Question about your week 8
So my app doesn't give me anything past w8d1 28 minute run. What do your apps say to do for days 2&3??

Jantastic
Hi everyone! I signed up to Jantastic yesterday and there is a group on there for MFP Runners. Anyone want to join? You set your own goals so there is no pressure to try and keep up with everyone else. It is also a great way to keep up your motivation in the New Year. Hope to see some of you there!

I've lost 6 lbs so far. double yay. I'm not as hungry maybe because my stress level has decreased and its not because life has just changed over night , I…

Outside safety
I want to run outside more but I workout (including running) alone. What safety precautions do you use when running alone (if any)? Do you take pepper spray and if so how do you carry it? I don't live in a bad area but I don't want to do anything stupid or naive either.

Anyone starting today 12/2/14?
Hello, I'm starting my C25k this evening when I get off work. Anyone out there that wants to start with me? Feel free to join in and add me. Best of luck to the rest of you :)

Finally did it!
Big moment for me - I finally took the plunge and started the C25K last night! We joined a gym a few weeks back, then I got hit by a nasty cold, so I haven't gone much. Last night, I went, and even though I was the fattest person in the gym, and I was jiggling like jello as I jogged on the Dreadmill.. I DID IT!! And I only…

any gastric bypass patients who have gained some wt back here
I am dealing with regained 30lbs. I started this program yesterday because I've always wanted to run but never would because of my weight and low self esteem. I am in hopes that this will help jumpstart my weight loss and help me lose it once and for all. I feel like I have forgotten how to eat as a 12 year post op . help.…

Good days, Bad days - Correlation?
Hey guys! So last Monday I had my best run ever. 3km solidly at 12km/hr (exc. warm up / warm down). My stamina has never allowed me to do anything like this before. I tried to repeat this on Thursday and absolutely died! Didn't get anywhere near. Then I tried today (Monday), and managed a great run again! I'm trying to…

I'm Back!
Sup everyone! You may not know who I am, but I was here a long time ago. Decided to delete my account and reformat it (has a bunch of drama babies as friends and just got fed up with it, lol). As far as running, I started about 2 years ago. I went through the C25K to start, and will be running my first full marathon in 4…

When will I love running?
I'm one day away from finishing the C25K! Yay! But every run I take still feels like a trudge. I'm only doing it to get through the specified time. I'm SOOO focused on the time that I don't really enjoy the actual running. So when did you start liking/loving running? When does it become easier/more fun? I've really enjoyed…

Ran my first 5k on Saturday!
It was just a local fun run. There were 90 people including kids and a running club. I finished in 39:47 with a goal of under 40 minutes! I wrote a blog about it here on MFP if you're interested: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/jessiruthica/view/100-days-25-pounds-and-5-kilometers-708519 Thanks to the C25k program for…

Women - What do you wear?
I started the program 3 weeks ago. I have been wearing yoga pants and a regular t-shirt, but the shirt drives me nuts when I'm running. I feel like I'm suffocating and it gets all twisted around me. Could anyone recommend a comfortable shirt for someone that's not on the thin side. Thank you!!

tracking distance.
I have the mapmyrun app and thats what I was using to track miles before c25k. But my Phone is cranky when I try and run two apps at once. How do you all track your distance?? Are your phones just cooler than mine? Lol.

First 5k
I ran my first 5K this past weekend. It was wonderful! I was literally on cloud 9 the whole day because I was so amazed that I did it. I can't wait to run in more races.

Headaches
While running my W7D2 today (fairly good run, except my phone died halfway through - gah!), I very developed a headache in the back of my head, right at the base of my neck (on either side of my spine). I cannot absolutely rule out non-running causes (stress or dehydration), but I'm wondering if anyone else gets headaches…

need advice
i started doing this program in the summer and was into my third week when i injured my knee. Does anyone else have any tips on how to keep from aggravating my knee, I loved doing my runs and would love to get back at it.

