Slim in 6 and Calories burned
Hi Guys, I searched first, but did not come up with an answer, so if it's a repeat, I apologize. I thought on my non weight training days I would do either Ramp it Up or Burn it Up. Anyone have any idea what the calorie burn is on these, or how I figure it out? Is it high impact aerobics? Is it calisthenics? Is it…

Questions for successful low carbers
Let me start by saying this is not a low carb debate. I just need some information about low carb and fats from people who are successfully doing the program. What's your ratio of fat/protein? Do you do more fat than protein, about the same or more protein than fat? I am only concerned because I just came off a vlcd…

crab! I had no idea!
I just looked at the crab I bought from BJs yesterday. I'm not sure I can believe it. 2 oz has only 40 calories and 10 grams of protein - and no fat! Sodium is good too at 180mg. It's pre cooked and shelled so all you have to do it scoop it, weigh it and eat it! Ultimate fast food. This is the special wild caught. The…

Just discovered Ostrim ostrich and beef sticks!
OMG! These are so good. It's like eating salami or pepperoni, but with virtually no fat. The sodium is not bad either. Great fast food at 14 grams of protein.

Nappa Cabbage as bread!
Because of the hcg protocol, I cannot have bread or wraps, but I really wanted a sandwich. So I took two similar sized leaves of Nappa Cabbage and used them in place of bread. Yummy!

Miracle Noodles ... Any Experience?
My shipment of Miracle Noodles arrived yesterday. They look "interesting". I will attempt to prepare some for lunch today. Any tips from those of you that are experienced with them? I've read all the instructions on the Miracle Nooodles site. Thanks.

Water?
I really didn't drink a lot of water today. I know this will sound silly, but I'm hoping someone has an answer for me. If I drink 60 ounces of water between now 7:00 and 10:00, will it do what it's supposed to and hydrate me and flush out toxins, or will it just give me a belly ache and have me in the bathroom all night?…

HCGers, what does your food break down look like?
I am curious as to how you set your food break down goals. Mine are: 500 cal, 38g carb, 11g fat 63g protein and 14g fiber. I never make my protein or my fiber goals and am always under on my fat. My carbs come to 38 and sometimes go over, but they are all from approved veggies. I can't believe how low fat this diet really…

Was Anyone Else At All Disturbed: Half Ton Teens?
On Sunday, I caught two TLC shows that just blew me away. This sounds ridiculous - but they have profoundly altered what I will eat and what I will feed my children. They have had a huge impact on what I want my children to learn about nutrition and how I hope they will come to feel about food. I was so saddened by what I…

Omega 3
Just started taking about 5 grams of Omega 3 over the course of the day, along with some Omega 6 and Omega 9. For the past week I have just felt so good! Not hungry, calm, my skin looks better and I am retaining a lot less water than I have been. I've also started taking all the multivitamins that I should, so maybe it's…

FWIW - Calorie Counting, nutrient dense foods, starvation mo
We all seem to be on the same page about idea of eating at least 1200 calories a day to prevent starvation mode. We also need to make sure we're getting great nutrition in those calories in order to keep our bodies out of starvation mode. Eat only 1200 calories of junk a day and I doubt there will be any significant long…

Fage vs. Chobani just and FYI from one person's tast buds
Well, the supermarkets I go to have been out of my Fage total 0%:grumble: So I tried the Chobani. Higher in protein and slightly higher in calories. For me, the texture was gritty and the taste more like cottage cheese than yogurt. It was okay, but just not as creamy as the Fage. There you go. Unfortunately, I bought like…

Gabriel Method?
Has anyone read the Gabriel Method book? Is it worth buying? My library does not have a copy, so I am reluctant to buy it unseen. I may check to see if B&N has it so I can peruse it before hand. I had never heard of it until I clicked on an ad on this site for it. Has anyone tried the approach?

