Where do you have your MFP nutrient goals set?
I set mine at Carb 50%, Fat 25% and Pro 25%. About 1600 total calories. I do lose weight on this but I'm having trouble getting 104 Gm of protein a day, even eating greek yogurt, tuna, steak, etc. Curious where other people have theirs set. My goal is a balanced diet, can't/won't do Paleo or Atkins.

Neuropathy
Hi everyone. I've been having strange leg pain when I walk. I'm getting a needle test to determine if I have neuropathy. What can be done if I have neuropathy and how can I work out without pain? Does neuropathy spread and worsen? Thank you!

214g carbs?!
Two questions: At my Dr's appt 3 days ago (set up because I wasn't losing weight despite my efforts), my A1C for the first time was 6.5, but I have not been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes yet. My doctor wants to test again in 3 months before doing so. I am predisposed to have it because both of my had diabetes and they are…

Disappointing A1C results, any words of wisdom?
I managed to bring my A1c down from 8.4 in May to 6.7 (avg 146) in August. Yesterday it came out at 6.7, the same as last time. My doctor of course thinks that's excellent because my improvement was sustained. But I don't like it. I was disappointed and surprised. My daily BG readings have been consistently lower (at about…

Looking for T2D's that have reversed diabetes using LCHF
Hi all. Been looking for something on MFP that I've not yet found, so I decided to start a discussion on this. If there is enough of us I'd like to start a group. I'm looking for anyone else who has successfully reversed T2D with LCHF. I've been diagnosed for 4.5 years and have brought my a1c from a 12.7 to a 5.2. My drs…

Nutrita keto/nutrient density/insulin response app
Nutrita is creating an app to help people know how appropriate foods are for keyo/low carb, their nutrient quality and bioavailability, and the body's typical insulin response from that food... that last one is particularly useful to those of us in this group. :) https://nutrita.app/#modalEmailUpdates https://nutrita.app

What was your fasting BG today?
98 for me. My apologies to the group. I've somehow managed to make this topic vanish after attempting to make it a sticky once again after the upgrade. So much content from our groups' previous discussions didn't follow along with this upgrade. A challenging learning curve to be sure.

A way to beat dawn phenomenon? How to lower early morning blood sugar?
So I'm on 2000 mg of metformin extended release with an a1c of 5.5, average weight. My first morning blood sugar is consistently around 105. Is there any way to lower this number?

Illness and blood sugar levels
I'm new to this. I got my diabetes diagnosis (high a1c) 4 days ago. I've spent most of those days knocked flat by bronchitis. I just got my glucometer (Freestyle Lite) and strips today with instructions to test my blood sugar thrice weekly. I performed a check to ensure I knew what I was doing. It came back 418. Per the…

Looking for thoughts
Hi, I’ve been out of touch with this group so long, some may not know me. I was on T2 meds for a few years (Metformin-very briefly, Jardiance, Trulicity. Then was successfully diet controlled and off T2 meds for some time. My FBG is always high, back then around 120. In March I started a new job working 12-1/2 hour days.…

Question about stress
I've been following a low-carb/keto way of eating for about 6 months. I am also tracking my food in MFP and trying to stay between 1400-1600 calories on non-exercise days. I'd say overall for the first 4 months it went fine. I lost a chunk of weight. Then the next 2 months my weight kinda stagnated. I have the dual goals…

Good news for once!
I just got back from my doctor's appointment. She was thrilled with my weight loss and approved my decision to take myself off Metformin while she was on vacation a few months ago due to having regular FBG <100. She said that if my A1C was normal we could take the diagnosis off my records, I let her know that I prefer to…

Off the wagon and in denial
Well for the last 6 months I have not been watching my diet. My A1C is at 11! (6 months ago I was at 6.8) My morning BS readings are around 240. But I have lost a total of 25 lbs over the last 9 months which surprises me as I denied myself almost nothing in these last 6 months. I am supposed to be taking 1000 mg of…

A1C and fasting glucose do not match
My fasting glucose at home runs around in the 120s. Sometimes it is 110 sometimes 140, but usually around 125. My last blood test fasting glucose 136 a1C 5.5 later in the day, after i have been moving around it goes down to about 115. I take metformin in the morning and evening. The only other out of range result is I am…

Getting off medication? Type 2 diabetes.
Under what circumstances would it be appropriate to expect medical support for a decrease of medication, or even complete eventual withdrawal, in circumstances where improved lifestyle changes (better diet choices, finally exercising, etc) result in lowered A1C and fasting glucose numbers? Do medical professionals tend to…

Morning Exercise
Years ago, I always used to run in the morning before work, before breakfast or anything. I was trying to get back in the habit of morning running, but I’ve noticed my BG is higher after running, even on an empty stomach. I found an article discussing how the body releases glucose into the blood for energy, but apparently…

Chronic pancreatitis and diabetes.

The Magic Pill movie
Did anyone else see this on Netflix? It was very interesting. I’m skeptical of documentaries because I feel they can skew information to make a certain point, if they want to. But the info in the flick lines up with the more research-y things I’ve been reading (about diabetes & LCHF), so that made the other parts, like…

Snacks for T2
I thought I'd ask what you folks eat for snacks that are low or no carb. I don't eat a lot of snacks, but occasionally have extra calories left in my day. I'm avoiding chips & crackers (I prefer salty snacks). I often have salted mixed nuts. Occasionally Moon Cheese (it's expensive though). I roam the aisles of the grocery…