New to C25K
I thought I would start a thread to capture my progress and journey with C25K. Until I started reading the posts about beginning running on here I had never even heard of C25K. It seems like a good program, and I downloaded the app on Friday, 9/26. On Saturday, 9/27, I did a half-century bike ride for a local charity, and…

Anyone doing each week twice?
I completed C25k for my first time in May (ran/walked my first 5k in July with a 39:24 finish) and I haven't gone running much since. I'm looking to start for my second time this upcoming week, but I plan to do each week twice. Is anyone else currently doing that or planning to do that? I'm aiming to run my next 5k at…

How many people start this program but fail to finish?
I was reading a post on a different site regarding the percentage of people who start C25K to how many actually finish it and continue running. It was something like 10% if I remember correctly. Motivation is a big key in maintaining any program, and everyone who starts is motivated by something. For me, it is better…

Pain above the ankle?
First off I'm well aware I need new running shoes and a gait analysis at my local running store but that's an hour away and off the table until I've saved up enough for books. So does anyone have any stretches I can do to ease off pain? Its just above the ankle on the outside and goes up about 3 inches. That muscle feels…

Stupidest problem...Armband/Headphones in the way
Hey guys so this is not me making an excuse to stop running lol. I just recently bought one of those armband things which you can put your phone in, and I tried it once yesterday and it was a lot more annoying than I thought. There was so much headphone wire (standard Apple headphones), I tried looping it below my arm but…

Disappointing 5K
So I have been doing the C25K program all summer. I tried to start in March but developed bursitis in my knee so had to take time off to heal. Started again in June and (knock on wood) haven't had any injuries since. I have had a few interruptions and have had to repeat several of the weeks so progress has been slow. I am…

Looking for fellow new runner friends
Hi guys, I've just finished C25K and am getting really into my running, making this a part of my life and hitting new goals. But I don't have anyone to share my new running enthusiasm with! My friends and family think I'm nuts and my MFP friend list is rather lacking in fellow runners. Any other new runners whether just…

Newbie Here
Hello all! My name is Amy from San Diego. I just started the C25K today, though been thinking about it for quite sometime. I have been trying desperately to get back into shape for some time now and lose a bunch of LBs. I tried the 30 day shred but downgraded to Beginner Shred. My problem is that I can only do that at…

Treadmil vs road running
Holy hell on a 40 pound cracker! I've been doing pretty well, and quite pleased with myself, running the C25K on the treadmill. A good pace, which I've been increasing, good body posture, easy cool down. Made it through week 4 (twice) with really no trouble. Then Sunday morning I "ran" in my neighborhood. Could NOT get…

So I "graduated" but....
Yay for me, I can run for 35 minutes without stopping! I feel awesome! I love running! But. I'm nowhere near running a 5k. I am the Slowest Runner Ever. In 35 minutes, I'm finishing a little over 2 miles. Runkeeper says that my pace is a mind-blowing 15:30. I'm pretty sure I walk faster than that. I have GOT to get my…

Does a Treadmill Count?
I've seen so much negativity on various threads on the boards about using a treadmill as the tool. I for one don't mind it and find it most convenient for my life. I also don't like the thought of running outside on the harder pavement. Perhaps some day my view may change, but for now it's the view I hold. So - if getting…

I DID IT!!
I ACTUALLY RAN ALL NINETY SECONDS! And then - then I did it again! I had this huge dorky grin on my face as I was chugging down to the sidewalk to "I'll Make a Man Out of You" and the timer went off and I was still jogging. I'm so happy. I can actually do this!

W3D1 Completed but SOOO SLOW
Hi, this is my 2nd go around at the C25K program and I quit last time at week 3 because of bad shin splints and I think I was just going too fast (still probably super slow to others). The first 2 weeks I was running at around at 12:20-12:30 pace during the running intervals and was doing great. Today I had to slow way…
