I am doing strength exercises or my calves and trying my best to stretch in between runs but I am still getting them, it can stop me from finishing my run sometimes and it sucks when it is beautiful outside and I can't finish because of the pain :( Has anyone else encountered this or have any good…

How to do HIIT while doing C25K/B210K
Just had my induction at the gym and the trainer said that I should incorporate HIIT in my running as it will help my lung capacity and improve my overall running. Really? Anyone else do this and can shed light on where and how to add this into the C25K programme?

Hip Pain
Hi Guys, I'm in week 5 and have developed hip pain over the past week or so. I assume it's bursitis maybe? I'm wondering if anyone has gone through this and how you got past it? It isn't unbearable pain and it generally subsides during my run - it's most noticeable after I've been sitting for a while and go to stand up or…

How far do I go back?
Just two and a half weeks ago, I graduated with my 30 minute run. I got one more 30 minute run in, and I hurt my foot. That means that for the last couple weeks, I have not been able to be very active. Now I have the go ahead to run again. How far back in the program should I go to be safe? Back to the interval runs in…

How far should I back down?
I've been doing the program by running in place inside. I just finished w4d3, with a full 10 minute run (in place) at the end. I'm ready to move it outside. Which week would you suggest starting with?

Newbie - Morbidly Obese seeking reassurance
Hi.. I'm morbidly obese and didn't even know what C25K meant until a few weeks ago. in Jan 2014 I weighed 120 kg... Currently at 94 kg. I'm only 2 days in. At least I didn't require CPR (very nearly did but miraculously completed the 30 mins). I don't care about people looking at me or saying stuff. Just terrified of Week…

Do you wear a Heart rate Monitor when you run? average heart rate?
Well I was up to week 6 on the treadmill and decided to start over from day one outside. I wear my polar HRM while I run and my heart rate is often over 160 and my breathing is crap. I am 48 and at least 50 lbs over weight so I know thats a factor but I'm wondering what is your average HR while running?

Best time to run
When do you do your run? Morning or evening? I've done both. And I think the 530am run works better for me than after work! The only problem I have with running that early is I think I'm a little dehydrated and feel so thirsty. I feel like if I drink a bunch before I run I may throw it up!

Nauseous after a run?
Today I did W5D3 and about 30 minutes after I finished I felt awful! I really thought I might throw up, I was so nauseous. It finally passed but then I was so weak and tired I laid down and fell asleep! crazy! Normally after I run I feel energized but not todays run. It took the good right out of me. Anyone else ever…

Graduation T-Shirt
Tomorrow I will be starting week 8 of the RunDouble C25K. I am proud of myself and would love to own a T-shirt of my accomplishment. I know I could sign up for a 5K and earn a shirt that way, but I kinda live in the middle of no where. Does anyone know if there are RunDouble C25K graduation shirts out there somewhere?

weight loss slowed down since I started running?
I started running at the start of June, have been going 3 times a week, walk/running about 3k (30 mins)each time, I'm logging all of my food on here and weigh everything, I had been losing 1-2lbs a week but since running I'm lucky if it's half a pound off, I've been told that it's because I'm building muscle but I've also…

Sore Ankle Strategy?
Hello friendly runners, I am new to losing weight and fitness. I'm doing a C25K, I'm on week 5 and my right ankle feels sore. The soreness is mild but constant when I am standing/walking and worsens when jogging. I feel it in all parts of my ankle joint, and it feels like it's probably mild joint inflammation. I iced it…

Does anyone can recommend me a wristband pedometer?
I'm looking for a wristband pedometer, not the belt clip type. I have been looking at some on Amazon but the ones I found are rated very low. Thanks!

graduating myself and SO PROUD!
i ran my w9d1 this morning. we're in the midst of a heat wave here, so it was already 20C when i left at 6.30 and i didn't intend to run more than the 30 minutes required. i've been doing the c25k by time as well, and figured i would just take the week to build up to a final run of 5k. but, yay me! i kept running when…

Speed vs Time
Hello all, I'm on W7D2 of C25K. I'm super happy because I did this program last summer and stopped shortly after week 5. It's harder this time around because I'm heavier, but I'm getting there and running the time each week. My question is when to worry about speed! According to MapMyRun I'm running about 1.5-1.75 miles in…

running clothing question
I have always enjoyed running but got out of it and got way out of shape. I am just beginning the c25k program. The weather where I live is very humid. My weird and somewhat embarrassing question is. Is there any good way of keeping shorts from riding up? I have very large thighs and I know that's the problem but it's very…

Sharing is caring!
Hey guys! I'm on week 4 of the program. Actually, this is my second week to be on week 4 of the program, BUT this is my first week of actually being able to complete the workout for week 4 of the program! :) Usually what I do is I get up, have a coffee, wait about 15-20 minutes, and go do the workout. This morning, I had…

Looking for running/compression socks
Hey guys! I'm doing C25k, and I have one pair of Nike running socks that compress the arches of my feet. They're the best things ever, and I would love to have at least 2 more pairs. I got the pair I have on sale relatively cheaply from a factory outlet, but there isn't a sale going on right now. I was wondering if anyone…

Small victories: will-power over excuses
So, I'm the sort of person who was put off running by PE lessons at school over 20yr ago. (The 84 in my username is a "random" number assigned by MFP not my year of birth - I wish!). Then I found C25K. I finished week one on Sunday and have spent the last 2 days waiting for it to be Wednesday so I can go out again. Whats…

where on your feet do you land when running?
i've been experimenting with where i land on my feet while running because as the distance is increasing with my journey in the C25K program i am trying to find the most efficient way to run. i naturally want to run on the ball of my feet, and while i don't think i'm too "springy" i notice that around the 20-minute mark i…

Advice needed. Any experienced runners out there?
I have never ran before and I'm going to start the C25k programme next week. One of my biggest concerns is that I heard that running on pavement is bad for your knees. I don't have knees pain, but I'm overweight and I need to buy proper running shoes. I suppose any New Balance trainers should be ok ?? Also, I'll need to…

3 times a week?
Hi all, I've very recently started the C25K programme after 20 years of not running, and the first time I went out I found it horrible, I couldn't get my breath, I felt dizzy, I really struggled. I then found this group and read all the Tips & Tricks, and the comments, and after taking all this on board I gave it a second…

5k improver plan?
Looks like a bunch of us are approaching the home stretch of c25k. Sounds like some people are thinking of moving onto the bridge to 10k. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time in the morning to run for an hour (already wake up at 4AM most days). For people who have already graduated from the program... have any of you…

Restarting C25K after a long hiatus
Good morning to all my fellow runners! I initially did the C25K program in 2012, and ran consistently until March of 2014 when I found myself sidelined with severe hip pain. As it turned out I was suffering from bursitis as well as IT band syndrome, and have been dealing with both until quite recently (both hips still are…
