Meg's Miles - virtual run for mother killed on 1/13
If you haven't seen this event on FaceBook, please check it out. Meg was a mother of 3 who was tragically killed by a drunk driver while on her morning run 1/13. To raise awareness of drunk driving, and staying safe while running, a virtual event has been scheduled for Saturday 1/18. Anyone can participate by logging your…

Unbearably sore legs
I need either stretching tips, or some kind of advice. I tried to start W2D1 of C25k today. Day one last week was fine. I felt energetic, and excited to start. But the second two days of week one were horrible! Same with today! I don't understand what's wrong. I do think my weight might have to do with it, but still. Does…

Megs Miles
Don't know if everyone has seen this on Facebook, but I wanted to get the word out about this movement that is happening. We lost a fellow runner this past week, due to a drunk driver. Meg Menzies, a mother of three, was killed by a drunk driver on Monday morning during her run. She was an avid member of the Richmond Road…

Breathing help
Hi! I just finished Week 3 of C25K and I'm loving it! My legs want to keep running forever. But my lungs? Not so much. I can't seem to get my breathing under control. I've tried all sorts of breathing patterns, including 3:2 rhythmic breathing, but mostly I feel like I'm hyperventilating. Any advice? Thanks!

Just started c25k!!
Hello everyone! I just finished w1d2 and so far I'm feeling good! I have been working out for a few years now, but only recently decided to get serious about what I eat and the intensity/frequency of my workouts. I've discovered that getting outside of my comfort zone is where I need to be in order to reach my goals. C25K…

logging c25k on mfp
I am on day 3 of week 1. I was wondering if there is a way to automatically send the exercise from the C25k app to my dairy on MFP?

Anyone on week 5
Hi! I've just started week 5 and I'm hoping there are others around the same stage for motivation? This seems to be the point that I've stopped a couple of times (because of other factors, time, work etc) and want to make sure I get through it this time! Would love to hear from anyone around week5/6! Ola

Mantras
Every runner has been there before. They have stepped up to the race line or onto the treadmill, not believing in themselves that they could accomplish what they have set out to do. They start running, and before you know it they are way behind in the race....or if they are beginners, have already stopped running well…

Song that got me through...
Today's song that brought it home was "The Devil Went Down to GA". Oh yeah.

I cheated...
So, I started the C25K program yesterday. Today, I went to the gym with the intention of doing a quick cardio warm-up to be followed by total body strength training. The ellipticals were all in use, so I hopped on a treadmill and got the bright idea to see how long I could maintain a jogging pace. I have done walk/jog…

Just started C25k!!
So, I just started this a couple days ago. I'm only on w1d3. But, i'm loving it so far! I'm guessing as i get further into the program it will last longer than 30 min? I'm doing it on a treadmill, my "brisk walk" is at a 3.5 and my run is at a 5. Does that sound about right? Or should my run be faster?

New to running...
...and I am excited to start on my C25K program! I was going to start this tonight on my regular workout day because the ground was clear but it decided to snow here a few inches over night :( Put a kink in my plan but I wanted to know if you can successfully start this on the treadmill? I'd like to start tonight but can't…

C25K Daily Challenge
We don't do many challenges here in C25K, because what you are already doing is a challenge itself. But I have a special daily challenge today. And this goes for everyone, those still doing the C25K program and the mentors who are still here offering support. Today's challenge: Commit 15 minutes to stretching. You can do…

First Day
I started the C25K Program today! First day went well, I'm using the phone app and I am hoping I can make it all the way. I am completely new to running and hope that I can learn to love it ;)

When to stretch?
Hello everyone so decided to give the programme a go. First session was a bit of a disaster my phone and ipod went dead so kinda had to jut estimate the timings. And it was lashing down but I stuck with it and it's a lesson learnt for next time. Anyway I've read so many stories about people getting various injuries through…

Had my first really bad run. :(
It was bound to happen but I feel tremendously defeated. I wasn't even supposed to run today. I was supposed to go to my karate class. My instructor had a sub and I just wasn't feeling it. I decided I would go for a run instead. I was looking forward to W7D1. I got in my winter gear and took the walk in the snow over to…

C25K Success Stories
I know we have the graduation thread and stuff, but we lack the success stories. Sometimes the push we need are seeing t he accomplishments that others have done. I know I did.... My success story actually started in October of last year. Some of you know that I am in the military, and for those of you who don't...well now…

Colorado Groupon
I'm not sure if I am allowed to post this here, but there is a $40 for $20 Groupon for Runners Roost. I don't know if this is specific to the Colorado locations, but it seems like a good deal. (I am in no way affiliated with either Groupon or Runners Roost, but I like me a good deal when I see one!)

So I'm pretty sure I have a broken ankle
Ate it on some wet stairs tonight, and yes I know I should have gone on to the ER but I didn't and so I have to wait until tomorrow to get the official damage report (I'm pretty sure it will read "expensive") And what was my first thought? I can't !@#$%^& run for a while! I guess that's a success story, because there was a…

Back for round two
I had to drop the running about 2 months ago for a back injury. I'm better (mostly) and I'm back for round two. Started Week 1 this week. I think it will be a little easier on the treadmill I got for Christmas. Here's hoping I can make it to the end this time!

Back at it!
Hello fellow runners. I am back doing the c25k again. I have been out of the running world for several months now, but I am back. Please add me :)

Re-Starting C25K
I enjoyed using C25K this year, and ran a PB (personal best time) 5K in May. After that, illness and injury sidelined my running. So, here I am, restarting C25K with plans to join a winter running program and work toward a 10K in May 2014. I have already completed Week 1 and am starting Week 2 today. I am trying to move…

Can I brag for just a second?
Today, Christmas Eve, I ran for TWENTY UNINTERRUPTED MINUTES. I know there are different C25K schedules based on which app you choose, but for me this was W7D1. I haven't run for that long all at once in a good decade- and before that I only did it once or twice when I tried C25K my freshman year of college. I was never an…

I finished!!!
So today I ran the last run of c25k. I only ran 2 miles in 32.5 minutes. But I am very proud of myself. I haven't ran a mile since elementary school, and never in my life 2 miles. So now I plan on working on speed and getting to that 5k mark. Thanks for reading.

Pace for the Vertically Challenged?
Hi All, I've been lurking for a while and finally am coming out of hiding to ask a question. I am doing the ZenLabs C25K with my iPhone and a treadmill. I just finished W6D2. I have tried C25K before but never gotten this far, so I do feel a bit of accomplishment. I have lost over 60 lbs and completed two 60-mile walks for…

Foot Issues
I am on W4D2 (ZenLab version) - and I couldn't finish the last 3 minutes of the 5 minute run. I'm having all sorts of foot problems - plantar fasciitis, numbness, aches - and I have not yet been able to find a comfortable shoe to support my high arch. Any one else out there with foot issues like me? What shoes do you use?…
-
Favourite running shoes
I am looking for a new pair so am curious... 1. What sort of runner are you ie neutral or over pronator etc and heel or forefoot striker. 2. What shoe do you LOVE 3. What have you tried and hated. Especially keen to hear from anyone who has successfully Overcome running niggles from changing shoes.

Need running partner
Anyone live around Thompson Ct.? I want to start running (more like jogging) but I need a partner to give me that push to do this with. We can motivate each other.

Starting again!
Trying this Couch - to - 5K again this week, in the past I've ALWAYS ended up with knee, back or other pains that made me stop, determined to keep going this time and get to the 5k successfully! Must ensure I always take time to warm up and cool down, maybe that'll help keep me injury free?
