  • I use almond milk and Splenda. The creamer doesn't sit as well. I drink far more than I should!

  • My loss was bad from 2-6 months post. Horrible. People mentioned it at some pre op meetings and I brushed it off. Like who cares. Then it happened to me! Horrible. I have a fraction of the hair I used to have. Then one day the excessive loss just ended. I haven't seen much growth as of yet (7.5 mo post), but the loss is…
  • Thank you all. I talked to my surgeon today. He said to track every last rash and bump and chafe. And maybe, eventually, insurance will pay. Do you think you'll go the plastics route? I'm trying to learn to "love the skin I'm in" pun intended. I'm worried that cutting won't help any... And I'll just want more and more and…
  • What are you drinking? Mine turned a modified color of whatever I was drinking. It was weird. Witch hazel wipes can help. And I used dr. Something baby butt paste. Helped a bunch.
  • I started out at 366 on 3/2/15 I was wearing a tight 26. I had the sleeve on 7/13/15, at 313. I had a tough go of it in the beginning and wondered what I had done with myself. The first month... Well, sucked. But that was 3 months ago and much has changed! I weighed in at 245 this morning. And I'm wearing a 16/18 or XL. I…
  • There are a ton of videos on YouTube. The Leslie sancone (I think) walk at home videos aren't too bad and my exercise physiologist recommended last winter. I'm in nh. I feel ya on the weather blahs!
  • I use protein powder in my coffee every morning. I brew 12 oz in my keurig. I use a half cup of fair life and mix my scoop of unflavored powder in it, then add it to my coffee. Then I'll add a shot of torani sf syrup. I'm liking the salted caramel and s'mores right now. Or if I want plain, just a packet of Splenda. About…
  • I was sleeved 7/13. I'm between 800-1000. Occasionally more if I've worked out and am hungry.
  • I'm struggling too! I just posted about it on my wall. Which type of nioxin are people using? It's so stressful! I've been taking biotin, but perhaps not enough? How much do you take in a day? Glad to see I'm not the only one!
  • Easter this year to the end of September. -100
  • Oh, @krissymae88- I hear ya! I've worn new balance for years, they do have the extended sizes. And some are cuter than others! I just want to go try them on rather than order and return, order and return. Plus it's really hard to compare when it's one at a time. If only I had a grand laying around and could order 10 at…
  • I was sleeved 7/13. I'll be 3 months tomorrow. I've started telling a few more people. I had a rough time of it the first month, but the scale has been sliding down and I am becoming more active. Overall, I feel great! Feel free to add!
  • October goals: 1.exercise 4x per week. Always a huge struggle! 2. Drink more. At about 46oz now. Add another 16. 3. Eat some sort of veggies every day
  • I had it bad too. I started eating a little bit more and it helped. I also started drinking a vitamin water zero every afternoon and they have pretty much gone away.
  • Woohoo! That's awesome!
  • What a transformation! Great work!
  • I did dr hymans ten day detox to start. It was wild. Dealt with a lot of the psych issues too. I told myself I could do anything for 10 days. I lost 16 lbs! Then I transitioned into low carb/whole food and did well.
  • Hi there. I was sleeved 7/13/15. I'm down 32 since surgery. 85 total. Always looking for friends. Glad to hear you are recovering well.
  • Oh no! I hope you are feeling better and on the road to recovery!
  • I would not have been able to go back for at least 4 weeks after my sleeve. I had unexpected issues and the recovery was ROUGH! I'm great now, but it was a really tough month. I'm a teacher, so fortunately I was able to do it during summer vacation.
  • This is completely bizarre, but worth a shot I suppose. My fil had a horrible time with infections under his belly. A doctor that he was seeing for lymphoma randomly told him to try washing the infected area with standard head and shoulders shampoo. It cleared it all up within days. He's never had to go back to the…
  • Amazing! With the same start weight, you give me such hope for this journey! Keep up the great work!
  • Sinderstorm- some great ideas! Thank you. Yesterday my family stopped at McDonald's. Yikes! I got a grilled chicken sandwich, no bun or sauce. I ate half the chicken (2oz) and part of the tomato slice. Worked out well, it was good, and I actually felt like I was eating with my family! I've been eating a lot of the tuna…
  • Thanks everybody! Re reading my post I feel whiny and full of excuses. Not my intent! Just scared that I'll fall in the same traps. My kids are 1 and 2 so as much as I want them to help, they're just not there yet. I need to evaluate my after school teaching and see if I can reschedule a couple days even later to…
  • It is so frustrating, isn't it! I hit a plateau 3 weeks out. Lasted for a week and a half. People here, and my dr said its normal. Your body has gone through some major changes. Trust the process. At that few calories, the weight has to come off! Just relax and trust the process. I started weighing myself every few days,…
  • It's funny how different programs can be. I'm 4 weeks out and I'm in 'soft foods'. 3 meals a day. Protein shakes between if need protein. No raw fruits or veggies, only cooked/no sugar added. No beef. Can have toast or cracker, no bread. I've been eating a ton of those flavored tuna packets. Never liked tuna before! I'm…
  • As of today, one month post op. Down 23. -18 in first 2 weeks and I've basically stalled since then.
  • Sleeved 7/13/15
  • Hi there. I'll be 4 weeks out on Monday. I've had a relatively easy time of the liquid and protein, but had a horrible time with pain. My stomach is fine, but the incision where they took my stomach out has had some issues that my surgeon is watching. I usually bounce back quickly from surgeries. 2 csections, gallbladder…
  • I went to a ZBB concert at Fenway tonight and I sat in those super narrow built in 1912 seats. And fit!!! I didn't have to lean forward because my hips were too big, or onto my husband because I was crowding the person on the other side. It was... Nice (and fabulous!!)
