Now what??
Ok, so I started the C25K last month, then took a few weeks off to a busy schedule. Mind you, I didnt finish the program but I did skip ahead to week 5 last week. On Tuesday I hit the gym and after a 5 min walk, I ran for 5 min, felt good and shut the C25K program off and just ran at 3.8mph...and ran.....for 20 min! Ok, so…

App to track distance
I'm using the timed version of C25K app for the iPhone(5K runner). I have no idea about the distance I'm covering or my pace. Does anybody know of an iPhone app that I can use in the background for this? I looked at nike+ but looks like that app has alerts. I don't need any alerts as the 5K runner alerts me during the…

Training on an indoor rubberized track
Hi all, I just finished w5d1 today. I run on an indoor track. I'm wondering what I can do to transition to outdoor running in spring. Do I re start the program just like folks who started on the treadmill. Is it going to be a dramatic change, the indoor track versus outdoor running? I have terrible allergies and will run…

Semi-Newb
So I'm sort of a newbie - this is my 3rd time doing Couch To 5K. The first time in 2011 I was successfull and ran several 5Ks and felt like a million bucks. Maybe 10 million bucks. Then last year I made it through to about a 35 min run (I run slow - so I wasn't quite at a 5K) and then I got sidetracked and never got to…

A four week break after wk6 of C25K
I'm after taking quite a long break from my c25k program and planning on starting back today. I stopped at week 6 day 2 and completed that monstrous 20min run (which I once thought impossible )!!! :) Just wondering if anyone ever took a long break and were able to begin again at the same level ?? Any advice ?

The BIG Week 5!
Well today I finished Week 4 and it's time to move on to Week 5. I'm scared but ready to FINALLY finish it! Third time is the charm right?! I hope everyone is right about it being all mental and that my calves and shins let me do it! :)

Any good tutorial vidoes on breathing?
I just finished W1D3. I tried watching some breathing technique videos and tried to practice it while running.I am still not sure if I am doing it correct. If I try to inhale through nose and exhale through mouth,I feel enough air didn't reach my lungs. My nose feels wet which makes it more hard to breathe only through…

Week 3 Day 3 makes me angry!
I am at a point where I am doing Week 3 Day 3 and the running is just killing me! I get so irrationally mad when it keeps on going and doesn't tell me to start walking. Anyone else have this hard of a time at this point? I've repeated W3D3 two times already and plan to repeat again (maybe many times?). I am running at a…

Thank you to everyone!
Thanks to all of you who provided me with tips and support last week. I repeated the day I couldn't finish (wk 5 day 2), slowed down a tiny bit and used my inhaler beforehand, and was able to finish! Was still sure I wouldn't be able to do the whole 20 min run on day 3, but tried it anyway. AND I did it!!!! I am so very…

Easiest/Hardest day of the week?
I just did W4D1 and at the moment the first day's always the easiest for me while the third one's the hardest, which I find kind of funny. I've never repeated a day or week because by day 3 it's like my body's grown bored of the same routine but is all excited for the new run. Does this happen to you too or is it the…

Transitioning from outside running to treadmill
I'm finding a wealth of information about going from inside to outside, but I have the opposite situation happening. I've been running outside for the past few months (just finished W7D3) with one run on an indoor track that I don't consistently have available. After another round of snow & negative temperatures, I finally…

How long until you were ready??
Hey everyone! I'm just getting ready to start the C25K program on February 1. I started it last summer but only got 2 weeks in before I gave up. I'm hoping I can stick with it this time around. My question for everyone that's completed the program -- About how long from your 'start' date was it before you really felt ready…

Who knew I could do it?!?
This morning I ran my first 5k... actually ran the whole time-- no walking-- in 35 minutes flat. To say that I am over the moon would be an understatement. Its so exciting to think of how far I have come since July and then to think about how far I still have to go (weight loss wise)-- who knows what I will be able to…

