Time to get back on track - needing friends
I'm looking for more friends to help me with my weight loss journey and my journey to becoming healthy once more. My story is this. Two years ago, I separated from my ex wife and ended up getting a divorce. In the course of four months, I lost my marriage, my hone, my job and my car. The stress of the situation led me to…

Looks do matter
I don't know. Just felt like rambling a bit. But I'm just going to post a question for single people. Heck, even married if you want to comment. Do looks matter? I think they do. I've heard countless times again and again "Looks don't matter if they have a good personality." Sure.... Let's be real. Let's be honest. If as a…

I need friends and a support group
I need to find friends to help get my circle back and going. Here is why.. It's time to start over. It's time to begin a new life. It's time to step up and take responsibility. January 2010 is an important day for me. It's the day I first started my weight loss journey. I was 230 pounds and wanting to take back my life. I…

Trying to find a part ttime in home exercise program
I know there are plenty of in home exercise programs. Insanity, Crossfit, blah blah... Over the next few weeks over Christmas I'm looking for a good exercise program to have in home while I have my kids. I can't take them to the gym because the gym has no child care. I'm kind of leery about going with something like…

How should I ease in?
I was on this site three years ago and lost 50 pounds. Then over a period of the last year and a half I lost my marriage, my job, blah blah blah and gained 100 pounds. At one point two years ago, I was doing an hour to hour and a half workouts. Now I can barely climb a flight of stairs. When I first started my journey a…

Need support
I'm Cliff. I'm also not new to this site, but now I find I need it more than ever. Three years ago, I signed up for MFP and had great success. I lost 50 pounds and was in the best shape of my life since I was 18 years old. I hiked for miles, ran 10 K events, mountain biked and was just out and about taking advantage of…

Powering through the tired
Okay, so your child was sick and you were up part of the night or you went to bed late and woke up earlier than expected or any number of things happen and you don't get 8 hours sleep. You go to workout and you just aren't feeling it. It seems like you are going through the motions. What do you do to get yourself pumped up…

Cheat day
Do you give yourself a cheat day? if so, what do you do and if not, why not? i try to give myself one cheat day a week. it's a way to keep sane and not be consumed all the time with the diet. But even then I don't go overboard. it's not cheat day all day long. i've done that before and it backfires on you. Heading to the…

Met a goal this morning
I met a goal I had set for myself this morning. I hit 180 pounds. But I'm really not that excited about it because I think I can do even better. I wrote a blog about it on here. You can check it out at: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/rocklion/view/a-goal-has-been-met-125642

Slowly becoming the new me
I've been writing a blog about my weight loss for a few weeks. I just posted a new blog today about trying out new clothes at the store. I'd love for you to read it. http://theoutdoorjunkie.wordpress.com/2011/07/16/the-clothes-dont-fit-and-becoming-a-new-person/

My shirt size has changed
I went to the store today. It was much needed because the fact is all my clothes are falling off me. My boss even mentioned something on Friday. I was wearing a blue shirt and some khaki pants. They were falling off me. She looked at me and said, "You look like a bag lady." So, I went to the store today. I had worn XL and…

Breaking new ground
Over the weekend, my family and I went on a camping and mountain biking trip. During the course of that trip, I had to make a 5-mile climb up a mountain to get to the trailhead. I did it. I couldn't have done it five months ago. The result was an experience of a lifetime. I detailed the climb and what it meant to me on my…

A success story waiting to happen
After months of losing weight and exercise, in just a few hours I get a chance to see just how far I've gone. I'm taking my family on a two-day camping trip to a mountain biking resort in the North Georgia mountains. While there, I plan on mountain biking for hours upon hours and for the first time it will test my…

I've turned my weight loss into a blog
I've been tracking my progression of losing weight for several months on my Facebook feed and one thing I found out over the last couple of week that is mind boggling to me is this: I've got friends who are suddenly saying I'm an inspiration to them. I have a few friends who have said they are going to start losing weight…

i gained some, but you know... It's ok
Didn't know where to put this. But this seems to be a fairly good spot as far as forums. So, after Memorial Day weekend, I found I gained about a pound and a half. I tried to head it off. Went mountain biking two days, trail running and swimming another. But even then I made a couple of bad choices that sucked up a lot of…

High school weight
I woke up this week at the same weight I was in high school. Lost 2.5 pounds and am at 196.5. I pretty much stayed around 193 to 196 in high school. I don't have the I looked so great in high school story, but I certainly wasn't as overweight as I was. Next goal: Army weight. That's between 175 and 180.

Ripped out an extra lap on a course I've only ever done one
So, I ripped out a second lap on a mountain bike course today I've only ever been able to do one lap on. And I loved it, and I can feel the results and progress of the training program I've been on the last month. One thing I have been concentrating on lately is trying to strengthen my legs more. I started weightlifting a…

Traditional workout vs. insanity/P90K
I have a question about this, and would like some more understanding on this. Maybe I'm missing the boat, and perhaps someone can explain this to me in a way I'll be able to understand it better. And first off, I'd like to say I am not trying to start an argument or flame war. I'd just like a legitimate dialogue about the…

I saw a 1 in the beginning
I stepped on the scale this morning and saw a big surprise. I weigh 199. It's been a long, long, long time since I've seen the 100's and not the 200's.

Lightest I've been in 15 years
I found out this morning I lost a pound and a half this week and am down to 202.5 pounds. That's the lightest I've been since leaving the Army in 1996. I was down to 204 last year for a time before I gained about 16 pounds over the winter. My first goal I set for myself was to break through 204. Now I have my next…

Binge eating
I've lost 16 pounds over the last three months, going from 220 to 204. I started feeling great and the best I have since I was in my early 20s. The boom, this week happened. It has always been a problem for me, I thought I was done with it, but it came back to haunt me. Binge eating. It started with just going to a…

Not eating enough after working out?
This is my first posting here and just joined My Fitness Pal this morning after a suggestion from my wife. A little background. Last year, I started exercising and eating healthier and lost 30 pounds. Then last summer, I kind of hit a plateau, and I stayed around the same weight for several months. Then over the holiday…
