Protein During Liquid Post Op Phase
I had my RNY on 7/16 and have yet to get in a days worth of protein. It just makes me so sick. I have tried Unjury, Isoprol, GNC, Super Advanced Whey and a myriad of others. I just can't stomach them. How bad is this? I am getting my daily water in no problem it is just the shakes that I can't handle. Any suggestions out…

How long did it take you.....
I have been trying to pay more attention to my friends list and those of you that have had weight loss surgery. I have noticed many of you have lost within in a year what it took me two years to do. Makes me wonder if I did something wrong, or if it all goes back to everyone having different metabolisms and such. Maybe I…

5 Day Pouch Test
I've been stalled out for almost 4 weeks now, so I am starting a 5 day pouch test. I've done this before, back in Jan/Feb and it gave me a kick start. I have found my eating habits over the past few weeks have gotten a bit slack. I've definitely been testing my pouch and had a couple of accidental binges. I'll keep you…

Hurt
I live in a house that right now has three adults other than me and a two year old. The two older children are visiting their grandparents for the summer. Why am I, the one that just had a RNY and can't eat the one that has to cook dinner? I can't even taste it to see if it is seasoned enough. Is it asking too much for…

question about diet(4 days post op)
I am doing the liquid diet as I am supposed to, but I feel hungry every hour. Is this normal?? I am having chicken and beef broth, Popsicles, jello(sugar free) but I feel like I should not be this hungry. I wasn't this hungry in the hospital but the broth they gave me was thicker than the broth I have now. Today I had…

Post-Op RNY Stressing Over Future Pregnancy
I have always wanted a big family, I love children, I can't imagine a better, more important job than being a mommy... but now, after having my Gastric Bypass surgery in December, I am starting to kick myself, what was I thinking!? I have a 6 month old baby boy now, but I want more children in the future, and all I can…

Depression?
I am 10.5 months post-RNY, and things are going along beautifully in the world of weight-loss. I spent a few months at the beginning of my journey with problems and didn't start on actually losing weight til about month 3, so I am still losing easily, as though I was about 2 or 3 months earlier. I know that is not a…

I too am back home
Had surgery yesterday and everything went smoothly. Had the RNY and I feel great, Some soreness but the Hydrocodone is taking care of that. The hardest thing has been not picking up my two year old. I was showing my incisions to my mother and little D was there and she starting crying, Poor thing doesn't know what is going…

Vacation nerves - suggestions needed
I had my sleeve on 7/1/13. All has been pretty good far adjusting to food. I am just on my first week of pureed foods. I am going away for the weekend to the lake with a childhood friend and we are staying at a B&B (this trip was planned way before my surgery was even scheduled). I have already contacted the proprietor…

Surgery done, back home!!
Everything went as planned. I actually feel really good. Better than I thought I would. Not a lot of pain really. I'm only sore where my port is(I got the lap band). I'm just taking things slow and trying to keep sipping so I won't get dehydrated. I'm so glad that part is behind me. Know the real work begins!!

PreOp diet and Diverticulitis
I spent last night in the ER on morphine and IV antibiotics with a diagnosis of diverticulitis. It's very frustrating as I've been so careful to watch my diet and am losing weight but apparently my diet is not good for my gut. Anyone with similar problems or experience? The fiber I was using before are the fiber gummies…

I'm so glad I'm in the home stretch. i am so looking forward to having a few days off work to catch up on some sleep. I need to go get my supplements(calcium, B12, multivitamins). Is walmart any cheaper than…

Kind of worried
So I read a lot of success stories on here about people who have gone through the Gastric bypass surgery. Id like to know what are the most difficult things that I may or may not have to prepare myself for. I haven't gotten a date scheduled yet, I'm still not even 100% that I want to go through with it. I have never had…

Share your NSV for today or this week!
I bought a couple of pairs of capris in the next smaller size when I got my last new (used) clothes, and fit into them today for the first time! So thrilled that I have cute things for work even as I shrink out of the previous clothes! What victories have you had in the past few days?

4th of July Weight Loss Challenge Anyone?
Hey guys, so I miss having weight loss challenges. I was thinking of just doing a summer one to June 1 or something, but then that just seemed too short. I like having 2 to 3 month long challenges myself, and I figured the 4th of July is when a lot of us will probably be hanging out with family and friends who maybe…

Hair Loss, Texture Help
So as many of you know, and have experienced on your own, I am at the hair loss stage of my RNY surgery. While I am not losing a ton yet, I am noticeably shedding more than I did pre-op. I do take my vitamins religiously, and get my protein in daily, but I am noticing that the texture of my hair seems to be affected as…

calorie question
I know that the "rule" is 1200 cal per day to keep your body from going into starvation, but after surgery isn't hard to get in 1200? I sometimes can't get 1200 in now.

tomorrow is the day
8am tomorrow begins the next phase of my journey. My two week diet has not been too bad. Did I do it perfectly - NO. But I learned a lot about the mental part of this in the process. I feel much more equipped to handle some of the challenges now than I was a few weeks ago, including planning and taking things with me, and…

The Bad Stuff
Ok my husband says that I have on rose colored glasses and am only seeing the good stuff to come from having the surgery. So hit me with all the "bad stuff" that comes with having a RNY. Please don't hold back. Thanks.

In need of support
Hi everyone, I am in need of friends on my fitness pal. I have lost 121 pounds since September 26th 2012 and need to lose 22 pounds before my year anniversary. I am having a hard time with getting my exercise in and am eating the right things but to many times a day. So I would love to support others as well. Friend me!

PreOp Fatigue
I am sooooo tired. It is all I can do right now to get through the work day. My surgeon's PA said this is normal, since I am taking in about 1/3 of calories I was before my preop diet. Also, I had to stop my multivitamins on Sunday as my surgery is next Monday. Add to that I am now caffeine free. Yesterday after work I…

Post-op Plateau
So I'm seeing that it's pretty common to hit a plateau after surgery, but how long did yours last? Just curious. I lost 16 pounds the first week after surgery, 6 pounds the 2nd week, and I haven't lost a pound in 4 weeks now. This 4 week plateau is awful!!!
