W3D2 bad run
I did a semi-hungover, unmotivated W3D2 run today in the 17 degree + wind chill weather. By the last 3 minute run, I am quite sure my legs weighed 200 pounds each... I had to take a week off due to knee injury after week 2, and then did W3D1 on Thursday. I was very surprised that I felt really good during that run - as if…

1st 5k tomorrow, advice please.
Hello, I signed up for my first 5k assuming I would be done with the program. However after a small break I jumped back into and finished week 5 yesterday (very proud of myself. I ran the whole 20 min and for the first time in my life ran a mile, almost 2 without stopping). I am now wondering if I should just go for it and…

What music program do you use?
If you use music in the gym, what music program do you use? I just downloaded Slacker radio but thats streaming. I'm ideally looking for something along the lines of jog.fm but I cant find anything for my WIndows phone. Anyone good at this stuff? or have one they recommend?

FINISHED! Can't believe I did it.
Hey all, just wanted to say that as of yesterday I completed the Couch 2 5k program! I am still amazed I did it, as when I started I could barely run a minute without feeling tired. But, I got through the 9 weeks without once repeating a run, and even finished yesterday on a personal best, with a 11.15 min mile (I know…

So I ran a 5k this morning
First one in about 15 years. I'm in week 7, so it wasn't quite time, but I felt like doing it anyway. I ran nearly all of it with only a couple of short walk breaks on some killer hills. The official time isn't posted yet but it was around 45 minutes. I really wanted to break 45 but I think I just missed it. I hauled…

Good running songs.
I know we all have different music tastes, but there are some songs that have really got me through tough points in my runs. Do you all have any to add, my run playlist needs some new tunes. These are the songs that cause me to perk up when they come on. Please add yours. Bruno Mars-Runaway Baby, this song is not about our…

So yeah.. Week 7+
As you may have read earlier, When I started this program I signed up for a 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning (11/28). The way this times out in terms of scheduling is that I will be graduating from the program the day before the race. Based on that I have a couple of questions 1. My last day on C25k is the day before…

Week 5 day 3 ---GOOD MISTAKE
Hi All, I just completed the week 5 day 3 20 minute run by mistake and I couldn't be happier! I always look ahead to see what is coming up. I was orginally set to do week 5 day 2, but accidently left it on week 5 day three and so I started to run and run. As I am running I hear it say half way finished and I kept running,…

Nervous but just downloaded the app!
Hi, I have just downloaded the app and I am nervous but ready to give it a go! I used to run, about 7 or 8 years ago, although i never got very far with it, i just about managed to run 5k on a good day. Since then, I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and i gave up all the sports i used to do, and have put on a lot of…

If you are on week 4 or 5 and struggling...
Slow down!. I'm so excited for you and know you can do it. Many people quit in week 4, it's where this starts getting real. But in just a few runs, you will be through week 5 and that's a major milestone. You are so capable of this...if you just let yourself slow down, relax, enjoy the experience of becoming a runner.…

Signed up for my first 5K
Hi everyone, I decided last night that it was time for me to take the plunge and sign up for my first 5K race, so I'm going to run for Sport Relief on March 23rd next year. It seems like a while away but I only just started running a couple of months ago, but loved doing C25K and want to keep on pushing myself. I still…

Week 1 Day 1 question (noob runner!)
So, I did the first day today and i feel pretty good. I could have pushed harder on the running time but I could feel blisters forming from my running yesterday. Dont worry, Im getting a properly pair of fitted shoes before my next run to hopefully cut down on the blisters. After the 30 min was up, I noticed I only went 2…

Blood pressure and C25k
So I am on week 3. I am taking it super slow and had to repeat a week due to work getting in the way, so I have really been doing it about 6 weeks, 3 days a week, without fail. I was at the doctor for a PT referral (unrelated shoulder pain) and my B/P was 110/74!!!! Before I started it was 120/90-something. A year ago I…

Just did Week one, day one...
...after a 10k run. I got home, and my daughter put on her running gear and announced that she was ready to start learning to run with me (we've talking about it for ages). Being the dutiful dad I am, I turned right around and took her out. Not going to lie, it was pretty awesome having my little protégé running with me.

