How do you feel about bagged salad?
With the recent recalls of bagged salad/lettuce, do you still eat it? I purchased it at least once a week, maybe more but am hesitant to do so.

MFP nutritional information for restaurants with no information
Anyone have any theories on how nutritional information gets into MFP for restaurants that don't release nutritional information? Are people just making this information up or do they have inside information? I'm just asking for accuracy purposes. For example, Portillo's doesn't release nutritional information yet pretty…

I want to burn more at rest
I have a lot of weight to lose and am pretty sedentary. I work from home and don't exercise. I had my RMR tested about a year and a half ago and it was pretty low for someone my size so I know I'm not burning what I should be. I have the food part down pretty good, staying within my goals, but I need to start exercising.…

I hate that fruit has so many carbs
I had such a craving for those little Cutie tangerines so I bought them. Looking forward to having 2 for breakfast but it's 20 carbs. I follow a moderate carb diet so I can make it work but it annoys me that fruit is so high in carbs when other items with added sugar are lower.

New Scale Made Me Cry
This is my 4th or 5th attempt on MFP and losing weight. I am so determined this time and feel I really have a good shot at sticking with it. I've been doing really well the past few weeks but my scale has been acting up. I step on it and the numbers fluctuate but it won't lock in on a number so I it takes 3 or 4 tries to…

Lower Carb Cracker?
I'm not following keto or a very low carb diet but I am watching carbs and trying to keep them at a moderate level. I love crackers and cheese as a snack and my go to cracker has been wheat thins or triscuits but they are pretty high in carbs for what you get. The triscuits are 21 carbs and you only get 6 crackers. Anyone…

Do you ever forget to write down the food you measured?
Grrr, this is the second time in two days I weighed my food thinking I would remember how many grams and then forgot the number! I weigh and measure all my food and am pretty good about remembering. I think I was too hungry today and started to eat right away and got distracted! The good news is I was measuring broccoli so…

Do you miss fast food?
I know a lot of you will say no because you eat it now and fit it into your daily calorie goal. I could do that but I can't eat the amount of it I want to eat and struggle with portion control. I look forward to it and struggle with not eating it. If you have given it up or eat a lot less, do you miss it?

Have you ever made a meal out of 100 calorie snack packs?
I really need to go grocery shopping but it's cold and I'm lazy so I didn't. All I have in the house are 100 calorie snack packs so I had that for dinner. I wound up eating a ton of calories and am still hungry! Lesson learned, preparation is key!!

What do you do after work?
What do you do after you get home from work? I'm not a gym rat and even if I go walk I still have most of the evening free. I try to prep most of my meals on the weekend so I don't have to cook a lot during the week. I don't have kids to deal with so I spend most nights in front of the tv. I think I need a hobby!

Weekends are Brutal
Does anyone else consistently gain a pound or two over the weekend? Even if I have 1 "bad" meal over the weekend, I gain at least a few pounds. I know it's mostly water weight and it comes off within a few days but I feel I would lose more if I didn't have to always lose those pounds every week. I know the solution is not…

How often do you eat fast food?
How often do you eat fast food, that is not a cheat meal? Meaning, how often do you work fast food into your daily calorie count? I do about once a week and usually feel guilty. I tend to stay away from fast food, not because it won't fit into my calories, but because it's really hard for me to limit what I can eat. I can…

Pizza Crust?
What do you use for crust when making homemade pizza? I've just been using the Pillsbury thin crust but looking to try something new.

