Variation of C25K Program
I have my first 5k scheduled this Saturday & have only made it to week 4 of C25K. At first I really struggled with it, so I decided to approach it a little differently. Yesterday I wanted to push myself so I sort of made up a variation of week 4 but added some extra to try to get more prepared! Prior to this I never made…

I completed C25K this morning!
This morning I did my W9D3. C25K done, and it's a strange feeling. OK, it's done... now what? I think I'll keep running and try to go for half marathon distance. I'm a 189 cm (6'2") tall guy, slightly overweight - but I lost a lot of weight by running (and eating less, and also a bit of lifting), and MFP has been…

Anyone using RunKeeper?
I'm using RunKeeper app for my C25K program, and it's so much different than everyone else's! All these people are doing. Week 3 or 4, and talking about how nervous they are to move on to the next week. My week 3: Day 1- 45 minute brisk walk or light jog Day 2: rest Day 3: 2 mile run (walk some if you must, but run as much…

It's supposed to rain all week
That's not going to be good for me and week 3. I guess I could learn to run in the rain. At least it's not snow!

Whoo hoo!
I woke up early to do week 2, day 2! I know it's a little dumb but this is HUGE for me... I only pressed the snooze button ONCE. That's a record for me.

Haven't run in 9 days - do I restart where I was?
hi, I was on week 4 day 2 and then life intervened and somehow I haven't fit in a run for 9 days. Week 5 looks a bit daunting! I'm wondering if my stamina would be set back in that space of time? Should I just keep going, or maybe repeat a week? I don't want to kill myself but I don't want to not push myself either!

Running first 5k (before finishing c25k program)-- advice?
Hi everyone! I'm running my first 5k on Sunday, and am looking for some advice. Right now (Monday), I am only on week 5 of c25k. On Friday, I will complete W5D3, rest on Saturday, and then race Sunday. Does this seem like a reasonable training plan? Is attempting to run a 5k before finishing the full program unrealistic?…

Ouch! My progress is...declining. Help?
Hello all, I'm going on my second week of C25K and I'm unsure what is going on with my progress. I am very overweight and have never run before (I'm going MWF), but I had gotten better with each attempt and had an awesome day Monday where I actually jogged each interval AFTER walking 2 miles to get to the track (wore…

Beginner - pain in shins
I'm very new to running and really enjoying it, apart from the pain in my shins. Hubs mentioned shin splints to which i said "Where do i get those from?" only for him to laugh and say no, its what the pain is called - silly me! Could this be down to my trainers. I just got some running trainers from Sports Direct, but now…

Leaving the gym feeling awesome and then a comment >:-(
had an awesome run on the treadmill 22 minutes straight at 4.2 (which is awesome for me) then as I'm walking out of the gym some guys were right behind me and one screamed "that ***'s grande!!" Made me feel so gross. Why do some guys have to be so crude?

Running & having to "go"
This is probably a weird question & I did search for the answer in older posts but did not find anything. How do you deal with bathroom breaks while running??? In the gym, it's not an issue, but outside there aren't really options. I usually run about an hour after work (7pm/7:30pm) & try not to drink much beforehand, but…

Week 1 newbies?
This is my very first time doing a C25K program. Everyone else's stories are so inspiring, and I'm actually looking forward to week 5! I know that at the point I'm at now, there's NO way I'm ready for it; I can't even make it 2 minutes straight right now. But the idea that I'm gonna be able to do that in a couple of weeks…

What's up with week 7?!!? It's kicking my butt!
I have went through all weeks being able to finish them, not always with easy effort but I've always been able to finish them. Am I self sabotaging because I'm close to graduating?? I ran 22 mins end of week 6, so I know I can do it but this week I get 15 mins into my run and I've got to take a break and then another break…

Which week did you find challenged you the most?
im at week 4, and I'm finding it really hard! I know it's not supposed to be easy, and none of the weeks have been for me. This week though, is sooo tough! I'm not complaining, and I haven't given in, I've finished all my runs so far! Just wondering which week you all found to be the most difficult?

Running and weight gain/loss
I have been losing weight steadily since the beginning of March, then added the running program last week and am now up a pound. Nothing as changed in my diet - it can't be muscle gain from running 3 times, can it? * I know. I need to put the scale away. I did this morning, but I'm frustrated none the less.

Weight v's running
Hello all, I'm new here and have just started C25K with the "get running" app. I have done week 2 day 1 today. I was so excited last week when I did all 8 running intervals each day. I'm managing but it is tough. I am very overweight currently I am 111kg (244 pounds) down 14kg from my start weight. My question is, is this…

Can run 10 mins at 4mph. Where should I start?
I want to start running, and this morning on the treadmill I challenged myself a bit more than I have for a while. Turns out I was able to run 10 minutes at 4mph, walked for 5 minutes, then ran another 10 mins. I was planning on starting C25K next week, but I'm wondering if I would do better to keep doing what I'm doing,…

New Shoes!
I got an actual fitting for a new pair of running shoes today, and I tell you, there's an immense difference even just walking around. I'm highly impressed. I got a half size larger than usual, much more cushioning than the last pair I bought, and a good amount of space for my toes which had formerly been pinching a bit.…

How Fast Did You Make Progress?
Hey there y'all, I started running (from a very sedentary, BMI ~26ish lifestyle) around Aug/Sept last year. I made really good progress running about 3 times a week as much as I could (usually 2 or 3 km), and eventually did my first treadmill 5k in 30 mins end of November. I took a long break (no illness or anything, just…

Stretches

Whoops!!!
I'm in trouble... Just went to Runners Need a shop near my office and came away with a lovely pair of Nikes which are so comfy, and a Garmin 220!!! Bonus as I got a discount for working in Canary Wharf which I didn't know about. Hubs is going to go crazy, but at least I can run away from him in comfort and know how fast…
