Doing my own C25K this time around.
I just turned 49! I tried a running program with Fleet Feet Sports in 2012 but had to quit after getting an ankle stress fracture. Now, almost 2 years later I am trying to run again. This time on my own and in my own time at my own pace, so hopefully, no injuries this time around. I'm running on a dirt & gravel greenway so…

Starting Today!! So scared!!
I'm starting today. I'm dressed to go to the YMCA, and I'm publicly committing myself to this program. So scared, so excited, mostly nervous!!! I would love new friends doing this too, as I need the accountability, and encouragement. Wish me luck, and I'm happy to encourage any others too!!

Hi All, I am just curious If anyone else has come across a plateau or weight loss stall since starting C25K My weight loss has been on a 2 pound up and down fluctuation since starting , I am on week six and it has taken about 8 weeks to get here. ughhhhh so annoying I did a little research on google and see a few things…

Newbie question
I'm just wondering if anyone is going a little longer on the last run interval on day 3? I'm going to do W1D3 on Monday and try on the 8th interval to run as long as I can... maybe a little psyching myself up for the increase for W2. I'm finding this first week pretty easy and feel I could run a bit longer.

Newby C25K
I have been walking 3 miles 2 or 3 times a week. I think I will continue this for several weeks. Not sure how much of a base is needed or desired.

Do knees ever....get better, with C25K?
I went through the last year's worth of posts, and saw very little related to knees. Some background: I'm a beginning runner, don't have an app (yet - thrilled to see the app review sticky post, which I will check out thoroughly), I was just sort of 'creating my own' program. I'm 5'1", just turned 40, about 135 lbs, so not…

Running Magazines
Hello everyone, I downloaded some of my running magazines to the iPad last night, since it's a free subscription via my library. Check with yours whether they have signed up for RB Digital Gateway and you might get them, too, to read on the Zinio app. It hit me there might be someone else out there reading the same stuff,…

Shoulder pain while running
Hey everyone! Lately, I have been getting sharp pain at the top of my right shoulder (at the acromioclavicular joint) while I run. I'm thinking it is because I am keeping my upper body too tense. I've tried stretching my arms and shoulders before I run and keeping my hands open during the run (I imagine that I look like I…

Hi, Just finished week 4 day 1. I was a bit intimidated but I did it, very proud of myself. :)

Doesn't feel like I am improving.
I started losing weight at the end of January, and have lost 32lbs so far. After a few weeks of just walking, I decided to start jogging a bit (I hadn't run since being forced to do cross country at school about 20 years ago), so I did that for a couple of weeks just doing my own thing, walking, jogging, walking. Then I…

Back again!
I was here last year and completed the program, although I was pregnant for most of it. My doctor made me stop and now I'm back to square one! Lots of timing issues because my husband's job takes him away for days at a time and the newborn can't sit in a jogger yet...but I'm going to give it a go anyway. I'd love run a…

New 'Round These Parts
Good evening! I just joined the group and wanted to say hello. I have started the C25k program several times in my life, but I've never finished it. I am currently between Week 3 and Week 4. What I mean by that is that I tried to move to Week 4 and just about died ( ), yet Week 3 is a lot less challenging than it…

MFP not giving accurate "credit" for C25K workout
So, while I know this isn't really the point, I am just sort of curious if anyone else notices that MFP seems to really short change you on the cardio credit from your workout?? Today I did W2D3, which totals to walking 22 minutes and running 9 minutes. I tracked my distance to be 2.2 miles (and did it two different ways…

Pushing myself too hard?
Today I completed week 2 day 2 of the program and I am LOVING it. My body isn't hurting (like it was last week...oh man, my legs and hips were killing me), but the problem I'm having is with endurance. I'm REALLY out of breath at the end of the running intervals, and my run is as slow as I can go without walking. I can get…

Running 2 sessions back to back
Hi everyone  I was wondering if anyone repeats sessions back to back. I've been doing the C25k app on a treadmill/park and realised that each time I completed a session (26 mins) and I only ran 3.3km. So for the past couple of weeks I've been running sessions twice so that I run over 5k. Should each c25k session…

Acclimating to Summer Running.
Hey everyone. It has been a long time since I posted a new informational post. With the warmer weather finally rolling in and summer coming, I think it is a good idea to discuss what to expect with running in the summer. Yes, there will be sweat and heat. But there is a lot of other things you will need to consider.…

How to increase speed?
Hi Everyone!! I finished the C25K program couple of weeks ago... I am able to do the entire 30-mins without stopping - I vary the speed between 4.5 mph and 5 mph  I want to continue working on improving my speed. How can I do that? Should I try and run for a longer time on some days? Or just keep increasing my speed…

Running Back to Back/Schedule
Hi I've done week 1 of C25k. My issue is I want to get into a routine for when I run. I work part time and I'm a full time student. I work Monday, Tuesday and Friday. As winter is coming where I live I can't run before or after I work, partly because I can't run in the dark and I hate the cold. This leaves me with…

Auto pause in C25K app ?
Ok .. well did day 1 of the C25K today .. and for the most part successful. Except for one thing ... no auto pause feature. Like .. sorry a total failure. I had to stop at a traffic light .. twice and well my smartphone is in my pocket. So I am not going to haul it out to manually pause it. So .. I missed one of the…

Slowing down
Most of the runners I know want to speed up. But I am struggling with the long runs and think I need to slow down. Any suggestions on how to do this? Finding it difficult to find the right pace. Advice greatly appreciated.

Can I reasonably do a C25k in 4 weeks?
.My community is offering a fun run on May 17 and I'm wondering if it's a reasonable goal to work up to the 5K in 4 weeks? All I really want to do is run it without stopping for 3.1 miles. In the past 6-7 years I've been able to run 3 miles without stopping but haven't run much in the last year+. Lately I've been doing…

Buying running shoes
I was wondering what do people do to evaluate if the running shoes they are buying are good enough while at the store. I would like to start running but every time I have bought running shoes my feet hurt a lot. This is really discouraging to me.

Running Buddies
Hey all. My running history is brief, began about a year ago and kept at it 3-4 times weekly through fall. Fell in love with it, but became ill and sat most of the past winter out. I did manage to get a few runs in here and there on good days, but am just now comfortable enough with my body to trust that I can listen and…

The Ultimate Running Playlist
Hi Folks! I'm a keto dieter and I'm about to start running using Zen Labs' C25K iPhone app. I'm looking for help finding some running tunes. What's your favourite running jam? Maybe if we pool our favourite music, we'll create an Ultimate Runner's Playlist. I'll start: 'PURE SHORES'........ All Saints 'PERTH'…

Twice a week instead?
Hi all, So I've tried C25K before and always given up around weeks 3-4 but I'm determined to change my lifestyle now that I am living on my own without roommates to distract me from my plans and I would really love to try this again. However, with my schedule, I just don't have time to run 3 times a week right now. So…

Rest days
Ended up running W1D2, W2D1, and W2D2 back-to-back-to-back. :embarassed: That's what I get for skipping my Friday run last week. So glad its a rest day today! On that note: what do/did you do for rest days during the early weeks? Background: Active duty military, diagnosed with exercised-induced asthma 14 months ago, just…
