Starting the program anew..
I had downloaded the app for my phone and began the C25K plan late last summer. Aug 1 my town got hit with a severe flood and I lost my home. Was displaced for a time and trying to finish college.. needless to say, I lost track of the running plan. I'm blessed to finally be settled into a new place to live and graduated…

Breathing help
Hello I am making very slow progress with the C25K. I am starting again after having a week off. I feel like I am never going to get better and I keep going from week 2 back to 1 then sticking at week 2 but I have a major issue with my breathing. Does anyone have any tips? I am fine to start with but then near the middle I…

missed a week and a half
I've missed the last week and a half and probably the rest of this week due to illness. I was 4 weeks into this journey but only finishing up week 2. Where do you think I should start when I can run again? Should I jump into week 3 and see if I can do it? Or start back at week 2 again?

New to C25K
Hello everyone! My name is Cassie and I'm currently 5'4" and 193lbs. I started trying to lose weight at the 1st of the year and am proud to say that with April right around the corner, I'm still working at it. I started at 215lbs! I just started the C25k program a couple weeks ago and so far, I'm loving it. My week 2, I…

Finished a run with a smile
Finished w4d1 before work. Most running thus far so I was a little nervous going in. But then the weirdest thing happend. At the end of the first 5 minute running stretch, I had more to give. That realization put a smile on my face because it gave me proof of my motivational thought "This is working and I can do this".…

W5 D3 tonight!
So tonight I'm running W5D3, which by my app is a 20min run with no walking, my first run that doesn't involve breaks...I remember when I first started on this programme, scrolling ahead to see what was to come, and just thinking NO WAY. But although I'm kinda nervous, I also have a weird feeling of excitement in the pit…

Post C25k group
Hi all, I love all the support I got from all of you during my c25k training. Now that I've graduated and am not doing the bridge to 10k plan I was wondering if there are other running groups that you are all a part of here on MFP. I'm trying to increase my weekly mileage base to a good 15 miles slowly and then give half…

Week 5, day 3...
I did day 1 on Monday, no problem. I did day 2 on Wednesday, no problem (though it was my slowest run yet). Day 3 today? Totally failed. I slowed down to 5.4mph. I feel like any slower and I'd be walking. I ran ten minutes, walked three, ran seven minutes, walked two, ran three minutes. So in the thirty minutes, I did…

New to running
HI, I want to start running. I have tried before but stopped because of shin splints. I have been eating clean for 2 weeks now. No processed foods, no dairy, no sugar, no gluten. I want to lose 20 pounds by June. I am 52 and had a hysterectomy just over a year ago. I am only 5' and curvy. The other thing I struggle with is…

Considering this program
I have looked at couch to 5k so many times. I have just been too lazy to begin. Sorry, but I am just being honest with myself! Anyway, I just joined so I could read more about it. Hopefully, you all can inspire me to start!

Fear of Falling
Ok .. well a bit about me. I am a walker (right now anyways and hope to be able to run soon) .. and am going to be starting C25K program in the next week. I am just waiting for the sidewalks to clear so I can use them. Winter time issues, no avoiding them. But my issue is that I have this fear of falling. I have not run…

Beginner help please?
3/13: Completed day one, week one. Felt a little sore after, but mostly proud. 3/14: Walked for half the day at an airshow (got a big, busted blister on each of my heels due to it). 3/15: Mostly rested. 3/16: Spent the entire day walking around a few amusement parks (over 7 miles in total). Now my question is, since my…

Running in the rain
I have started by 4 round of C25K. For the first time, this time all my runs are outside (I no longer have a gym membership). This week I ran on Monday and Wednesday. I should have pushed myself to run last night (Friday) but that is in the past. It is now Saturday morning, it is raining, and Cyclone Lusi is on its way. My…

Gonna start Week 5 on Sunday! *cue dramatic music*
Duh duh duh!!!!! :) Wish me luck, fellow C25kers.....

What cued you to rest longer or repeat a week?
If you took an extra rest day or didn't move to the next level when you were supposed to what triggered that decision? Sore knees would definitely slow or stop me. But what about just tight calves? I want to move on to Week 3 but can't decide whether I am being reckless or a baby.

entering exercise
How do you enter a C25K workout? Fast walking? Jogging? I'm not sure, since it's part walk/part jog.

Increase pace?
I've been doing the program on a treadmill since the beginning (convenience and weather related). Yesterday it was nice out so I decided to "test" myself and run outdoors. It was Week 3 Day 3. I found myself walking (~4MPH) and running (~6MPH) faster than I usually go on the treadmill (3.5MPH/5MPH). These readings, of…

Starting Tomorrow!
My aunt and cousin did this last year and they ran and completed a 5K! My aunt has challenged the women in our family to do it too. I am starting Week1/Day1 tomorrow! I did try this yesterday but only got about half way before I was dying. My aunt told me I need to slow down. So tomorrow I am going to take it easy. I am…

Staying in touch with C25K'ers here
I'm new here ... not sure if this is the right posting board for this but I'm looking for a place to hear about your victory days or even down days and share mine with C25K. I've got week 8 day on for tomorrow and am feeling pretty good with it. Where are you on the training?

running music
I need some new music! Any ideas on good running music?

Where should I restart?
I was at W9D2 when I got achilles tendonitis and I haven't been able to run in two weeks. I think I'm ready to get back on track and I'd like to give it a try tomorrow, but I'm not sure where because I haven't exercised at all during these two weeks. What would you recommend?

Is this a good plan?
I graduated yesterday! Yippee for me! I ran 3.2 miles in the 35 mins run yesterday. What I plan to do is run 35 mins every other day this week and increase my run time to 40 mins next week. I plan to increase my run times by 5 mins until I hit 60 mins. Is that a good game plan? I have no races that I have signed up for. I…

First 5K: What to expect
After months of running, training, and building up, it's official -- Sunday morning at 9am, I'll tackle my first ever 5k race. There's a healthy amount of anxiety about it, but also a ton of excitement. I didn't see any general threads about this, so I thought it could be useful and fun to have a place to collect tips,…

Some running motivation - stories
Hi fellow runners I started C25K in November 2013 and am now building up to 10km. So far I'm really enjoying it and surprised myself by running for 45 mins this morning - my longest run ever. I was checking a news website from home (New Zealand) and noticed a section where readers have submitted their stories about…
