Any suggestions for learning running form?
I'm on Week 3, Day 2 and wondering if I'm running with goof form. At this point, all I focus on is keeping my back straight, and soft footfalls (as much as I can!) to lower the impact. I am considering the SafeRun run analysis program several universities have put together--perhaps soon, perhaps when I've completed the…

You are at work and all you can think about is running.

I am on W3D2 and still am not sure how fast I should be running. At 4.5, I am not able to hold a conversation but I walk at 3....help!!

C25k to a half marathon-A success story!
I wanted to come back here and share how c25k basically changed my life. I have been pretty sedentary most of my life, with a year or two of exercise here and there when I had money for a gym. A year and a half ago I started c25k. I could barely run the minute multiple times. I remember the first time I ran 3 minutes…

transitioning from treadmill to great outdoors?
I have never been a runner. Until now. I am almost done with week 6 (yay!) and really loving it (double yay!). The past 4 weeks have been done on my treadmill at a very modest pace (-- indoors as it has been the 8th coldest February on record!!!). The weather this morning said that next weekend it is going to be in the 30s…

eek just signed up for first 5k color run
So I am new here and I just signed up for my first 5k color run that is in the middle of May. I haven't ran much in a long time. Now I know you don't have to run in these events but I would like a try. Any ideas of how to start training?

Any older folks doing this?
I'm 68 and 20 kgs overweight. I've been looking at C25K for ages and would love to do it, but worried about how my body would cope. I don't have any health problems and don't want to cause any! I walk regularly but would like to step it up a bit and give this a try. Any encouragement from older C25Kers would be appreciated!

Nausea while running
During my last 2 runs, I've become nauseated about 3/4 of the way through my run. Today I had to stop and walk a few steps to make sure I wasn't going to get sick. I was able to get back to jogging fairly quickly, once I was sure I wasn't going to be ill. I've done a bit of Googling and see this is fairly common. I'm not…

Not sure where to start
Hey guys! I tried C25K once before over the summer and I let it go when my mom passed away. I've always really liked running but I wanted to structure it a bit so I could eventually run a 5K. My issue when I did it the first time and the issue that I'm running into now is that I have no idea where to start. Starting from…

Week 5 day 3- I did it!
I am so proud that I jogged for the 20 minutes without stopping. 6 weeks ago I was puffed out after a 60 second interval, today I wasn't out of breath after the 20 minutes! My legs were aching though. I am also very proud that as of this morning, since starting c25k and MFP 6 weeks ago, I have lost 10kg (22 pounds!)

Week 5 Day 2, complete!
I am excited and proud of myself this evening! I completed W5D2 tonight and I have no clue the last time I was able to run that long. Even though I completed the workout, I had to fight off my mind a lot during the second round of running. My brain says "you're tired" "you want to stop" etc etc but my breathing was solid…

Running outdoors, come rain or shine!
Does anyone else run outdoors even if the weather isn't favourable? I don't have a gym membership, nor do I have a treadmill at home. I run in the dark or the light, and while I won't make a huge effort to go outside if it's pouring down, it has to be very heavy to stop me going out. I've been caught in snow and hail and…

Repeat week or decrease speed?
I did Week 4 Day 1 today. On Week 1 Day 1 I was walking 3.5mph and running 5mph. Week 3 Day 1 I had to drop to 4.8 mph on the running. Today I dropped the walking to 3 mph and the running to 4.5 mph.... except the last 2 1/2 minutes when I dropped it even further to 4.2 mph.... which is basically a fast walk. I think I…

Injured already?
Hi all, It's taken me a while (almost a 8 months) to psych myself up to start Couch to 5K and went for my first run yesterday. (So yes I've researched the hell out of it before I began.) I did the warm up, managed the session, cooled down with stretches and felt very proud of myself. Today I woke up with a really achy calf…

Running in the rain
For those that use their phones/electronic devices to track their runs, what do you do when it rains? Is there a trick to making sure your phone stays dry, or do you leave it at home? Water proof case? Ziplock baggy? Also, are there any dangers of running in the rain besides the obvious about getting cold and lightning…

C25K...Starting 1/27/15 wanna join me???
I'm starting the program tomorrow. I completed c25k about 4 years ago but I didn't continue running. I haven't worked out consistently in about a year. I've started and stopped the program a few times over the years. I like running intervals and my ultimate goal is to be able to run 30 minutes non stop. So I thought to…

New Here
I am very out of shape(and overweight) so i am starting out with some moderate and will increase to vigorous walking over the next couple weeks before moving into Wk1 of C25K to avoid injury(and disappointment). My goal is to start WK1D1 on Mon Feb 23. In the meantime, like i said, i'll be walking and educating myself, but…

New to C25K - Not New to Running
Hello, My name is Dan. I am 39 years old and I am in better shape now than I have been in in a long time. I joined this group because I want to run a 5k. I am not new to running (I used to run long distance in high school - even though that was a long time ago). I am jogging/running before work 3 to 4 times a week for 20…

iPod Touch
Does anyone use an iPod Touch to record their runs? Does it even work like that? Here's my issue: all my songs/audiobooks/podcasts/anything-I-ever-want-to-listen-to-while-I'm-running are all on iTunes, BUT I have an Android phone. I've been thinking about getting an ipod touch just for running, but I don't know if it will…

Increasing calories after finishing program
i finished the C25K program Jan 26. I have had five solid runs since completing the program. However, my last two runs this week I have had to stop early. I am exhausted during my runs and have never felt that way before. I'm wondering if Ive been running on too little calories and my body may need more now my calories…

Anyone doing c25k distance instead of time?
Hi. I'm just curious to know if anyone is doing the distance version of this program. I'm doing the program all on the treadmill. I'm only in w2, but so far I'm having a little trouble with keeping up with the time. I have an app on my phone that will ding when its time to run/walk. However, my headphones are plugged into…

A SUCCESS story to inspire you and an upcoming interview with Author Matt Fitzgerald!
Hi folks, Nine years ago I started right where you are today, trying to wrap my head around running 5k. It took about three weeks of jogging/walking to finally be able to lightly jog 5k without stopping. I have a unique story in that I was kind of like Forest Gump, I ran every day for three years because I made a…

Advice for early mornings?
Hi everyone, I just finished W1D3 (x2 because I've repeated W1) and I'm discouraged by my Friday runs. I've been really fortunate to have a schedule that allows me to work Friday-Sunday 12+ hour shifts, so I have Monday-Thursday off to take time and work on my fitness goals. My Monday and Wednesday runs are going well and…

Running Gear
Does not having it increase the chance of failure? I have some good running shoes and my gym clothes, but reading over the gear it seems I missing much. Right now it's not financially feasible, is it something that if you are serious abut wanting to run you make money for?

2/1 - Week One
My sister-in-law and I are starting C25K next week and I'm wondering if anyone is starting the same time to keep eachother on track. This is my SIL's first time doing C25K and my second time. I finished the first time 3 years ago and got up to running 10k nonstop (slowly lol). Looking forward to getting back out on the…
