Breathing Challenges- Asthmaish
Hi Everyone. I'm on week 4 of C25k. I have sports induced asthma. But up until week 4 it hasn't been a problem. But half way through the second run this week I'm having trouble keeping up. I'm not going that fast (16-17 minute mile) and I do have an appointment with my doctor set where I plan to talk to her about what to…

C25K APP
Hi does the myfitnesspal app only sync with the C25K free app? I downloaded the pro app, but when I go thru myfitnesspal to try to connect it to the C25K app it takes me to the app store for the free app. Any suggestions?

Starting C25K Monday 8/11
Hello! Is anyone else just starting out?

Blisters on my arch
I keep getting blisters on my arch after about 4k running. I have a few pairs of twin skin socks and they do help, but I think it is my trainers. I think they are too narrow for my feet, which aren't particularly wide. They are standard Nike running trainers that are moulded at the arch. I don't have flat feet, but they…

C25K+ and running 3+ days
Hi all :flowerforyou: I just had a couple of questions for anyone knocking about who has been running for a while... Did any of you do the C25K+ podcasts after finishing C25K? (I mean the NHS ones, dunno if there are others!). I'm not sure if they will be very useful, or if I should do my own thing. I have them downloaded…

Not as bad as I thought it would be!!
Today I completed day 1 of C to 5k. I didn't think I would be able to do it, but I did and really liked it. I hope as the weeks progress and the running time gets longer that my body will be adjusted well and I can complete the program. :)

failed D1W1
So I finally decided to give it a go last night. I didn't make it. I didn't even make it halfway through. Am I the only one? Couch to 26 minutes of jogging and walking just wasn't possible for me. I made it through the 5 minute warm up and the first 2 90 second jogs before walking the rest of the way. Am I the only one who…

Pace or distance?
So lots of people when talking about their sessions talk about tacking additional running time onto their sessions, so pushing the distance out. As an alternative when I was doing C25K I tried to do the last interval, or the last minuts of the longer intervals, at a higher pace. Neither is right or wrong, the big benefit…

Nike Air Monarch IV
I got these shoes for work because they're super padded, but what do you think of them for running shoes? Does anyone else use this kind? Would there be a problem with me using the same shoes for working and running?

Life got in the way
Hi. I got to week 3 runs about three weeks ago but I have had soo much going on in my personal life which has meant I haven't been able to get back out running and progressing. I want to start up again but I don't which week to start back up with. Any ideas? I am hoping that once I get back into the habit of running again…

Timed or distance?
Hi all! I am just starting week 3 and I am at the point where I can continue with timed runs or switch to distance runs. (I am using the RunDouble app and up to week 3, it's all timed) For example, this week I can either do warm up; 90 sec run; 90 sec walk; 3min run; 3 min walk; repeat OR warm up; 200yrd run; 200 yard…

Repeating days
Ok, so I started the c25k last year, while working 2 jobs, back to back. Not gonna lie, I gave up until a few weeks ago. Now I need to know how you can repeat a day. I see no sense in going further into the program if one day is too hard, I'd like to simply redo it. There doesn't seem to be any way that I can find, and I…

I am a runner after surgery
I used to run 3 miles a day. I started by walking than running until I was winded than walking etc. Last summer I had a horrible surgery to remove a brain tumor. I just found the zenlabs c25k app and started again last week. I am running again and feel amazing and accomplished. I am on a journey to lose 100 pounds. Good…

C25K Newbie
Hi! I started the program about a month ago. The first 2.5 weeks killed my knees, but I got some great shoes and now that's much better. Week 3 went well until I got to the last day and then weather forced me to go for it on the elliptical. I did it fine, but kept in mind that was not as challenging as actual running. So…

Feeling Discouraged
I'm in my 5th week of my running program (not c25k, easier than that) and I'm having issues. This week I'm running 1.5 minutes and walking 1.5 minutes, repeated 8 times. I am able to complete it without a problem, but I don't feel good when I'm running. I don't mean I feel out of breath or sick. I'm running so slow in…

Heart rate monitors?
I'm on week two, and I'm considering purchasing a heart rate monitor for when I do c25k on the treadmill, or a fitbit for my everyday activity. I don't have it in the budget to buy both. At this point in time, since I'm still running a lot of intervals in C25K, will a heart rate monitor be able to accurately track my…

Doggy Dash Cause for Paws
My mom and I are signing up for a 5k in September. I'm really nervous about it, but at least I get to bring my dog! My only concern is that I want to run the course, but my mom will be most likely walking it instead. How do I tell her that I want to push for running instead of walking? She has a much worse fitness level…

Hello: C25K 3 years later
I started C25K on a whim three years ago. I struggled my way through it and repeated days and weeks every time I failed to make it through a run. Three years down the road I'm in amazingly better shape, a hundred pounds lighter, and am training for another hundred mile trail race. If you're just starting out or struggling…

Treadmill
I need to do the program on the treadmill. Next day is week 3, day 3. I may try to add in a real life running day every week or once a fortnight for the other 9 weeks but my anxiety won't allow me to walk/run irl!\ Is there some sort of thing I could use to progress from treadmill to the road? Will it be like I've never…

Hills - I forgot about those
When I Started C25K I had a lot of knee pain so I switched to running a high school track. The track is made from recycled tires so its supposed to be easier on the joints. And it has been. Ive been running there for a few weeks and my knees no longer hurt after running. But today I decided to give the roads a try again;…

Week 5 pf program
Hi guys.. I'm on week 5 at the moment and just completed the second run (two sets of 8 minutes) - I'm pretty proud of myself as I've come a long way! However seeing that the 3rd run of the week is a straight 20 minutes is pretty terrifying. I've been going slow so pace isn't an issue - was just wondering if people who've…

What do you do on off days?
Hi friends! I just finished week one, and I was curious what you all do on off days. Walking? Elliptical? Yoga? Nothing? Also, I have a tendency to get very tight calves when I run. What can I do on off days to combat that?

Getting Started
Running is something new to me. I figured I'd better start somewhere. I downloaded the C25K app. I am having a problem, though. When I start the workout, I can get through to the first 2 or 3 running minutes. Then, I start noticing my legs tensing up and I'm having problems catching my breath in time before the next run…

Reality vs enthusiasm
I so want to be a runner I have dreams (literally) about running. I read everything I can lay my hands on. I am on week 3 day 2 of zenlabs c25k. My legs are so sore and I am running so slowly, only between 5.5-5.8 kilometres (3.5mph!) an hour. If I slowed down I would be walking slowly! I get all fired up and enthusiastic,…

Did anyone else start today?
Hello! Started the plan today and wondered if anyone would like to 'buddy up' online for motivation? I've started these runs four times now and never seen it through to the end, this time it feels different! Lucy :)

Crampy foot
So I noticed the last time I ran, my right foot was feeling crampy. Not sure if it is a stretching thing or what the issue was. It did work itself out about half way through my run, but it was not a fantastic feeling until then. Anyone have this issue or know how to prevent it for my next run?

question about week 5 day three
I did week 5 day 3 today. I managed to run the full two miles but was about 1:40 short of 20 minutes. The app I use says to jog for two miles OR 20 minutes. So my question is that since I completed the two miles, should I advance to the next step or should I do it again until I can go the full 20 minutes?