Week 5 failure
Nope, not the big run. I attempted Week 5 Day 2 yesterday, which in my program is two 8 min runs with a 5 min walk between. I was able to do the first 8, but only made 5 min of the second run before I had to take a breather (I walked for 1 min, then ran for 3 more min). My question is, do I repeat this day or go on to the…

New, looking for some friends!
Hi all! Today is week 2, workout 3 for me. I'd love to add some friends for support and motivation. I'm 30, female, live in Dallas, Texas. I'm using the Active.com app. I've been really liking the program so far. Tuesday was the first day I found it to be rough. My calves were pretty tight, I'm thinking I probably didn't…

Week 2 Day 3 to Week 3 Day 1
Hi there, just completed Week 2 day 3 and managed fine. I am doing this programme with my mum. I looked at the programme for Week 3 Day 1, and it seems like a big jump from week 2, to go from alternating between 90 seconds jogging, 2 minutes walking, to 90 seconds jogging then 90 seconds walking then 3 minutes jogging 5…

Put It Out There to the Universe

Starting up again after being sick...
Hey all! I'm new to this group, but not entirely new to C25K. I've tried it a few times now, but I haven't made it a priority until recently. Some of my friends are following the program, too. We're even signing up for a color run in our area to keep us motivated :) Anyway, the main reason I'm posting is this: I've had a…

REDEMPTION!!! Dominated W7D1!
I posted yesterday about my W7D1 attempt. I went back at it today and I OWNED it! It wasn't exactly easy but it wasn't painfully hard either. The last two minutes I had to repeat a mantra to get me through, but I made it! You guys were right. I just needed to try it again and have a little confidence in myself. W7D2 here I…

Monday: We Run
Alright... really been trying to get in to (enjoying) running. I tried marathon training a few years back and ended up having a labral tear (Dr and I agreed that I pushed myself too hard too soon). I have a treadmill in my basement and feel as though I should be making better use of it (yes, running outdoors is something…

Starting C25k tomorrow
Today I walked/ran for the first time in a very long time. I have tried running before but my knees and ankles always hurt, my hubby gave me a new pair of shoes for Xmas so i put them on to go out for a walk. I started to run and it didn't hurt and that is when i began to fall in love with running! I am going to start the…

Road blocks
Hi everyone... new to this group & to MFP. I've been doing C25K very slowly over the past few months, repeating days here and there & juggling a full school schedule and work as well. Before I even started doing the program, I signed up for a 5K on March 2nd as a way to stay motivated & accountable. Right now I'm in week…

W8D2 - Outside - What?!
Hello Fellow C25Kers! In honor of MegsMiles, I got a babysitter and did my W8D2 today. It is a beautiful day and I had time, so I decided to try my run outside in the park. I fully anticipated getting about 3 minutes down before I had to walk. Guess what happened. Go ahead. Guess. I'll wait... I ran almost the entire 28…

Running with allergies
I finished week two today! So far so good. I am going to start week three tomorrow. The mountain cedar is extremely high in south Texas right now so my allergies are killing me. I have been taking my meds and only going out to workout, no hanging outside other than that. Anyone else with outdoor allergies?

Treadmill to Outdoors?
I need some feedback. I am set to finish C25K in less than 2 weeks. I have a program that I am planning to use afterwards - 5K Forever. I've done my entire C25K - Zen Labs on the treadmill. After I'm done, would you: A) Use the new 5K Forever program and alternate treadmill and outdoors (weather restrictions - snow and ice…

Registered for my 1st 5k!
I did it. I just registered for my first 5k! It is virtual and I can run it any time between Feb 1 and Feb 14th. That will be right around the time I finish my C25K program! I decided to go virtual so I can get the first one under my belt without some of the anxiety of doing it with a ton of other people. (I'm not good in…

Put me on the injured list
Don't know what I did. Bumped up speeds 0.2 and was feeling pretty good until about the 15 mark, went to take a forward stride and SNAP when the knee. Yes, my bad one. I caught the side-rails so it wasn't one of those epic looking treadmill fails. Thank god because it would have been BAD.... I was near machines/freeweights…
