Anyone else needing a pre-Week 1?
I have been attempting to do CPto5K for eight YEARS (on and off) now. Yes, that's right, if I'd just stuck with a week a year, I'd be done. I've recently restarted, and have found once again that even the one minute is too much for me. I've started just playing the app, trying to run for as long as I can as often as I can…

Balancing rest days with other workouts?
I was doing the C210K app until about week 4 before I went rogue and just started making my own intervals. I know the app recommends a rest day after every running day, but I've been getting 8-10k steps for Fitbit challenges and lifting between running days. I have one "proper" rest day a week where I'm only taking 8-10k…

Looking forward to ...
Being able to jog/run for 30 minutes at a time. Or more! Not having to depend on a voice prompt, just getting out there with confidence to just do it. I'm 49 and I've never been a runner before, not even in school, so the urge to be able to do this is new to me. It's either a cumulative effect of breathing really hard…

C25K Program buddy?
Hello! I'm 5'6 225lb and I'm starting (or rather, re-starting) the C25K program this week and was hoping to find someone else who is in the first week or two who wants an accountability buddy to help them keep on track and talk to about how they are doing with the program.

Inspiration!
I just wanted to let you guys know I've felt so inspired reading through the threads here. I really feel like I can do this! I'm nervous though... I tend to get numb toes when I run too much. I'm 5'8" and 275#.

Wanna start asap
Hi everyone I'm looking at starting this as I started jogging a few weeks ago and can't manage to jog for more than a few minutes so got recommended this to try so I can build up gradually. Does it really work and what's the best app to use for an apple? Wanna start tomorrow after failing my 2 mile run tonight :-( any…

Is there such thing as too slow?
So, I'm on W4D1 which is the day I gave up a few years ago. I usually walk at 3mph and jog at 4mph. Today, I jogged at 3.5mph and finished it without feeling like I was dying. Is it ok to carry on at this speed? Or should I try and push myself faster?

Repeating weeks or pushing through?
So, I finished week 4 today. Still checking the time through the run and feeling relieved when it's time to walk. My question is, it's the dreaded 20 minute run a week from now. Should I do next week and do W5D2 on day 3 and skip the 20 minute run, and repeat week 5 the week after and do the 20minute run on that Friday…

Calves burn so much ...
Hi everyone... So I also started the C25k - second time week one and I really have a serious problem... Every session - after a few minutes (usually starts at the end of FIRST jog) my calves and tibia (right term?!) start burning - and it only gets worse from jog to jog - in the end it really burns like hell... I'm running…

Stretches
I will be starting week 5 today but have noticed that my hips are quite sore after my runs. I'm thinking this may be due to the fact that I haven't been doing any stretches while following the program. Sooo what are good stretches that you have been doing during the runs? Also when is the best time to do them? I was…

Stop following the programme?
So did w5r3 tonight, and after much trepidation, found it easy to run the 20 mins and feel I could have easily gone for 25 mins, possibly 30. The app now allows 4 weeks to getting to the point of running 30 mins. Though I feel it would be possible and safe to do it in 5 more runs, doing 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30 mins over the…

Armband recommendation?
Hi! I'm looking into getting an armband for my iphone 6. I have larger upper arms, around 16.5" for my left arm (when taking measurements...I'm guessing since the band will be tighter, a smaller fit is okay). Thanks for any recommendations you have!

Training schedule
Couch to 5k is supposed to be three days a week... to be specific, if I can keep up the pace of every other day, would it be okay to run three days one week and four days the next week, alternating that way until I've completed the entire nine weeks, but actually finishing in seven and a half weeks? For example: Week 1:…

My silly mistake
So I used to be a great runner. I could do sub-20 min 5ks like it was nothing. 6 years later and after 4 or 5 short-lived attempts to get back in shape, I finally decided I need to stop thinking of myself as "experienced" and just go all the way back to being a beginner. I had heard of c25k but didn't believe I met the…

Running slow
I am a slow runner. Like, real slow. Like, I've never dipped below a 14 minute mile. I've done C25k before, and still never got below a 14 min mile. I'm finishing up the program now, on week 7 when you work from 2 mile to 3 mile runs, and I'm feeling a little discouraged. I thought that since I've lost a little weight, and…

Running in the rain - how to protect phone and FitBit?
Any suggestions on how to protect my phone and my FitBit Blaze? I don't want to take my blaze off but I could if I had to. I just like to wear it for the HR monitor. And my phone, I need for my C25K app (and music).... Thanks in advance!

