Frozen hot chocolate:
Ingredients:
8-12 Ice Cubes (more ice cubes = thicker shake).
3/4 – 1 cup Liquid (less liquid = thicker shake) – I use a 50/50 mix of Coconut Milk & Water.
1 Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder.
1-2 tbsp 100% dark cocoa (the more cocoa the more rich & “hot chocolate-y” the shake).
Stevia (to taste – I usually use 4-8 pkts depending on the size of the shake).
Optional Toppings:
Cacao nibs
100% cocoa powder + Stevia powder
I LOVE mine in a big bowl with some cocoa & stevia sprinkled on top. Talk about protein DELIGHT!
Step-By-Step:
Put all ingredients in blender or food processor (put liquid in first so the powder doesn’t stick to the bottom).
Blend until thick (LOTS OF BLENDING!) and somewhat “formed.”
Pour into bowl or glass.
Devour!
Tips:
Adding a pinch of sea salt makes it taste more “hot chocolate-y” to some.
Adding a pinch of xanthan gum will thicken the shake.
Adding a pinch of guar gum will help get rid of ice clumps.
Adding a bit of psyllium husk (gluten free fiber) will help increase the fiber in your diet and thicken the shake.
