Using up chicken stock
My freezer is full of chicken stock. My go-to use is porcini risotto, but there is only so much of this one can eat. Any other ideas about how to use up chicken stock? Favourite soups? Other risotto ideas? What do you do with veloute sauce?

Mostly protein and veg main
I've got some leftover porcini risotto which I will be stuffing into mushroom caps with a sprinkle of cheese to bake as a starter for tomorrow's dinner. Given a carb heavy starter, looking for a main course that is mostly protein and veg. I am getting a little tired of my go-to recipes of tagliata di manzo, salade nicoise,…

Hot Air Fryers?
I'm thinking of getting a hot air fryer. Do you have one? Does it work well? What model is it? How does it compare with a very hot fan assisted oven in terms of cooking results and energy usage? I guess most people use them for french fries, but could you do buffalo wings in one, for example? --Alice

Safe really non stick pans
I recently discovered my new stone coated pans are truly non stick. I bought them because I liked the design with removable handles which take less room to store. Then over the holidays I cooked something which should have been a sticky mess requiring scraping the bottom of the pan with wooden spatula to incorporate baked…

Elliptical or Recumbent Bike Recommendation?

Spiralizer for fat free potato chips
I used to do these chip replacements by slicing potatoes thinly in the food processor and laying them flat on a sheet of silicon mesh or silicon baking parchment. Spiralizer makes doing larger quantities feasible. Spiralize a scrubbed potato on the wide ribbon setting that just makes flat spirals instead of noodles. Salt…

Favorite leftover roast chicken ideas?
I'm getting a little bored of my easy leftover roast chicken recipe. Chopped chicken. Jar of commercial salsa, A chopped avocado. Very quick and tasty chicken salad. Any other ideas for leftover roast chicken?

Which HRM?
I think I need to declare my Polar FT4 to be dead. Transmitter has always been a bit erratic when the battery was low (zombie readings and occasionally heart rate jumping to 214 at rest). The transmitter has been replaced/repaired by the awesome customer service at Polar 3 times in the last two years. Now that I am past…

Spiralizer Ideas?
I am a new owner of a spiralizer. Tonight I made decadent carbonara with half of the spaghetti replaced with spiralized courgettes (zucchini). Was happy with the result. I "blanched" the spiralized veg for 2 minutes in the microwave before tossing in the sauce with the pasta. I guess I will next try other pasta sauces with…

Microwave potato chips
http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2008/08/healthy-crunchy-three-guilt-free-snacks.html I tried the potato chip recipe and was amazed that I got a good result. Seeing as I didn't have parchment paper at home, I used the following variation. Scrub a potato and slice thinly in a food processor. Lightly spray a large plate with…

Dehydrator recommendation?
I'm just starting to look into buying a food dehydrator for the first time. I am not doing a raw food diet or anything, so probably don't need super accurate temperature control. I just want to make beef jerky, and dehydrated vegetable chips for snacks. Currently doing these in a very low oven for several hours and…

Processed fish?
Processed meat such as ham and bacon gets a lot of bad press. Not just the sodium, by nitrates and nitrites Can anyone point to similar studies about processed fish? oil sprayer recommendations?
I just destroyed my oil sprayer by leaving it too close to a flaming hot wok. That said I wasn't 100% happy with the old one, as oil sometimes came out as a fine mist, and other times as a thin stream. Does anyone have brand recommendations for a new oil sprayer? I prefer a type where you can see how much oil is left in…

Hitting the Wall, Bonking
I'm curious about other people's experiences with hitting the wall or bonking. Because they had motorcycles holding back traffic at intersections,…

Who Has the Worst Office Food Culture?

Help with mysterious Spanish food products?
I got a hostess gift of some Spanish food, and don't know what to do with some of them. One item is a tin of Bacalao a la vizcaina.
