getting enough nutrients to heal?
So, i have a few questions about getting right amount of nutrition. I will start by giving you some background. Last Tuesday I went to the dentist to have a tooth extracted and they accidentally broke my jaw. I had to go to an oral surgeon to have my jaw wired shut and I am using this website to make sure that I am getting…

jaw wired shut!!
You won't believe what happened to me yesterday! I went in for a routine tooth extraction and the root was wrapped around the bone. They broke the bone holding 3 of my teeth and sent me to oral surgery. After removing the original tooth that needed to be pulled the surgeon informed me that I could either lose the other two…

Exercise has changed my life!
I started this journey in February 2011! Since then I haven't gone a couple days at a time without some kind of workout cardio or strength, until three weeks ago. My dad became ill and went into the hospital. The first thing to go was my exercising and the second was my healthy eating habits. For the past three weeks I have…

I'm feeling nauseous and I don't know why.....
For the past two months I have felt sick to my stomach on and off. Sometimes it comes and passes and other times I feel sick all day; morning, noon and night. The first couple of days I thought that I must be pregnant because I have only felt this way once before and that was when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have…

At a healthy BMI, what's next?
So I just reached my "normal" BMI, where I am only a few tenths from being considered overweight, so I still have about 5-10 lbs to lose. My question is how should I alter my calorie intake? I know the last 5-10 lbs will be harder to lose so I change my weight loss goal to lose .5lb a week. I guess my question is should I…

I've reached a wall mentally and physically
I've been on top of this weight loss thing since February. I've lost 16 lbs since then and I feel like I am just getting burned out. I want to make this change for a lifetime and I'm halfway there. I started with determination, lots of support and now that I've gotten this far I feel myself slipping. I get to the point…

camping food??
We are going camping this weekend. I was asking my husband what we should bring to eat. We only have a medium sized cooler and we are going to be there for three days and two nights. The usual suspects came to mind; hot dogs, potatoes, peanut butter, lunch meat, baked beans and canned veggies. There is a possibility of…

What do you do when your sick??
My whole family has come down with a virus. It is like a super cold or something. My two year old has barely slept in 2 days. My husband has been a big help, but he is getting it now and he has to go back to work tomorrow. My question is, What do you eat when you are sick and how do you exercise when you feel so bad?? I…

elliptical ?
So I joined the Y and yesterday I used the elliptical for the first time and after about 15 minutes my toes and parts of my feet went completely numb. It was a great workout, but I had to stop and start a few times to get feeling back into my feet. Does anyone know if this is normal? I want to go use the machine again…

may be TMI for some, but here goes
Cutting calories has made me extremely gassy. I'm not sure if it is all of the vegetables or what but it's becoming a problem. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel sick and bloated right now. Any suggestions? Or helpful tips would be great. Thanks!

exercise with kids, how do you do it?
I am a stay at home mom with a toddler and a preschooler. I would love a membership to a gym or the Y, but we just don't have the money. My daughter has school from 8-2, so that is usually when I fit in my work out. I love taking my son for walks, but he walks so slow that it can't be considered exercise. So I put my son…

rough week
I have been doing great sticking to my plan for three weeks. Last week was rough for me. I had a weak moment which led to baking cookies which led to many other weak moments. Yesterday I went to lunch with my mom, and though I didn't realize at the time, had a sandwich that turned out to be 1025 calories. Luckily it was…
