My shipment of Miracle Noodles arrived yesterday. They look "interesting". I will attempt to prepare some for lunch today. Any tips from those of you that are experienced with them? I've read all the instructions on the Miracle Nooodles site.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well I have eaten the Vegan Shirataki noodles from the grocer and I added them to the skillet to brown a bit, added mushrooms and a coconut curry Vegan Tempa (tofu) and they were awesome. The texture is a little rubbery, but that sort of thing doesn't bother me.0

the clear ones are just too weird for me. I have a box of them sitting in my kitchen that will never get eaten completely, id' imagine. When i cooked them, I stir fried them with chicken strips and soy sauce and a little curry and some other veggies like shredded carrots and cabbage and mushroom. There's a dish i used to get from the chinese restaurant called Mei Fun and it's clear noodles like the miracle noodles (only they're rice) and the dish is delicious. I tried duplicating it with miracle noodles (the clear ones) and it wasn't half bad, actually.
I've also tried the tofu-based shiritaki noodles. I LOVE them. They are very versatile and like tofu, will take on many flavors. They're low in calories and fat. Consistency is a bit weird but not unbearably so (and not as weird as the clear ones IMO).
I'm not eating any noodles right now but I think both types have a place in an overall healthy and thoughtful dietary lifestyle.0 -
Make sure you rinse the noodles REALLY well. I've switched to Wildwood Pastaslim noodles (25 cals per serving as opposed to zero in Miracle Noodles) since I hated how long it took to rinse the noodles. If you can get over Miracle Noodles not being as satisfying as regular pasta, they're a great way to have a filling meal with SUPER low cals on the days you really need to keep them low. Try to top them with something tasty and you should be just fine! Good luck!!0

Are these "Miracle Noodles" the shirataki /made from yam noodles that come in a watery bag?
If so, my boss just gave me a bag to try today. Interested to see what they are like.....0 -
OK The "rigatoni" were horrible. They were just too thick and I could not get past the texture. The angel hair is much better. The texture is not such a big deal because they are so thin. I am going to serve them with asparagus and scallops for lunch today. We'll see if they pass the hubby test.
My shipment was a sampler pack of 4 each: rigatoni, tiny pasta (pastina), orzo (not much different from the tiny pasta), linguini and angel hair.
I love mei fun, so hopefully these will be similar.0
