This is an amazing story. If any of us think we are too old to get fit, we need to remember this lady, she also set a record time for the age group. She is AWESOME. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jun/01/harriette-thompson-92-oldest-woman-complete-marathon-san-diego

Establishing new habits
I was reading an article about establishing new habits ....and they suggested it takes several weeks at least before something we do becomes a habit. For years I have walked to town every morning and regard this as a habit ....I don't even think about it, I just do it! They suggested tying an action you want to establish…

Question for Fitbit Users
I got a Fitbit Flex for Christmas and, so far, I'm using it independent of MFP. I know there is a Fitbit group. Most people in that group have linked them. But, I'm wondering, have others in this group who have one linked it to MFP? I'm not sure I understand what the benefit would be to linking. So, I'd be really…

http://walking.about.com/cs/measure/a/webwalkingusa.htm I decided that in June it might be interesting to start on this trail across the country! At the pace I walk, it will take me the rest of my life to get from coast to coast, but a few of you could reach it this summer! I am going to spend the rest of last two days of…

New to MFP, arthritis, and Volumetrics
Hi, all. I'm 67 at this writing. I joined MFP about a week ago and have really enjoyed tracking my meals and weight online. I have, ideally, about 100 pounds to lose. At minimum, I need to lose about 30 so my doctors can re-evaluate the need for a knee replacement! To lose the weight, I'm following the principles of…

Sort of new to MFP.....
Hi...I just signed on after months away. I have been using FitBit, and it suddenly stopped working, so I came back here. I'm a retired high school teacher, husband, dad, and proud grandpa of 5. This summer my MD told me I was early stage diabetes so no more playing around with my weight. At that time I was 240...my…