I Just Discovered Mini Croissants!!
 90 calories, 4 grams of fat, 12 grams of carb and 2 grams of protein! Yummy!!!! They taste as though they are wickedly bad for you, but with a little turkey breast and lowfat cheese make a great snack. Mine came from BJ's

Question about Wheybolic Protein Powder measuring
OK - rather inane, but I need to know. Is a "scoop" to the top of the scooper (level) or is a "scoop" to the little line around the rim of the scooper. If no one knows, then I'll just measure grams and find out, but if someone already has the answer, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Calorie percentages on Moderate Carb days
As I have posted before, I'm trying to do a few low carb days (15% of calories coming from carbs) and a high carb day (60% of calories coming from carbs), but I think I want to stick in a moderate carb day also. I just feel better when I eat fewer carbs. So, what's a good percentage for a moderate day? Would you say 30%…

4 pounds gone!
I posted about being discouraged, but I got on that scale and 4 pounds are gone for sure! That's really encouraging. Also, I can see some abs under that midsection fat! I always had them, they've just been covered. I have to admit, the weight loss is not what I expected, but at least the scale is finally going in the right…

HRM Recommendations
OK The Body Bugg post got me started. I checked out the Polar F7 and F11 HRMs. Any other good ones out there. Do you have one that you really love? Can they be used by two different people and programmed for two users (not at the same time, of course:wink: I think one of these will really stop all the calorie anxiety I've…

You've heard it before, but I need to complain ...
I've been doing this for ten days and I have not lost a pound! My weight goes up and down, which I know is normal - but I would have liked to see at least a pound gone for good. Weight used to just kind of fall off the minute I cut down on calories. Now that I'm eating "right" nothing is happening and I am dissappointed.…

How much in the way of calories and fat does pan frying add
I want to fry some lean pork cutlets in a pan with olive oil. I won't be deep frying and if I use three tablespoons of oil, I'd be surprised. Anyone know if this adds significant calories, other than the oil itself? Curious.

Can We Talk About that Magic 1200 Number?
I am having a little trouble with the magic 1,200 calories being the minimum for everyone. On days that I don't exercise, I feel like I've over-eaten if I eat 1,200 calories. Is this really the number for everyone, or is it an average? Could some people really be more like 1,000 calorie minimum metabolisms and others be…

Exercise Calories - the other side of the coin
Ok - I eat my exercise calories. I like them  What do I do on my "rest" day as far as calories? The least amount I earn from exercise is about 200 calories. Those calories really make the difference between having enough to eat and feeling hungry. Do I just eat as though I "earned" those calories on that one rest…

Low Carb Days and Energy
I am trying to have a few low carb days then a high carb day (pizza! ) and then a low cab day, then a couple of moderate carb days and then start the cycle all over again. This is my second low carb day and I am just plain tired! For those of you that are eating low carbs (15% of your calories) do you find that you…

The Really Good Thing About Dieting ...
is that it forces me to think about what I eat and makes me plan what I should eat. I was in such a rut of eating the same stuff daily because of convenience, that I forgot how much I love certain food, but stopped buying and eating them because they were not low-fat or some other reason. Today, for the first time in years…

'Nother Newbie Question About When (How Often) To Eat
I've read so much about eating every few hours to keep the metabolism in gear and blood sugar levels stable. Many of you here have done a lot of research ... how accurate is it? I am a big night time eater. I will eat during the day, just not huge calories or meals. Small protein carb, nutrient dense food. However, at…

BMR says 1263 calories a day, MFP says eat 1200 how will I
I see this is a big topic on these boards and I've read as much as I can, but it still makes no sense to me. I checked the BMR tool and compared it to what MFP says I should be eating. It didn't take out many calories at all! Shouldn't I be eating a minimum 200 calories less than my BMR in order to loose weight, rather…

Cycling Carbs
Is anyone cycling carbs and if so, do you just change your goals section daily to help keep track? Does changing the goals for a new day change them for the previous days as well? Thanks
