Tracking Steps with the Apple watch
Hey all, When I had my iPhone 5s I was able to set MFP up so my Apple watch instead of my iPhone tracked my Steps. I don't know if it's because I upgraded to the iPhone 6 or if its because I updated my watch to Watch OS2, but I no longer can set up MFP to use my watch to track my steps. Can someone help?

walking/running/intervalling with pets
So, I tend to walk/run/interval with my dog, who is a big boy (70lb lab mix). When we're on mile 2 and his tough is lolling out the side of his face, I know he's thirsty. I don't often carry water on my for a 1-3 mile walk/run as I am fine w/out it (unless it's the middle of summer - I overheat fast). But I know my boy is…

content but not at goal - getting re-motivated
My sticktoitiveness has not been very sticky lately. I've been falling off the wagon and not feeling that bad at the time - it's when I feel the bloat that I want to slap my Saturday self silly. Trying to go to the gym at least three times a week, but I won't make any progress when I can't keep my pie hole closed. I've…

read a weird thing about skim milk...
Hey all, So, I just read something about skim milk and I wanted to see if any of you have heard about this.... I read this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/11/top-tips-from-health-experts_n_1865877.html?utm_hp_ref=marlo-thomas&icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl18|sec3_lnk1&pLid=206744. There is a slide in there (keeping in…

Bad news on my 1yr MFP anniversary
So, I've lost 60lbs, not quite goal for the year, but I'm still trying (minus the too often slip - where'd my diligence go... need to get that back). I'll hit my goal by the end of the year, I have no doubt. Fitness goals, not doing so great. I've been trying to interval, but I would come down with recurrent bouts of…

Bad news on my 1yr MFP anniversary
Disregard this post and use the other to comment please. MFP was a little slow loading this topic.

With 20lbs to go until first goal weight...
When I started: Saturday: 20lbs to go until I hit 200... then onward and downward!

Pins and Needles/ new socks?
Hey guys When I walk, run, or interval, I tend to get the tingles in my feet and it spreads up my legs. I've read that it could be a nerve issue and/or a circulation issue. I'm worried, so I will be making an appointment to see my doctor. In the mean time, I'm going to try some stuff. I have Brooks Ravennas that are…

Exercise Slump
Okay - up until March, I was doing really well. Lifting every other day, my reps were increasing and I was noticing a difference. I was also doing cardio at least 2 times a week. It was starting to show. Then - my life blew up. My husband had a medical issue that put him in the hospital for two weeks. I gained 1.3lbs, but…

Favorite Spring Candy
Hey fellow MFPers - I was just reading the boards and I'm seeing people talking about the Easter candy and the Girl Scout Cookies on the market... so I was just wondering... What is your favorite spring candy - you know, stuff you can only get around Easter? Me - I love Jelly Beans - starburst, sweet tart (last year I ate…

Almost at 40lbs - I'll show you the last 30.
I don't have a picture that is recent (since January), but I'm a pound away from 40, which is over halfway of my 1st goal. My goal is about 75lbs, see how I feel, then maybe drop to 100-125. My exercise has picked up a lot lately, so my body shape has changed. Started 9/10/11 - this is a picture of that weekend at my start…

Crystal Light
Hey all, I don't normally drink CL (not a fan of the taste) but I was at the grocery store they other day and found a new variety made with a hint of sugar... doesn't this defeat the purpose? Also - others sodas are jumping on the Dr. Pepper 10 trend. I saw 7UP 10, A&W 10, Sunkist 10, and Canada Dry 10 this weekend... I…

Left over calories/ eating back work-out calories - what do
So, tonight I had 400 calories left after dinner. I usually don't have that many. So, I decided to have my favorite snack - high-quality cheese and crackers. I know that will use up the last of what I have and I'm fine with that. I love good cheese and crackers. So, what do you eat when you have remaining calories and/or…

