there are a lot of great blogs that have nutritional info - skinnytaste and cooking light come to mind. Also, you could do what I do - i look at websites with 'light' meals, and i then use recipe importer to get it in the MFP, which then calculates calories. Once its in your system, you can log it wherever it makes sense…

^^^this. I measure: bust, chest, waist, hips, thighs, calves and biceps. Some people also measure shoulders, neck, low waist and high hip. The more you measure, the more you'll see yourself lose. I've been very surprised by some of my losses - wouldnt have known at all without measuring...

easy - Ive only made changes that i'm cool with doing the rest of my life. no motivation needed to do things i want to do. i don't see this as a diet - on a diet i wouldnt eat what i wanted, how i wanted, which for me, would result in failure.
-
yes! I'm only sad more people aren't willing to try it (one family member in particular - she has every excuse in the book)
-
I used to walk briskly an hour a day for commute, now I drive an hour a day.
-
Logging doesn't get in the way of my enjoyment. I don't restrict foods- I eat cupcakes if I want, etc, I just fit into my calories. I also don't weigh anything. I use a measuring cup at home when available, and I cook almost all meals, so that has worked great for me. At restaurants, I do my best to log something, but I…

^^^ this. I believe the recommendation is actually that you go 1-3 times a day. Essentially daily, but preferable is after every meal. I have a very hard time believing you're eating tons of fiber if you go this infrequently, but if that is true, I would take a trip to the dr to talk about it.
-
I exclusively use the app.

Not necessarily. I am 5'6, started at 148, down to 134 in 9 weeks. I haven't weighed a thing. I'm not opposed to weighing- if I stopped losing for over 6 weeks or started gaining, I would weigh. But that hasn't been necessary for me. I measure with measuring cups etc, whichiknow is not accurate, but neither is my base…

Dr. Weil spaghetti squash casserole is less than 300 calories and so filling my husband loves it!

I try to eat only foods in season, or foods I have canned, frozen, or stored in the root cellar. It's the natural way. If it's warming up where you live, it's natural that you would start to want spring and summer foods.

I don't exercise for weight loss; I have chronic Lyme. I have lost all my weight from diet management
-
Also... I'm also on ravelry, but not very active.... I taught myself to knit using youtube videos. Do yourself a favor and learn continental knitting. It's a million times faster.
-
I knit. I'm 36; took it up at 32. Love it. Best way to occupy a long train commute.

never heard of it. thanks for the PSA ;)

nothing wrong with porridge if you like it. I eat oatmeal every morning, and my carbs are rarely over 50% - typcially only if i built in sweets like cupcakes for the day.

Very good point. I'm lucky in that I'm an hourglass body type so I gain and lose weight proportionally. Also the clothes you wear. I still wear my 'fat pants' because they're comfortable, but they are now 4 sizes too big. When I put on a skirt that fits though, sha ZAAM! If you're still wearing the same colthes, but they…

^^^ this. before TOM I WILL need to eat more food. I allow myself to eat at maintenance if I want. No harm done.

It looks like you are now modifying what you originally said. You stated alternative for pizza, NOT take out pizza. Why the modification? I don't eat take out pizza, or take out anything else. I cook all my meals. - Not that cooking is required to lose weight, it's not. But please don't generalize in a way you didn't…

I have very small bone structure and somewhere around 5-7 pounds was noticable on me. I'm 37, starting weight 148, CW: 135, GW: 130; I've dropped 4 sizes. I'm 5'6"

if you use the recipe importer tool, it will take you directly to the page where you found the recipe online....

check out skinnytaste.com or cooking light - lots of great options. This week's dinners (and leftovers) in my house are: quinoa spaghetti with meat sauce spaghetti squash casserole spicy corn chowder Ginger beef stew Roasted chicken, cauliflower and grape tomatoes with rosemary Last week I also made chicken pot pie soup…

Not trying to be a hater - the point I'm trying to make is more that I don't think it 'works' to not eat foods that you miss. If you're cutting foods you love out of your diet, ultimately, you'll binge and then be disappointed in yourself. I'm sure what you've made is very tasty, but my point is that I don't think this…

I'm wearing my 'skinny' jeans. - The jeans I last wore about 4 years ago, the last time I was in decently good shape!

Stop dieting. If you see this as a diet you will quit when you reach goal weight, you will always gain the weight back. If you are truly committed to a different way of interacting with food, then you will be successful. You'll quit worrying about a certain deadline, because there is no deadline - just the rest of your…

I deal with chronic fatigue caused by chronic Lyme disease. Which for me means, that I can't do consistent exercise. So I don't focus on that. I focus on diet. I've lost over 12 pounds in then last 9 weeks, and I only had 18 total pounds to lose. I have found it helpful at other times to focus on trying to be active for 15…

37; down 12 pounds and 4 sizes in 9 weeks. My husband is a chef, and I now cook all our food. We love food- nothing is off limits, I just fit in my cals.
-
At the wedding it was gluten free and vegan, or so I'm told. I wasn't there:)
-
If you miss pizza, why not have pizza? I make pizza with store bought fresh dough for between 200-300 a slice of a 6 slice pizza depending on the toppings. At so low a cal count, why not have the real thing?

I use frozen chicken all the time because I buy family packs at cheaper cost, and then split into frees able portions I wanttocookwith. Never had themberubbery- and hubby is a chef- he would tell if they were. I think rubbery happens from over cooking or freezer burn, not from proper freezing.
