getting enough nutrients to heal?

So, i have a few questions about getting right amount of nutrition. I will start by giving you some background. Last Tuesday I went to the dentist to have a tooth extracted and they accidentally broke my jaw. I had to go to an oral surgeon to have my jaw wired shut and I am using this website to make sure that I am getting enough calories, protein, ect. This coming Tuesday I have a follow up appointment and I am going to ask for a referral to a nutritional counselor. It is hard to get everything I need through fluids. I was just wondering if anyone would look at my food diary and give suggestions on what I could add or do differently. I am lactose intolerant, but I have been crushing up chew-able tablets of lactaid and dissolving them in water. Any suggestions, recipes, or ideas are welcome. Thank you!

Sorry to hear about what happened! I looked at your diary and it looks like you are doing a pretty good job so far.
do you have a blender? you can add lots of greens to fruit smoothies to boost nutrition. parsley is my favourite, but spinach definitely adds the least flavour. you can also make great smoothies with carrots and orange or mango. (if you don't have a high powered blender you might want to cook the carrots first)
and peas are really nutritious, you can make a great soup with vegetable or chicken stock, diced onion, fresh or frozen peas and mint (I use a mint tea bag but fresh is even better) just throw it in your blender and heat it up.

OMG that is awful! You can add some protein powder to the oatmeal as well. Also, for shakes I use Almond Milk or Soy Milk. Usually unsweetened but for added nutrients the regular version might have more. Good Luck!0
