit estimates that I burn 1850 calories per day. But when I eat 1850 calories I still lose slowly. I really like the idea of using the NEAT formula and eating more on days I burn more. So I have always used…

Flipbelt question
I am thinking about getting a Flipbelt. I'm not really sure what size to get. The small says waist 26-29 and the medium says 29-32. The small says unstretched is 26" and stretched is 26". The medium says 28" unstretched and 38" stretched. My waist is 28" and my hips are 35". I would probably wear it just below my navel but…

Have you found your maintenance calorie goal to be higher than the calculators?
Have any of you found that your maintenance calories have turned out to be higher than you expected and higher than what the calculators give you? I have my fitbit synced to mfp and I try to eat back all of my adjustment. I do like the idea of eating more on days I am more active so I like using the mfp method of a daily…

How we perceive ourselves versus how we really look.
I wasn't sure where to post this. A while back I saw a really neat link to a comparison photo. You looked at a lineup of women and guessed which one you most looked like. Then you entered your actual measurements and it showed you which one you actually were closest to in size. Does anyone remember that or know where I can…

Question for runners
I just recently finished the C25k app. I haven't run a 5k yet but I am looking for one in my area. My question is about warming up. The app has you start each run with a 5 minute brisk walk. When you run a 5k how do you warm up? And how do you warm up in general when you are just going on a run? I am planning to continue…

Struggling to find maintenance calories
I have been on maintenance since July 25, 2016. But in that time I have lost 5.4 pounds, so obviously I am not maintaining. That is only a .39 per week rate of loss, but I am now officially under my maintenance range. I'm kind of driving myself crazy trying to figure out the numbers. I have mfp set to maintain at sedentary…

When to change your maintenance calorie goal
I reached my goal at the end of July and so far I have been at my maintenance range of 135 +/- 3 pounds. I have gone as high as 137 and spend a lot of time at 135 but I'm starting to go down. This morning I was 131.4 which is below my range. Last week I did "bank" a lot of calories because we went out of town for the labor…

I reached my goal weight! Now on to maintenance.
I reached my goal of losing 60 pounds. I'm pretty excited about it and a little nervous about maintenance. But I plan to keep logging and have a range of about 5 pounds from my goal weight. I really love mfp. It really has made weight loss pretty easy. Just thought I'd share as I really love reading the success stories of…

Question about tracking weight in maintenance.
I finally reached my goal weight and switched to maintenance. I am a daily weigher and I track my weight on Libra. While I was losing weight I tracked on Libra daily and only logged losses on mfp. My question is when you are on maintenance do you still log your weight in mfp? I was thinking about just logging it weekly on…

When did you switch to maintenance?
My goal weight is 135. I am planning to have a maintenance range of 135-140. I have gotten down to 141, although today I am at 142. My question is when to transition from a deficit to maintenance? I have a deficit of 250 right now, but I sometimes have a larger deficit than that if I don't eat back all of my fitbit…

I'm looking for a good, low calorie salad recipe.
I'm going to a salad luncheon next week where we are supposed to bring our favorite salad. Last year I just took a fruit tray but this year I wanted to bring a salad. I just figure there will be plenty of macaroni salads and jello salads so I was looking for something different that would still be low calorie. Any one have…

I finally have a normal BMI!
I stepped on the scale this morning and my BMI is finally in the normal range. I know a lot of people think BMI is BS, but I'm pretty excited. I still have 13 pounds to get to my GW, but I know I can do it. I started out obese and now I am a normal weight.

Cleaning running shoes
I dumped a full cup of coffee over and it landed in my shoes. Really it just landed in one shoe but it splashed in the other. Is there any way to clean them other than blotting them with a wet towel?

I'm not sure where to start with lifting or strength training.
I have never been athletic or even very fit. I started on mfp at the end of Sept 2015 at 195 pounds, height 5' 4.75" and age 47. I am now 48 years old and down to 150 pounds. My GW is 135 pounds. So far the only exercise I do is I walk every day for about 3.5 - 4 miles and I do have a yoga dvd that I sometimes do. I do…

Fitbit Calories
I just got my Fitbit last week. I am logging all of my food into mfp and all of my exercise into Fitbit. Since there have been some sync issues I just want to make sure I understand how the Fitbit calories work. So far I have been under target every day but one. The days before I started using my Fitbit all show 1393…

Understanding Fitbit calorie calculations
I just got my Fitbit last week. I am logging all of my food into mfp and all of my exercise into Fitbit. The days before I started using my Fitbit all show 1393…

Fitbit calorie adjustment
How much if any of your Fitbit calorie adjustment do you eat back? I got a Fitbit One this week. I have been eating back about 75% of my exercise calories and losing 1.4 pounds per week. Should I eat back the same amount of the Fitbit calorie adjustment? My calorie goal is 1300 and I usually end up eating about 1500…

Shoe question
I started walking for exercise in October. I got some new shoes at the time and they are already worn out. I need to get some new ones but I want to get good shoes this time. I don't really run, but I have been thinking about working up to running some. I don't know if I should get running shoes or walking shoes. I know it…

Fitbit One set up questions
I just got my fitbit one and turned it on and synced it to mfp. I have not set my stride length yet. The fitbit shows I have 4697 steps today. I just took it out of the box and set it up a few moments ago. I'm not even sure where I go or how to set up the stride length. Should it already be showing steps when it is still…

Getting a Fitbit
I just ordered a Fitbit One. I'm so excited. I'm a little nervous about syncing with mfp. I want to make sure I do it right. Right now the exercise I do is walking 3-4 miles a day at about 3 mph. I also do a yoga video 3-4 times a week. I have mfp set to sedentary and I eat back about 75% of my exercise calories. I've read…

Fitbit opinions
I am thinking about getting a fitbit. I'm looking at the flex or the one. I'd like to hear from people who have had either (or both) and get the pros and cons. I don't really know if I would rther have the wrist version or one that could be hidden. I'm also interested in the sleep tracker and I wonder if it is really…

Blisters from walking
I started walking in October. I had some blisters when I first started out but they got better. I kind of figured some of the blisters were from new shoes. But now all of a sudden I'm getting blisters again. I have one on my heel and one on the ball of my foot and a couple on my toes. What are some good ways to prevent…

Question about macros
I'm having trouble getting enough protein. Some days my macro percentages are ok but I am still under my daily goal of protein. Is it more important to hit the daily protein goal or to have the macro percentage correct?

Do you tell people in your real life that you are trying to lose weight?
Do you find it motivates you to let people know you are working on your weight? I don't really talk about my weight or my goals to anyone. I really didn't even want to tell my husband I was trying to lose weight, but it is hard not to tell someone you live with that you are watching your weight when you are weighing your…
