Just 1 week ago I had a revised gastric bypass and my pre-op surgery weight was 290 lbs. I go in today to see my physician…

I'm at the end of all of the pre-op consults but am feeling purely overwhelmed and now having some possible second thoughts about surgery. It just seems like the more doctors I see, the more things that I'm finding out are wrong with me. Every week is more testing and doctor appointments and I hate it. I can't help but…

Struggling with a plateau
I was banded on 1/31/13. Down 43lbs to date, but the first 40 pretty much came off easily between Jan - May including 2-3 fills, then I stalled all summer at about 40lbs lost. I held stead for 3 months, had 1 fill but it didn't do much during that time. After meeting with my NP 2 weeks ago she suggested a drastic calorie…

Surgiversary and NSV
Today is my one year surgiversary! I am so glad I chose to utilize RNY as a tool for weight loss. I am just thrilled with the way that it has allowed me to not only make changes in my eating habits, but also made me look at other habits that were not so healthy as well. I feel better both internally and externally.…

Pre-Op Diet Concerns
Hello all, I'm new to the group. It's a pleasure to encounter you! My name is Leah, and I'm 20 years old. After over a year of battling with insurance I was finally approved for surgery Mid August. 3 years post band surgery and gained weight ugh
So here is my confession since they say confession is good for the soul. I was banded three years ago, did great my first year but slacked off on getting fills etc because of cost. I had my gall bladder out last year and just before that a hystorectomy both were done laproscopically so i had to deflate my band a bit.…

Question for Teachers?
I am starting the journey towards WLS and I am hoping for a date next spring. I teach high school juniors and seniors and I was originally thinking about not telling about my WLS, but I'm pretty sure they'd figure it out sooner than later. I planned on telling my co-workers that I would be out on medical leave and I would…

Iron Supplements
Hi all :) So I go in for my 3 month post-op checkup and at that point I have to start taking iron daily. Are there any iron supplements you would recommend? I have heard a lot of issues with constipation and burping up a nasty taste from iron pills, so I'm trying to avoid that as much as possible. Any info would be great.…

Eating back calories...ugh.
I am 21 months post-RNY. I just started a moderately active job and I am finding that with all the calories I am burning from work, I am physically unable to eat them all back. My pouch doesn't tolerate solid proteins well at all. As far as the doctor is considered its not an issue, just a quirk with my pouch. Everyone's…

Focus on Taste?
So, I had my lap band surgery almost 3 years ago and I have done well, lost about 120 and counting. Mentally I still have a great desire for food, but I have noticed over the last several months I am focusing much more on taste. I have always considered myself picky because there are many foods I just won't eat although I…

Am I starving myself
I went to a support group last night, the topic was the science of starvation. As for the challenge, I have weight trained 3 days a week, serious HIT training 2 days a week, and 7000 to 14000 steps daily. Great right? You would think so, but my weight has been 179 plus/minus 1 pound every day July 2010! Yes 3 years of…

Hair falling out question
So, I've hit that point my hair is falling out. Not a ton, but it's noticeable, especially when I shower. It's pretty minimal compared to some people. Anyway, the point to all this is I want to dye my hair. I haven't done it in over 2 years. But I finally got bored with my hair (more white is starting to show through too…
