Need Motivation, Tips, and Accountability
Hello everyone! I made this account when I had a motivational kick one week in college and wanted to lose weight (hence the username). Now it’s 10 months post-graduation, and I’m 27 pounds heavier. I’m in my early 20s, 5’7” and 272 pounds. This week some of my clothes were fitting tight and I decided to check in and weigh…

Activity Suggestions for Obese
I’m starting my weight loss journey after coming to terms with my size. I currently weigh 272 pounds and am 5’7”, so quite obese. I never considered myself exceptionally out of shape or unathletic, and I’m still quite young (early 20s), but I started avoiding physical activity as I gained weight. So I guess I don’t know…

Friends Who Understand
Hello! I am new to this particular part of MFP. It seemed like a nice place to start, looking to meet people who understand what I'm going through. I have a goal of almost 100lbs to lose and no one around me is or has ever been my size. It's very hard to find true support from those who don't understand this struggle. They…

Down 10 pounds this month!
I had been doing WW on and off for the past year or so. Recently started tracking in MFP instead and have been amazed. I feel like I can eat so much more. Point values for sweets are so inflated on WW. With MFP, calories are calories. I am trying to watch my macros as well… I’m learning so much more about nutrition in…

Hey everyone, I’ve come to the realization that I often self sabotage and I can’t seem to figure out why. Has anyone overcome this? I know everyone is different and my reasons won’t be the same for everyone but I would love to hear your stories the good and bad. I have 100+ pounds to lose and haven’t made it past 50 lbs…

New-ish here…
Hi, everyone! I’ve had an account for a while, but I’m finally ready to get serious about losing weight. My husband and I want try to get pregnant, but my weight needs to come down first. It would be great if I also built habits that lasted. Ideally, I should lose 100+ pounds, and that feels super overwhelming. I’m working…

I know losing the weight is the best think and the right thing. I hate how I get so excited and am motivated for a few days and then it’s like someone shuts off my confidence and turns on the dread. Just had my birthday yesterday, passed the 40 year mark again...they say keep trying till you get it right...but 20+ times is quite a lot.. Sharing my success and journey!
I've lost about 64 pounds so far - started losing weight at 322 pounds, currently weigh around 258. I still have a long way to go (about another 100 pounds or so?), but I already feel successful. Exercising, eating healthily, having my body feel good. I'm much happier day by day than I used to be. I've decided to create a…

Making it happen -- for the first time in years.
Hi folks! Needed to share it out with someone. I've been logging calories for 5 days. I worked out today for the first time in probably 4 or 5 years. I bought myself some kettlebells, and a wrist device to help keep track of steps, heart rate, sleep, so on. It feels great to actually make it happen. I'm also making myself…

Returning to MFP
Hello everyone, How time flies! The last time I was on this app was 2.5 years ago. Unfortunately, since then, I've gained all the weight I've lost and then some. Now, I'm on a journey to lose 100+ lbs. If you're in the same boat and/or have a Fitbit, let's be friends! It always helps to have a handful of accountability…

Happy to find MyFitnessPal
I’m in my mid 50s and I feel like there’s still a lot of adventure left to live. I have more than 100 pounds to lose but my first big goal is to no longer fall into the “obese” range based on BMI. I’ll need to lose 70 pounds to achieve it.

So much has happened in 2 years...Back over 500
Over a decade ago I joined this app and it's changed a lot but so have I. In 2021 my Mother died and as much as I had thought I would not be so affected by it, I was truly devastated. I weighed 450 when she died and now I am up to 520. This year I finally decided enough was enough so I gave up all sweets cold turkey. I do…

Returning
I was on here about 5 years ago and lost 80 pounds. Then a lot happened and reverted back to my unhealthy coping mechanism: food and cocktails. I can feel it. My body is tired, I get out of breath, and the mental pain of my "failure" is adding up faster than I can say. The last couple years have been spent rehabbing my…
