figuring out %

if I wanted to up my protein and custom set MFP, would I multiply the number of cals by the % if protein, then divide it by 4 (calories in each gram of protein)?
Ex = 1500*.6 /4 = 225. Is that right?
the P90X starts with really high protein (60%) and I just wanted to see what I'd have to do. (i think it's only the first 3 weeks)

nope,
add up protein, fats, and carbs (all the macronutrients)
and then divide protein by that number.
I.E.
take mine for example
my protein/fat/carbs is185/120/320
which means together they are 625
you divide 185/625
and get 29.6% (which is my protein)
(My ratios are 30/20/50 for protein/fat/carbs_0
