What do you use to track your run's?
I'm currently using Strava, but I like the bells and whistles of RunKeeper. Any suggestions? If anyone uses Strava would you like to add each other to help keep us motivated?

Newbie with a question!
So I started the C25k program on Monday and literally just finished day 2 and I was wondering what is considered 'running'? I generally walk at 3mph and on Monday I "ran" at 4mph but ended up with groin muscle soreness the next day (I also mistakingly forgot to stretch before my workout) so today I walked at 3mph and ran…

Annoyed with carrying phone and headphones- GPS Watch?
So I've been doing the C25K thing and it is going well. But I do not like carrying my phone and headphones when I run. In the pocket is really annoying, and I tried an arm bad and found it only slightly less annoying. Im seriously considering getting a GPS watch so I dont have to carry anything. My research shows they are…

Just started the program today
Hi, all! I just started the c25k program today. And let me tell you, I have always hateddd running with a purple passion. I haven't been horrible at it, I guess. Back in high school for those physical fitness tests, I could run (with some walking) a mile in 8 minutes and something (I know, maybe that's not impressive to…

New to the group and saying hello!
Hi all! I just found this group today but finished week 5 of C25K yesterday. I started as a total non-runner. The one mile intervals seemed like torture. But, I kept on keeping on and here I am 5 weeks later and I am LOVING running! I did the solid 20 minute, no stopping run yesterday with ease. I started the program with…

How far do you run?
I'm not on the C25K yet, I'm still building up a basic fitness base before I attempt it, but I am doing my own interval running. It's the same principle as the C25K, just shorter running and longer walking. Anyway, I noticed that during my first week of running (30 seconds running, 2.5 minutes walking, repeat 8 times with…

Advice on exercises to accompany the c25k
I had started the c25k about a year ago and got really far with it. I wasn't working so I had a lot of free time. I felt great and lost about 15 pounds. All over I felt more toned and I could see and feel a difference. Then I started working and stopped, which is no excuse at all, I should have been more organized. I want…

What do you run with?
I used to run with just my phone to mark distance and intervals, and a 1l bottle of water. Lately I've been experimenting with bringing my dog and some music along. I'm not sure I liked the music part, but the dog part was pretty fun, so I'll bring her again. However now that I'm starting to get into some longer (for me)…

What do you guys use for cross training?
I feel that this program has really increased my energy and motivation, leaving me antsy on off days wishing I could go for a run. What do you guys do for cross training on off days?

Question for those with experience
I want to do a Monday Wednesday Friday thing for this, but I really feel like running today. I'm in week two and wanted to kind of just run today and see what happened. Is it ok to just run as far as possible on an off day?

New to c25k...have a ??
I am just starting c25k and was wondering how to skip ahead a couple of weeks? I purchased the pro app and when I finished w3/days 1&2 it automatically told me congrats on completing c25k w1/days 1&2 and synced it to mfp. I'm not new to exercise-I regularly strength train and enjoy running on alternate days from my weight…

Is it normal?
So I have been running for awhile but I should have been using the c25k schedule because I was running for 3 minutes and walking for 1 but never got over that time. Figured out that I probably need to take more of a rest period between runs in order for my body to recover enough to up the run times. I seem to run as slow…

Started today!
Got a fitbit one for Father's Day and thought now would be a great time to get into running to get those steps. Finished week one day one today. Just thought it would check in with everyone. Have a great day!

Unable to Complete 1 Day
Did anyone else have to work yourself into day 1? For the last week and a half I've tried my best with this program, repeating wk1, day1 at least 5 times. I can get to the a little past the half way mark before my body says "nope not today", mainly my lungs & chest. Now I have recently stopped smoking, from 1 pack a day…

Slowest runner at the race
So I have completed my 3rd 5K in three months and this was the best/worst one....best, because I ran a lot of it (1 mile, followed by two 5 min walk/run interval, then finished the last K running - 42 minutes!), worse because they had no one at the finish line waiting to cheer anyone. People were leaving and everyone else…

Need Advice about Knee Injury
Hello. I got into a head on car accident in 2008 in which I passed out at the wheel and I hit a pole. I was limp upon impact so I somehow survived because of that. Anyways, I bashed my knees against the dashboard during the accident and they've never been the same. None of my doctors will really address it...they say just…

Much slooooower in the heat?
I just really dove in and ran in real HEAT yesterday...it was like 89 degrees with a heat index of 97 I believe, at around 7pm....it was disgusting, no doubt. I ran on a fairly wooded trail and stuck to the first part of the trail that has the most trees and just did a couple "laps" of that part. But...I was WAY slower…

Treadmillin' it! Want to be friends?
I am doing c25k again this summer. I completed it last summer. I was wondering if any of you wanted to be friends so we could cheer each other on? I'm on week 3 day 2. My large goal is to be ready for the Hot Chocolate 5k/15k run in November in Chicago :)

New and Nervous
Hi, y'all. My name is Deanna. I have just signed up for my first 5K (a color vibe race) in September (my birthday weekend). I'll be running with my best friend (an avid runner who's run multple half marathons.) I'm a nervous wreck that I won't be able to run the whole race. Running a 5K is on my bucket list. I want to be…

Increasing distance
So I've "graduated" the program (I can run 30 min nonstop), but I can't seem to run any longer than this. My hips hurt, my legs get tired though my lungs could keep going. I tried breaking up the running today... 10 min intervals with 1 min walks between, but I had to stop 1 min into the last interval. (this is week 9 day…

Dissapointed :(
I am so bummed with myself right now!!! Today was supposed to mark my last week in C25K--my 28 minute run. I only made it about 21 minutes today (and had to dig deep for that) before my legs got all wobbly on me and I totally hit a wall. I'm fairly certain that it was a combination of the heat (it's nearly 80 here this…

I signed up for my first 5k in September
Hi All, I am NOT a runner or even a walker. I usually do the elliptical for my cardio portion. But I have gone and done it - signed myself up to run my first 5K in September. My dear husband looked at me like I was out of my freaking mind. I started my C25K program on Monday - stuck to the whole program for this first…

NEWBIE!!
Hi everyone, I am new to this group and started C25K yesterday. A bit of history about me: I am 34 with 2 children (14 & 12), I was diagnosed with Crohns about 8 years ago, but have been in remission for alomost 5 years now. I have been on MFP for about 2 years just over, I originally lost 21lbs between March 2012 and June…

Question about run time?
Hello all! I just completed week 7 and ran 3.8 km in the 25 minute interval. Assuming I did the math correctly, that puts me on track to complete 5 km in about 33 minutes. Up until 7 weeks ago I'd never run before and was wondering if this is a decent run time?

My hips make me feel like I'm 90...
Does anyone else deal with "crunchy" hips?? Every time I stretch, it sounds like I'm crushing bones, lol. I've always had this to a mild degree, but it seems to be getting worse as I continue to run regularly. It's not really painful, just annoying.

We started c25k today
My husband and I started this today. He wasn't able to run the entire time so I would walk back to him when it was time to walk again. My daughter, 27, wants me to do a 5k with her so she is going to do this with us too. She did cross county in high school so I may have trouble keeping up with her.