Just Dance
I was looking in the search for Just Dance stuff, but didn't find what I was looking for and thought maybe a post could help me. I have Just Dance for the Wii (the first one) and it doesn't do the sweat points. My Pedometer doesn't do a good calorie track because it's not based on total body movement. I don't have an HRM…

Post-Holiday
3 things: 1) I weighed myself for the first time in almost two weeks. I thought I had gained weight - I actually lost .3lbs. I probably gained a bit, then lost some... but I'm happy with that. 2) I checked my progress on the BMI chart and I've gone from the top of the "Morbid Obesity" section to the middle/top of the…

Xmas to NYE gain back?
Hello everyone, I don't know about anyone else, but the past week and a half has been tough. I've not been able to control myself since Christmas, and I've overeaten A LOT over the last few days. I go back to work on Tuesday and it will be my first time on a scale in about 2 weeks. I know I've gained weight - I would…

Sparkling Water...
Hello, I've been drinking sparkling water for about the last four days or so. I'm starting to experience nausea, a sour taste in the back of my throat, and some abdominal pain. The sparkling water does have aspartame in it. I've called my doctor and I'm waiting for a call back. Do you think it's the aspartame? Which would…

Raging appetite
Hello all, Yesterday was a really bad day at work, so I gave myself a splurge day. Now, my appetite is raging. Usually splurge days help to curb my hunger... I'm wondering if it's just the stress of what is still going on at work (I have a history of being an emotional eater) or if I should be afraid that I could blow my…

Dropping down in calorie count
Hello all, When I started MFP, I was at 1450 a day. I can easily manage that and often end up w/about 150 left at the end of the day. Here's my question: When I hit 10lbs of weight loss, the program asked me if I wanted to drop from 1450 to 1360. At the time I said no. I was just starting out, still struggling, and…

Thoughts
So, I read an article yesterday on CNN.com about weight loss and one suggestion in the article is "Don't tell anyone what you are doing". Does anyone find any merit in this? Do you find it motivational to tell folks or to wait until they notice? Do you find that the more people know, the less motivated you are because it…

food oddity
So, based on a suggestion from the boards, I threw ground turkey into a recipe that I make. It wasn't bad - but here's something that I discovered... I tend to use ground sirloin (90/10) and that's 190 calories for a 4 oz. serving - equaling about 760 calories for the whole pound, which I obviously don't eat in this recipe…

cravings
What do you crave? Have you stopped eating something and suddenly desire it. I had a craving last week for a soft serve ice-cream cone, and because I had the extra calories, I had one. I've been craving chocolate a bit this week. This morning when I was driving to work, I really wanted biscuits and gravy w/sausage patties.…

Meeting my first goal!
Hello all, This morning at my weigh-in I lost 3.6 pounds last week. This means I've met my first goal - I'm now back down to the weight I was when I got married 3 years ago. I'm going in 20lb increments, that way I don't feel overwhelmed by my big number... my next goal is to weigh what I did when I graduated from college…

Working in a "doughnut shop"
Hello all, I work in a department that will find almost any excuse to bring in food and treats. They can range from stuff like cheese cubes, to veggies, all the way to cookies, and doughnuts. Yesterday, for Halloween, I brought in Pumpkin bread. Our manager is leaving for surgery today and there is a freaking smorgasbord…

Books...
Hey all, I'm currently listening to the audiobook of "Mindless Eating" and I'm not even through one disc and it's already a good book. I recommend it. Do you have any books you listen to to help you "learn" to manage weight loss/dieting?

Tracking at a party
Hey all, Over the next two weeks, I have a few family engagements coming up (not to mention Thanksgiving and Xmas around the corner)... what do you guys do to track foods where you can't find the restaurant in the database, there's no bar code to scan, and you aren't in control of the ingredients? As it stands, I've been…

Motivation
Hello everyone, I've been using MFP for about three weeks now and I've lost about 11 pounds so far. My first two weeks saw my most significant weight loss (3 the first week, 4 the second). I'm think it this because I was working out almost every single day for those two weeks in some fashion. Now, four weeks in, I'm at…
