Starting Again..
I tried C25K earlier this year, before summer hit and I made it to about week 4 before getting overwhelmed with the rest of life and giving up. Now, I think I'm ready to try it again. I have a friend in the area who also wants to try it, so we're going to help motivate each other and keep each other accountable. I want to…

Keeping pace or finishing interval?
I did w4d1 last night and found it difficult to finish the 2nd 5 minute run at the same pace I had been using for the other three runs. I'm running on a treadmill so I know exactly how fast I'm running and can't really slack on the pace unless I physically turn the speed down. My question is, do you think its more…

It seems like so little
But it's really a lot! I cannot believe how much doing the C25k program has done for me, my fitness level, my endurance, and my self confidence. I've done it a little faster than recommended, I ran 4 days a week instead of 3 because I loved running the program so much. Yesterday I ran in the morning and heard about a free…

Home from the Run or Dye color run!
The color run was a lot of fun. I guess it was one of the biggest in Canada - 7000 people!!! Little man loved the dye packets - he went through all but one before we even left the starting gate. Unfortunately, the course was muddy & very slippery with some extremely steep hills; so we ran when we could and walked when we…

I give up on my app
I use get running. I loved it for the first 6 weeks. Week 7, it turned off randomly. The first time, I thought I did it. The second time, I emailed the developer and they said they were working on fixing it. He suggested shutting my phone down completely before starting the app. I did that for W7D3 and it didn't shut off.…

ran in a 5k
39.3 minutes. Not the time I was hoping for but it was my own fault for not transitioning to out doors this past few weeks. I had a muscle cramp at mile 2, and ended up walking part of the last mile. I run again in 2 weeks and will train outdoors to get those muscles ready! all I want is 37 minutes or better with no…

Zombie Run
I just started the program yesterday and I am so looking forward to October in Litiz PA for their zombie fun run obstacle course. Anyone else ever do a zombie run?

Is a slower pace normal?
I am doing my first C25K and am currently on week 4 day 2. Is it normal for your pace to slow down when there is more running? I just think it is bizarre that I was faster with more walking. Is it maybe just me or that I am slowing down to be able to complete the intervals? Am I missing something here? Thanks Never thought…

Running is Boring
Let me explain: I'm very enthusiastic about this app. I just started week 7 and am running 25 minutes without stopping. And I never thought I'd be able to run for more than five minutes at a time. The thing is...running for 25 minutes without intervals or any sort of change is sort of boring. I run with music and keep…

How to Determine a Training Schedule?
So, I signed up for a nine week running clinic. I got my package, and I was looking through it last night after our first run. I was wondering if anyone knew the reasoning/science behind training schedules, simply because I want to know and understand how this works. I notice that they push you by an extra few minutes at…

This months challenge: First person to 30 miles will receive a post card from me! Yes, a real post card with an awesome photo of the Memphis Skyline! This challenge is to help build on the endurance you are creating. To ensure an injury free challenge, I am keeping the miles minimal. One of the best cross training you can…

Reasons or Excuses?
I am so tired right now that I could cry. Despite getting up & leaving the house at 4 am to drop my husband off at the airport, I decided to go on my planned run for w8d3 with only 4 hours of sleep! Sigh. It did not go well. I ended up walking 3 times - once at the 10 minute mark for about 3 minutes (hill/no legs/oh so…

W7 D2 - Hitting a wall
I just completed Week 7 Day 2 yesterday. I think it's my 3rd 25 minute run. I felt stiff, sluggish and worn out. However, it was more like a wall I needed to break through (the dark before the dawn) rather than a problem I need to fix. Has anybody else experienced this?

Nutrition for Runners (And recipes! WOO HOO!)
I think I had this topic going before, but it got burried and can't find it now. So restarting it. Nutrition is a very important aspect to look at when becoming a runner. Most people at first take it up as a form of exercise to aid in weight loss. And like clock work, there are nutrion rules that every new runner breaks.…

Wait, what? Go from 90 seconds to 3minutes in week 3?
I just finished week 2 and peeked ahead and saw the 3 minute jogging stretch in week 3. I just assumed it would be two minutes in week 3. Did anyone have trouble with this?

New to C25K
Good morning I am on week 3 of my training plan (Zen Labs C25K) and am going at a slow pace in order to make sure I am completing all intervals. Today was my slowest yet (so that was kinda disappointing) but at least I finished it. I also use Runtastic to track my pace, km, etc. What I don't know is how to track my…

Sprint drills?
Hi all, My C25K program (Zombies, Run!) has two 10 minute free-form runs in the workouts for this week. I was wondering about doing sprint drills rather than steady state running. I've heard that interval training is very effective in improving body composition. But, I can't sprint all out for 20 minutes (more like 1…

Safety - Road ID app
For anyone that runs at night, in secluded areas, or just wants to feel safer, check out the Road ID app. I just found it after someone mentioned it in the forums of a running site. When you go for a run (or walk or bike ride) you start this alert called an ecrumb. You select contacts (I think up to 5? I always just use my…

Goos start c25k on my treadmill next Monday
Here is what I am thinking. We start the c25k next Monday, the 30th. It is 9 weeks, but we do every week for 2 weeks. So 18 weeks. That puts us at February 3. So we'd be done by February 2. Anyone wanna join me? I don't want to do this alone. But we need to keep eachother accountable. Maybe make a group here? There is cell…

Not sure what to do
Hey all, So I started C25K 2 months ago, running 2-3 times a week and just finished week 7. A month ago I signed up for a 5k, thinking I could do it as that's what I was training for. I didn't mind having to take walking breaks during the race if that would be necessary. I didn't expect to run the entire track. I have been…

My ASICS APP
Was shopping around for a structured plan for after C25K and saw this asics app, It has you type in some basic info about your current abilities, then ask what you want to accomplish by distance and time(or you can select that you don't know)...then churns out a training plan. I was wondering if any has tried this…

.9 miles short
I finished the C25K program this week, and I'm running my first 5k on November 3rd (Hot Chocolate Chicago!). Last night I ran 2.3 miles in 32 minutes, and my current plan is to just add 2 minutes to each run until I'm actually running 3.1 miles. I was wondering how other people bridged this gap if they had one after…

When did you feel a sense of accomplishment?
When did you feel a sense of accomplishment? I felt it during the 3 and 5-minute runs a little, but the big moment for me was definitely W5D3 during the 20-minute run. I think that everything will be a breeze from here. I can't believe that last wk, I was struggling during the last parts of the five-minute runs, and now,…