Just comleted week 6-- 2.25 miles wow
After two starts and stops due to injuries I finally learned to take it slow and do a little bit of stretching. What a difference it makes. I just completed week 6 and jogged 2.25 miles this morning (151/2 min per mile pace). I couldn't even imagine jogging this far when I first started the program. I feel really good. No…

week 5 day3
I did it! I can't believe I did it! I am so proud of myself! In September, when I started, I struggled with 1 minute and I just did 20! Sorry I am just excited about it and I think my husband is tired of hearing about it lol. Yay! Go me!

Treadmill vs Outside C25K
Just curious who's doing C25K on a treadmill, outside, or a hybrid of both. I'm a hybrid, using the treadmill during the week, but going outside on the weekends. I'm finding there are definite pros and cons to both and it's been an interesting mix week to week. Where are you doing your C25K training and what's your…

Zombies Run 5k Training app vs Couch-to-5k app?
Has anyone tried both of these? Which one did you like best? I'm thinking about buying one, but I don't really want to buy both...just looking for some pros and cons. Thank you! :flowerforyou:

New to the group
I just joined this group and I am impressed with how active it is. My history: I have been running for about five years. I usually run from September to April. I usually do a five km race on Jan 1, and a ten km race in April. My time has stayed the same, and I like to start from scratch in a "learn to run" program like…

Running in the wind
Still running after completing C25K in August, but now that it is getting colder outside our winter winds are starting to kick up. Today was very windy and it was hard to run into the wind, which is why I alternated my normal route to run perpendicular to it. Short of running inside on a treadmill (ugh!), does anyone have…

FINAL WEEK! However, I'm concerned!
I am currently in my final week of C25K and can run for a solid 30 minutes with no issues. However, my distance for this is right around 2.4 miles (average pace around 12:30-13:00 depending on how tired I am). I am running my VERY FIRST 5K on Thanksgiving and don't want to do ANY walking whatsoever. I am obviously going to…

First 5K finished!!!
Finished first 5Ktoday...17 overall and first in age group (25:58). It was tougher than I thought it would be, but i loved it. My daughter ran as well and she finished 26th overall and 3rd in her group. It's been great reading about everyone's accomplishments as well as all the shared experiences. Next one is December 14th!

New to the group and new to running
Hi, I have just joined the group in an attempt to help loose weight. I have 40 pounds to loose. I have never been able to run, even when I was younger. I can't even run 10 yards....I have just quit smoking (social smoker). I am very unfit... Can anyone give me some good pointers to get me going? I am going to go on my…

Possible Silly Question: Double Training
So, I've been on and off my C25K training for awhile but last made it to W4D1. That was a few weeks ago so I'm going to see if I can pick up where I left off. I have a friend who is starting the program with me and we did W1D1 yesterday. Here's the silly question: is it safe for me to continue my own training from W4 on…

CRAMPS! Is it about WHAT I eat?
I have completed a c25K program and did my first 5k in 37 minutes the beginning of October. I have continued running 3 times a week and use Jeff Galloway 2:1 interval music to help me increase my speed. Just in the past two weeks I have been getting cramps under my rib cage within the very first run segment.... I am not…

Virtual Race: Commorative C25k 3.1K (2 mile race)
If you remember, I suggested a commemorative 3.1k (2 mile race). This is the thread for us to post our times. The rules are - run two miles on ONE of the following days: 6th, 7th or 8th of November. Then post your time here.

Starting over
Hi everyone! I just completed week 1 and am so happy I started up again. I was doing the program back in april & may and made it to week 5 day 3 and the 20 minute run got the best of me. It was around this time when I got the flu and it was increasing hot in my bedroom where my treadmill is (I did the whole program on the…
