I'm looking for an armband for my phone, but want to leave it in my otter box commuter case. Many suggestions? I'd prefer to buy it at either amazon or target.

Fitbit vs body media Fit
I've seen a lot it topics on this, but my question is about intense workouts - and wihich one is better I'm current doing chalean extreme/turbo fire hybrid. I have a HRM that I use for workouts. I'm trying to figure out which one would be better for a person that does intense workout DVDs. I know my RMR is around 2000 (I…

Buffmother?
Anyone reading/following Buffmother? A friend recommended it to me. Thought I'd get some opinions before I bought the book. Sounds interesting. Just want to know if it's worked for anyone.

2 questiosn
I'm half way through stage 4 and realizing that the ab portions are not challenging my any more. I still do the plank, but on the other other workout I do incline bench and captains chair with straight leg lifts. Any one else changing it up? What stage did you see the biggest results. In stage 2 my husband told me my legs…

Peak8
Anyone doing peak8 workouts? it's a little more specific than HIIT. Here's a link. Just wondering what your results are and if you still are still lifting weights. http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2010/06/26/10-minutes-of-exercise-yields-hourlong-effects.aspx

After Chalean Extreme? and Turbo Fire?
I just finished my 2nd week of the lean circuits. I'll have a month before we go to Cancun (when I finish Chalean) and I'm trying to decide what to do for a weights program. Any one have an opinion about going to the maintanence phase (burn 1, push, 2, lean 3 I think?) for the month or I was thinking about doing a week of…

Half marathon ? for experienced runners
I'd decided to do a half marathon in May. Thought it would be a great weekend since school was done and there wasn't anything going on. Just went to register and they changed weekends. Now it'll be the Saturday after we get back from Cancun. My question is - do you think i'll be okay? I"m nervous about training, then…

100% White Wheat Flour?
I was looking at Wheat flour last night (for making homemade pizza crust mainly), and saw 100% white Wheat flour. Only ingredient is Whole White Wheat Flour - no mention of enriched or bleached or anything else. Is it still as good regular 100% whole wheat?

Nothing better
than logging on when I'm debating whether to use today as a rest day, or get a quick run in (my gym was closed today) and finding the motivation to get out and run. I always feel so much better when I do something (even when running right into the wind made it a much tougher workout than I wanted).

Just ONE pound
I don't think I've seen this for a while - but it's a good reminder for all of us. One Pound of Fat Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, you should. I am ONE POUND OF FAT, and I am the happiest pound of FAT that you would ever want to meet! Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me! After all, I am only…

Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
*** I haven't made it yet, but I got the recipe from a friend. I put the calories in on Spark Recipe builder and it's only about 300 calories for 1/4 of the recipe (I guessed it would make about 9 cups from 9 cups of liquid so I put in for 4.5 servings to divide it). I also build the recipe with 12 oz of chicken because I…

cleaned out the cupboards
I just cleaned out all my cookies/snacky stuff from the holidays. I didn't throw much away since I know everyone at work will eat it for me (and they'll enjoy the extra treats on a Monday). I just feel better knowing that it's either packaged up to bring to work, or thrown into the freezer where I'm good at forgetting…

Another restaurant calorie source
I just wanted to post about another good source for finding out the calories in restaurant food. It's www.dwlz.com. She has an unreal amount of restaurants on there. She has it set up to be similar to Weight Watchers so she only has cal, fat, carb, fiber and WW points, but it's a good start.

stretching and fit tv
I don't know if anyone else is as bad at stretching as I am, but I recorded a show on Fit Tv that's stretching on the stability ball - Stretch Max: Cathe Freidrich. I just did it and it felt good and got all of my muscle groups. It's maybe 20-25 min long. It's on again at 10:30 central and 6:30 tonight.

Maxine's one Day of Employment
So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day...... About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance. As I had been…

snack vs. treat
I was reading a magazine (self maybe ?) and it was talking about snacks vs. treats. It said that when one plans a snack, it should have some nutritional value, whereas a treat is just that - something you enjoy, but don't have daily. Just a little something to think about when planning your food each day.

running question
I have a training for a 10K that says to do 10 x 400. What exactly does that mean and what does that equate to on a tread mill or with city blocks? Thanks.

Calling all P90Xers
Just thought I'd start a thread to see where everyone is in the program. I know we have a couple of threads, and probably some new people that might not have found the threads yet. 1st Round, phase 2, starting week 6 tomorrow.

texting Diet1?
I remembered this from a while ago, but wondered if anyone has used it. If you've never heard of it... you can send a text to diet1 (34381), tell them the names/menu item and they'll send back the nutrition info to your phone. Is it still free (with texting on phone plan)? Also, how accurate was it?

figuring out %
if I wanted to up my protein and custom set MFP, would I multiply the number of cals by the % if protein, then divide it by 4 (calories in each gram of protein)? Ex = 1500*.6 /4 = 225. Is that right? the P90X starts with really high protein (60%) and I just wanted to see what I'd have to do. (i think it's only the first 3…

3-1 MFP Runners Club
I just got done with 7 on the treadmill. I think that's the longest run I've had since September (when I did a half). I loved it! I can't wait for warm weather to run outside again, but then I'll miss my little set up for the tread (movie on close caption, ipod, chapstick, phones - just in case, fan, water - )

Stupid things people say
I was doing a muscle max class (similar to Body Pump) this morning. Anyway, as some people were leaving before stretching and the instructor said, "if you don't stretch when you get done you'll lose 90% of what you just did" HUH? I get I'd lose some flexibility and be a little more sore, but I still don't get where she…

brownie cream cheese bites
I'll preface this by saying if you can't stop at one, don't make these. If you can stop yourself after one, they're a pretty good small treat. Using regular cream cheese, they have 104 calories each (I wasn't worried about the rest when I put it in the calculator because I didn't plan on eating them since I made the for…

HRM calorie question
For those of you with a HRM, do you enter the full calorie amount into your day or do you subtract what you would have burned just sitting on the couch? I saw a post the other day about subtracting 50 cal/hr that her body would have burned without exercise. I'm just got my HRM on Wed and want to make sure I'm entering it…
