Stomach pain and headaches after drinking "hoppy" beers?
I have been experiencing some bizarre, painful symptoms after drinking any hoppy beer lately. Let me start by saying my fiancé and I spend a few days a month at our local brewery working the tours, we have a beer cellar, and we home brew. So beer is/was a normal part of our life. The last few months, I have significantly…

2 PRs yesterday!
I have NEVER been able to do a handstand, even as a kid. After working on it once last week during skill, I decided that would be my focus during open gym yesterday. 45 mins later <handstand! Next up, handstand pushups :) Also, I PRd my back squat by 25lbs, making it 200lbs!

Halfway through Whole30 and experiencing bloating...help?
So I am wrapping up day 17 of my first whole30 and have had an amazing experience this far. However, the past 3-4 days have been a little "off" in the bathroom (sorry TMI) and yesterday and today I am bloated as in I could have a human being in my tummy. I have been 100 compliant with my foods. Anyone have ideas? I believe…

Whole30-Starting Sunday 3/17/13
Hi! I am in major need of a kick in the butt with my eating habits. I successfully lost 45 pounds since last June, but have abandoned most my healthy eating habits the past month and have suffered from terrible stomach aches, acne and rashes since. I am running my first half marathon tomorrow and starting my first Whole30…

Size 14W wedding dress to an 8 - BAM!
I originally bought this dress last April in a size 14W...which was snug. In late June, I had lost about 20 pounds and the 14W was feeling loose, so I did a size exchange. I was a 12 at the time, but went for a 10, hoping I would fit into that by this August. A couple weeks ago I tried on my 10 and even that was loose!…

resolve: a firm determination to do something
I am doing my "new year" post and setting forth my goals a little earlier than most. Partly because I want to set myself apart from the flood of people that make ridiculous, outlandish, unsustainable new years resolutions that they fail to keep, and partly because I can feel myself getting a bit too comfortable and lax…

I owe my success to Couch to 5k!
I just have to say for those just starting off, I cannot recommend a better way to get started running. I followed the program twice...the first time I had to stop a couple weeks in due to terrible shin splints and the wrong kind of shoes. Once I was properly outfitted, I was able to complete the program, and can now…

Completed the 20 minute run in Week 5 :)
I have been struggling with shin splints due to old shoes. Got my Asics yesterday and hit the treadmill today. I can't believe I actually made it 20 minutes without stopping, but I did and could have gone longer! Good luck to everyone!!

25 pounds down, dress taken in from size 20 to 10!
This is a success story and NSV all in one! Over the course of the past few months I have lost 25 pounds, many many inches and several dress sizes. I finally realized how much my body has changed when I picked up the bridesmaid dress I ordered a few months back (in a size 20) and it was falling off my body!! I took it to a…

20 pounds down-Progress pictures!
I look through theses message boards almost daily for inspiration. I finally figured out how to do the proper sized before and after pictures, so here are some of my progress pictures. I started June 1 at 200 pounds, and I am now at 178. The second set of photos were taken at 180. I still have 50 pounds to go in order to…

NSV-Exchanging my Size 14W wedding dress for a size 10!
Today we stopped by my in-laws which is where I've been storing my wedding dress I bought two months ago. When I originally bought it, it fit perfectly, maybe even snugly. Today I had the itch to try it on and it was so big I could fit my whole hand/fist between the dress and my body and it was falling off! I called the…

200 to 185 in one month!
I want to share my success over the last 30 some odd days, because I can hardly believe it is true! My last semester of college I put on 22 pounds. Over the last month, I have lost 15 of those pounds! I have been religiously logging everything I eat on MFP, making sure I am active each day, and turning to these message…

how the heck do i say under my sugar goal??
As a habit, I do not eat candy or "sweets", but I do try to get my fruit in every day. I am finding that two servings of fruit and a tiny bit of jam are putting me well over my sugar limit, and I find that extremely frustrating. I love my veggies, but I need fruit too! Suggestions? Anyone else have similar issues? Should I…

What is everyone's weekly grocery list/must haves?
So I am curious, what does everyone's weekly grocery list look like? I end up going twice a week, a big one on the weekends and a second one to grab more fresh fruit and veggies. Comparing lists may help us come up with new ideas! My must haves: Bananas Greek yogurt Grape Nuts Mixed greens Onions Carrots chicken breasts…

NSV-Size 10 instead of size 14
I woke up late this morning (missed by workout), threw on a pair of pants and ran out the door. I have a couple pairs of size 14 work pants, several size 12 (my normal weight from 2009-2011) and one pair that are size 10. I just went to the bathroom and realized I had grabbed my size 10s and they are just a tiny bit snug…

Couch to 5k and Jillian Michaels 30 day shred?
I am on level 2 of Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and am thinking of starting the couch to 5k program to get a bit more exercise in. However, I am super sore after a 2 mile jog/walk yesterday. Will this soreness go away?? Or should I stick to just one?

Starting New
Hello everyone! I am finishing my last semester of college and am ready to rid myself of the bad eating habits I developed as a result of stress and always being on the go. I have completely cut out all fast food and am focusing on getting sufficient protein and staying relatively close to my daily goal. Ultimately I would…
