Exercise Slump

Okay - up until March, I was doing really well. Lifting every other day, my reps were increasing and I was noticing a difference. I was also doing cardio at least 2 times a week. It was starting to show.
Then - my life blew up. My husband had a medical issue that put him in the hospital for two weeks. I gained 1.3lbs, but I've since lost that....
But I can't seem to get my motivation back to get back to exercising. I felt better when I was doing more, but I just can't seem to get it back. My husband has been diagnosed with depression and we are working (and struggling) through that.
I don't know if I just don't have the motivation or if I feel guilty or depressed myself or what...
Anyway, I just wanted to put it out there and get some ideas on how I can push myself back to what I was doing before....

You just have to "get back at it." I think once you get back into your old routine you'll start feeling great about it again. When I stop going to the gym, or doing your workouts (for whatever reasons) it can be difficult to get going again, even though in my head I know I'll feel better if you go, but I just have to force myself to go and after a couple days I am back to loving it and wondering why I stopped going in the first place.
Don't feel guilty about doing something for yourself (easier said than done sometimes), I understand that your husband (and you) are going through a struggle with his depression. However, you have to remember that if you do small things that make yourself feel good/happy than you can be a better support system for him. Also you could try getting him to work out with you, it could be helpful for him too.
I hope this helps!!!0
