  • We use a ton of ground hot italian sausage. I make: pizza; sausage, broccoli rabe and quinoa pasta in white wine sauce; I put in in red sauce to make a ragu, I've even put it in scrambled eggs. All on 1200-1300 cals a day. You can do it!
  • yes - ive gained 2 pounds in the last week - im eating 1200 cals a day; this shoulnt happen, but it is. im staying focused on my goals, and will only try to look deeper if i dont lose for another 2-3 weeks.
  • Ugh. Up another .4 pounds a day. This is just getting weird, and increasingly frustrating. I'll stay the course... Hopefully this works it's way out soon.
  • This was helpful. Never thought about water weight signs other than just feeling bloated and kind of gross. I don't feel that way, but do feel like my belly looks bigger and fingers and wrists too.... Hmmm I've tried to be aware of my sodium, but maybe I added more salt when cooking than I thought...
  • anyone else have any experiences or ideas?
  • 30 was my cutoff too. Up until 30 it seemed like all I had to do was think about losing weight for it to fall off. Not no more!
  • I do have a goal region 125-130; I understand and accept weight fluctuations, my concern is because this isn't 'normal' for my pattern. I have never gained weight every day for several days straight when it was not during TOM. Not sure I understand your question about what time of day I will have reached my goal? Has…
  • 37; 5'6; small frame; starting weight: 148 CW: 134.6 goal weight : 125-130. Not sure yet. Pick small goals you can accomplish consistently. Eat all the things you like, in moderation. Don't have a timeline for when you want to reach your goal. Only do this if you are creating a life change; a restrictive diet will not…
  • I don't exercise at all because of health reasons - I'm only 4 pounds away from my weight loss goal. You can eat whatever you want - just watch your calories and make it work.
  • i cook dinner 5-6 nights a week. takes me usually around 30 minutes of active time. There are a few things I prep so that when i get home I can shove them in the oven (like a spaghetti squash casserole that even my husband adores). You can buy a pressure cooker to cook things even faster. You could also start a dish…
  • my goal was for my wedding ring to fit the way it did when i got married. my fingers had become little sausages. i'm super excited that the ring is finally starting to fit how i want it to:)
  • My husband is horrified, but I just laugh so hard I cry.
  • I work with statistics for my job. Data is my life. But I recognize when it's helpful and when it's just a waste of time and effort. Most people don't know their individual, scientifically tested and confirmed BMR, so since we start by using guesstimates, trying to create exact data with an inexact starting point just…
  • there are a lot of great blogs that have nutritional info - skinnytaste and cooking light come to mind. Also, you could do what I do - i look at websites with 'light' meals, and i then use recipe importer to get it in the MFP, which then calculates calories. Once its in your system, you can log it wherever it makes sense…
  • ^^^this. I measure: bust, chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves and biceps. Some people also measure shoulders, neck, low waist and high hip. The more you measure, the more you'll see yourself lose. I've been very surprised by some of my losses - wouldnt have known at all without measuring...

  • easy - Ive only made changes that i'm cool with doing the rest of my life. no motivation needed to do things i want to do. i don't see this as a diet - on a diet i wouldnt eat what i wanted, how i wanted, which for me, would result in failure.
  • yes! I'm only sad more people aren't willing to try it (one family member in particular - she has every excuse in the book)
  • I used to walk briskly an hour a day for commute, now I drive an hour a day.
  • Logging doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment. I don't restrict foods- I eat cupcakes if I want, etc, I just fit into my calories. I also don't weigh anything. I use a measuring cup at home when available, and I cook almost all meals, so that has worked great for me. At restaurants, I do my best to log something, but I…
  • ^^^ this. I believe the recommendation is actually that you go 1-3 times a day. Essentially daily, but preferable is after every meal. I have a very hard time believing you're eating tons of fiber if you go this infrequently, but if that is true, I would take a trip to the dr to talk about it.
  • I exclusively use the app.
  • Not necessarily. I am 5'6, started at 148, down to 134 in 9 weeks. I haven't weighed a thing. I'm not opposed to weighing- if I stopped losing for over 6 weeks or started gaining, I would weigh. But that hasn't been necessary for me. I measure with measuring cups etc, whichiknow is not accurate, but neither is my base…
  • Dr. Weil spaghetti squash casserole is less than 300 calories and so filling my husband loves it!
  • I try to eat only foods in season, or foods I have canned, frozen, or stored in the root cellar. It's the natural way. If it's warming up where you live, it's natural that you would start to want spring and summer foods.
  • I don't exercise for weight loss; I have chronic Lyme. I have lost all my weight from diet management
  • Also... I'm also on ravelry, but not very active.... I taught myself to knit using youtube videos. Do yourself a favor and learn continental knitting. It's a million times faster.
  • I knit. I'm 36; took it up at 32. Love it. Best way to occupy a long train commute.
  • never heard of it. thanks for the PSA ;)