Knee pain
Hi all! Was doing great with my running and enjoying it. Until I went on a long walk holding my toddler on my hip and wearing sandals. That night my knee was on fire. The pain is just below my kneecap and toward the inside. It hurts to walk, go down stairs, anf especially to run. So obviously I had to quit running and I am…

Help???
So I started C25K two weeks ago. I'm on week 2 day 2. the first day of week 2 I ran the whole minutes and a half but on the second day today I had to stop for some reason. It was hard to do and I get out of breath. But I just love the feeling of running now but I hate how I can only go practically a minute and 10 seconds.…

What's your first 5k race?
I've picked out my first race - The Brookfield Zoo Run Run 5k on 9/11/2016. Registration starts May 30, and I will be registering that day! For those of you not familiar with Brookfield Zoo, it is an absolutely wonderful place, and the run takes place entirely on zoo grounds, so it should be a blast.…

Running's snot the problem
Hi fellow runners! I'm on W4D1. Lately I've been noticing a strange problem. When I get running, my nose runs/feels congested all of a sudden. Prior to running, I'm fine. What gives? Does anyone else have this problem? Any remedies?

A 'light' 20 minute run!!
I just have to share my amazing experience yesterday. As I was planning my running schedule this week (Week 8), I decided my 3-28 minute run days, and then decided to throw in a 'light' 20 minute run on a day when I'm working late. Then I had to start crying and laughing because I spent 5 (well, 6) solid weeks afraid of…

C25k week 5 day 3 dilemma
I did week 5 day 2 yesterday (x2 8 min intevals)... Tomorrow is a 20 min (no intevals) run. I managed the 8 min intervals yesterday (just lol) and am contemplating what to do tomorrow... Do I give day 3 a go and if need be walk in between and then move onto week 6 or do I give day 2 a few more attempts?

Restarting at week 4...
I did week 4, day 1 last week and got discouraged at how hard it was and stopped. Decided NOT to quit and going to restart at week 4 and keep at this week if need be for a bit. How are you all getting on? Did you need to ever redo a week? I'm trying not to feel guilty or shame myself about this and see my jogging as…

Anyone else just starting...
Two years ago I was able to walk/run a half marathon, and was doing 5k/10ks every couple months...I would love to jump on the bandwagon again. I am hoping to start C25K now, and be able to sign up for a new years day 5k...I have a goal of doing races next year 10 out of the 12 months. I am obese with at least 100lbs to…

Benchmark Morning!
When i started, i could barely get through the 60 second runs; but i've gotten my butt on the trail 3 times per week, and this morning i made it through a 22 minute run (Week 6, Day 3). The program was to run 22 minutes, or 2 1/4 miles, and i figured i had only covered about 1 3/4 miles after 22 minutes. So as i completed…

Feeling discouraged guys!!
So I am on the last day of week two and I couldn't finish it today! I had no problems finishing the first two days of week two but today I just couldn't make it through. My thighs and calves we burning and my right knee was hurting. I am heavy so I assume the knee pain is normal. Any advice on how to push through this? I…

What is a Good Pace??
Hey all. Sorry for this kind of dumb question but I have never been a runner and I am trying to enjoy it now. I am 5'3 and 24years old and I am trying to figure out how fast I should be running. I ran on the treadmill today in week2 day3 and I ran at 6 mph and just about died. Should I be trying to build up to this speed?…

Able to Run 5K Earlier Than Planned... What Now?
The title spells it out pretty well. I did w7d2, but felt determined enough to just keep running. Ended up running the whole 3.1 miles. Still super duper slow, though. Should I finish the program or jump right to a B210k?

First 5K in three years... this weekend!!!
I've been training pretty much since January, but I had two setbacks due to illness where I went a full week without running. Then, I took a break Easter weekend. I wish I had trained a bit more... I'm up to 30 minute runs, but my pace is slow. I get maybe a 1.65 mile in that amount of time. Ready or not, here it comes!…