Does anyone ever feel there is no rhyme or reason for weight loss?
I'm pretty consistent when it comes to food and exercise. One week I'll lose a pound and a half, the next week I gain 1, the following week I lose 2, etc.... I really wish I could pinpoint something that could help with a consistent losing streak, but wouldn't we all! I know there are body fluctuations, water, hormones,…

Do you lose more weight eating clean?
I've noticed that the weeks I eat clean or cleaner, I lose more weight. It's not because I'm eating less calories/fat/carbs. I keep hearing, it doesn't matter what you eat, calories in, calories out but I really think it does. I was snowed in a few weeks ago and didn't eat out once. Every meal was made at home for a solid…

Continual Weight Gain from Exercise
I'm so frustrated. Even the smallest amount of activity results in a gain on the scale for me. I lose better if I sit home and do nothing but I know that's not good for me. Since I have so much weight to lose and bad osteoarthritis in my knee, any walking results in inflammation. If I go grocery shopping, the next day I'm…

Brita Pitcher?
I am a bottled water girl and go through about a case and a half a week. To try to save more money and be environmentally friendly, I purchased a Brita Pitcher. Does it always take a really long time to fill? I can't just stand at the faucet and fill it. I have to fill the reservoir, go sit down for 10 minutes, get back up…

How do I become strong and healthy?
I alway focus on losing weight but now that I am over 40, I want to be healthy!! I can eat nothing but cookies all day and lose weight but I want to be healthy. I have spent a significant amount of time trying to find the healthiest way too eat. For every doctor that has studies and scientific proof, there is another…

Do you ever get angry you have to count calories?
Is anyone else mad that they have to do this, weigh and measure all their food? I deserve it. A lifetime of fast food and overeating has put me in this position but tonight I'm really angry. I spent a significant amount of time entering a recipe, making dinner and then weighing it all out so I could have the correct…

How often do you go grocery shopping?
I absolutely detest grocery shopping. I try to plan out every meal for the week and only go shopping once a week. The problem is the healthier my meal plan, the more I have to go shopping. Lettuce won't make it through the week along with a few other vegetables. Just wondering what everyone else does, if they go a few…

Is anyone exhausted from cooking and recipe builder?
I try to cook 3 new recipes/dishes a week and sometimes it takes me 30 minutes to enter the information into recipe builder. If it has a lot of ingredients it can take me 45 minutes to get the exact ingredient and portion size correct. I just did this for one recipe and now I don't feel like making it! I think I may start…

Does being sedentary kill your metabolism?
I have A LOT of weight to lose 150lbs+ and lose at a very slow rate. All of my food recording is accurate, weighed, measured, etc... I've been working at home for the past few years and don't exercise. I had my fitbit on the other day and only walked 300 steps the entire day. I guess I didn't realize it had gotten that…

Where is the coolest place you have ever been?
I need a vacation. I've been in such a slump lately, I feel like that movie Groundhog Day. I want to go someplace to be inspired. Machu Picchu, the Grand Canyon, etc.. Have you been anywhere that has been breathtaking or awe inspiring?

Resting Metabolic Rate
I am very sedentary. I work from home and sit all day and then will watch tv most nights so the only activity I'm really getting most days is walking around my house. I was using my BMR number and calculating a calorie deficit from that but had my RMR (resting metabolic rate) tested and it came in almost 800 below my BMR.…

Feeling Good in your 40's
I so wish I started this weight loss journey in my 20's or even in my 30's. Or maybe I shouldn't have gotten this out of shape to begin with!! I just turned 41 and have a lot of weight to lose. I'm hoping I can feel great in my 40's. I know losing the weight won't get me to the body of a 25 year old but am hoping I can…

Looking for friends who have a lot to lose
I've been on MFP for a while now but always welcome new friends to keep me motivated. I know the term "a lot to lose" is all relative to each person's situation but I have over 200 lbs to lose which is an extremely daunting task! Right now I'm trying to stay under 1800 calories and under 150 carbs but it's a challenge. The…

When your body doesn't cooperate
I thought I had a pretty good week this week. I admit, I'm not the healthiest eater but I stayed under my calorie and carb goal every day but am up 2 lbs this week. I've drank plenty of water and weigh and measure everything. I'll stick with it and probably lose those 2 lbs next week but then that's 2 weeks with no loss.…
