Looking for some fun type 2 friendly meals and ideas.
Hi! I'm Kim and I've had very well controlled type 2 diabetes for a few years, but now my A1C is too high so I'm starting a journey to lose weight and get healthy! I would love to swap some recipes and make some friends who get it!

New ratio for my insulin and I'm not pleased.
Last checkup with my doctor in December, she changed the ratio of my insulin from 1unit to 15 carbs, to 1unit to 120 carbs. That was because I was having a lot of lows. So, 2 months into it, my meal time numbers are a little higher than I like. I'm not getting lows, so I guess it's working. I guess I'll see how my next A1C…

Got an A1C
I had a blood draw before an appointment next week. I had an A1C of 6.0 which is pretty much where I have been. I am staying the course with the diet, and that seems to be working for me. Hope all is well with everyone...

New to the group
I have type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 9. I am currently working on getting my blood sticks under 200 every day. I am struggling with what to eat and waking up in the middle of the night hungry because I’m struggling to eat enough every day. I have food allergies which limits my choices. I crave pasta! This is life and…

Off Topic but...
For the last week, whenever I call up MFP home screen, I get this screen that tells me it has to verify that I'm not a robot. It doesn't ask anything, just does the verify. Does anyone else get this? Is it new, or a glitch? thanks

Do you know any dietitian or nutritionists who use MyFitnessPal data?
My doctor referred me to his practice's in-house dietitian when I was first diagnosed 3 years ago. The dietitian had me keep a food log, so I set-up MyFitnessPal on my own to log my foods. With a metformin and some changes in my diet I was able to get my A1C down within 9 months. I had a few more sessions with the…

Trouble with Freestyle libre 2
I changed my sensor yesterday, so this is day 2 using this one. Since yesterday evening, it keeps losing the signal. So darn annoying. I've been using my meter and finger pricks in the meantime. I sent the replacement form to Abbott. They usually replace the faulty one for free. They're pretty good with replacing their…

Blood tests yesterday and today adventure
Yesterday I went for my 3 month blood tests. They couldn't get any blood. Not even when they took the needle out to try another place. So, I went back today to try again. I drank a lot of water last night and again this morning. I wore a jacket to keep my arms warm. I even used a heating pad in the morning to warm up my…

Week 2 on Metformin
On Sunday I increased my dose of Metformin from 1 pill daily to 1pill twice a day. Taking 1 in the morning with breakfast, and the 2nd with dinner. I have been feeling pretty good, and noticed that I am not as thirsty during the day, and am no long waking up with dry mouth. I am also down another lb. Total lost about…

I'm baaaack!
I've been away for awhile now. I wish I could say I've been busy, but I would be lying. I haven't been taking very good care of myself lately. My eating is out of control. My rheumatoid arthiritis is really bothering me a lot lately. If I go out for a slow, short walk(15-30 mins.) I am in pain for three days. Very…

Is there anyone active on this site?
It is May 6th, and as a nurse, I monitor my diabetes. When I discovered that I had type II Diabetes, I had an A1C of 10.6. I was the heaviest that I have ever been. Then I went to a conference and saw the difference in our blood with a blood sugar level of 300 vs 150. At 150 or less, our blood is tomato sauce, and at 300,…

New to the group
Hello my name is Alaina. I am 46, and married with a 20 year old daughter, and 17 year old son. Due to the stress and depression following my father’s passing last year, I turned to food for comfort, and put on quite a bit of weight. Two weeks ago, I got a rude awakening when my blood work came back showing that I had type…

Hi I am new here
Hey everyone, I’m new here. Joined before but never really got going. Anyway I am in much better head space now to tackle my long journey about 80lbs. I’ve been told by GP I am pre type 2 diabetic and don’t really know much about this. Any advice would be appreciated

You can’t run out your fork.
I’ve been diagnosed with diabetes about 20 years ago. Over the past 2 years I lost 55 lbs and moved my A1C from 7.2 to 5.9. Over the last six months, I gained 10 lbs back with the A1C now at 6.2. I’m physically fairly active but keeping my eating in check is at times a challenge. As they say, you can’t run out your fork.

Update to my on going pancreatitis nonsense.
No attacks since August, but still getting the contractions in my chest every once in awhile. Had an Endocopic ultrasound this week to see if they can find what's causing the pain. Answer, couldn't find a reason for my pain. So, I feel like a fool as usual. On the bright side, according to my meter, my A1C is 6.3%. Now,…

Newbie
I just started using the MFP app this week though I downloaded it a long time ago. I am a type 2 diabetic on Metformin. My doc is considering other options. I’m trying to improve my diet using this app. I have always been a bad carb eater so am looking for ways to up my protein and make good carbs taste better.

Hi everyone!
I’m new here but have been using MFP since 2009ish. Diagnosed T2D in 2012. Was on 2000 mg Metformin. Could never quite get consistent with anything. After reading about diabetes in remission via rapid weight loss and muscle gain, I started running to lose fat and doing complex lifts to bulk up after. MFP really keeps me…

Hey everyone! I'm Dave, T2 since 2013. I have never been able to get my BG under control so now that I am starting to see some advanced symptoms and my birthday in July I am making another push to get my sugar in check. I have made a lot of mistakes including just ignoring the problem which was a bad idea so here I am,…

Update on my Disability Tax Credit application.
It's been approved for the years from 2015 to 2028. They'll send me a letter in the mail that will probably explain how to apply to my taxes, my DTC number and other information. I am so glad I did this, and that it's been approved.
