Spectra Dew breast pumps?
Has anyone ever heard of this brand? From what I read on the Amazon reviews, it sounds like this company is very new to the US but has been in business in Australia and Europe. The reviews are generally excellent and compare it to a Medela hospital-grade pump (Lactina) and personal-use pump (Swing). No one compares it to…

Hot Tub - Yea or Nea?
We're going to my parent's beautiful lake house in Coeur d'Alene, ID for Christmas and they have a great hot tub overlooking the water... Dreaded Dr appt tom :(
Anyone else had to go thru a colposcopy while pregnant? I had my first ever abnormal pap prior to a miscarriage this past spring. Due to the miscarriage I wound up canceling my scheduled colpo, and never got around to rescheduling. Pregnant again, another pap (since it had been 6 months since my last) again an abnormal.…

Maternity Panties
Do you all just wear bigger underwear, or have you purchased maternity panties? If so, where? I remember buying some from Old Navy last time, but they were inexpensive (which was good because I wasn't going to wear them for very long) and fell apart before too long. As such, I will need to buy new ones, but Old Navy…

Convertible Car Seats?
Question for you ladies: I have a Britax Boulevard 70 CS (which they don't make anymore) for my son, and I like it well enough. The only complaints I have about it are that (1) when it's rear-facing, it takes up a ton of space (in my husband's car, we had to adjust the front seat, and in my minivan it actually comes up…

Braxton Hicks experiences
I wonder if anybody experienced Braxton hicks contractions? When did it started, and how often you had them? How long you kept the baby inside after the first one? I feel stupid not knowing anything about this, but I never had them with my firstborn. Back then, the very first contraction I had was on the night I went to…

Breastfeeding & Cloth Diapers
My first child I was working full time, and she was an ultra gaggy baby with a weak suck. All together is made breastfeeding virtually impossible. Needless to say she was bottle fed. My son was a screaming, tummy hurting mess, that felt as though he was sucking my nipple right off (we're talking scabs on my nips.) I tried…

It's free, too! They also have a nursing app. Do any of you have any apps that you have used or plan on using? Anything…

Moms with toddlers - question for you
Hey there, My son will be turning 2 in late January, so when I have this new baby, he will be 2 years and 4 months old. Right now he still sleeps in a crib and has never shown an interest in trying to get out (lucky me!). Obviously by the time this baby comes we will have to move him to a big boy bed (we're going to get…

Flu...ARGH!
Ladies, I am so upset right now, and posting this in hopes of some kind of reassurance. Here's the story: My husband's ex-wife did not get herself or my step-sons (ages 10 and 12) vaccinated. The 12 year old was in the ER last night, and it turns out he has the flu. I am so stressed. I can avoid visiting them, but my…

Any geriatric mamas? Advanced maternal age...ugh!
So apparently I am an old fart with decrepit old eggs  At the ripe old age of 38, I am considered advanced maternal age. Is it just me or does that just sound horrible? My doctor also happened to mention to me (after I told her how nervous I am) that I am at a 35% chance of miscarriage and there is nothing they can do…

pregnant and cold
Just wondering how anyone can cope with a sinus cold and being pregnant. My doctor told me I can have tylenol, neti pot, garggling and halls. But I am having trouble specially at night with my throat being so sore. I don't want to take anything that will harm the baby. Anything worked for anyone or any suggestions?

Calorie help
How do I know how many calories is the right amount? I have my goal set at 1600 but I go over that at night. I usually don't log my dinner calories as closet but I leave enough calories at the en of the day to not go over by an extensive amount. I'm 5'3. At my first appointment I was about 160. My midwife wants me to gain…

C25K in the first trimester???
Okay, so I've always wanted to become a runner, probably influenced by my avid runner father. I remember going to all his races and helping out when I was a kid. He still to this day runs about 6 miles a day at least 4 times a week. Yet, running has NEVER come easy to me, though I've tried to pick it up many times. Four…

Because you KNOW you want to talk about it...
I am not usually a watcher of the royal family, but it was announced earlier today that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (a/k/a Prince William and Kate Middleton) are expecting a baby. I guess they were not planning on sharing the news this early, since reportedly she is not yet 12 weeks pregnant, but she is suffering…
