I’m a big fan of eating less in the mornings, so that I can have larger portions or more snacks at night. With that said, it is also okay to experience a little discomfort if you don’t have any room left. Acknowledge the thought “my mind is telling me that I want to eat right now, but I know that I am not feeling hungry.”…

Just thought this was a really great reply and wanted to make sure everyone saw it. Again. Besides the support from those experts, this is probably one of the best pieces of advice for those that are confused when they unintentionally gain weight/ aren’t losing weight.

Oh gosh, I’ve done that a few times!

For me, it was the stress of having too much on my “life” plate. I’m a single parent, two kids, had returned to school to get my Masters, and was working full time. Something had to give... which, unfortunately, ended up being my diet/tracking lifestyle. I had lost 20lbs (out of my 30lb goal), but gained 10lbs back. When I…

Like a lunge mixed with a warrior one pose? I’ll have to google so that I can try. My hips are so tight, despite stretching with a runners lunge (my hips are aligned properly). OP, if you’re into yoga, the pose “wild thing” is lovely for hips (it may be known by other names too)

You have received great advice - good luck

I love meal prep! This week for lunch, I have an Italian chopped salad that I found on Pinterest. Everything is chopped but left in separate containers, so it doesn’t get all soggy and gross. Normally, I do prep my meal containers though. Next week, I’m planning on making some Cajun sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli, and…

What do you like to eat? Sweet? Salty? I’ve cubed a potato, added spices (salt, pepper, garlic, paprika), and cooked it for 40 minutes. Some people have made roasted chickpeas or pumpkin seeds, but I haven’t yet. What about a baked apples? I haven’t tried that, but I’m sure there’s a recipe out there. I think I’ve seen…

I would literally be going to emerge rather that posting to any board - especially at the two week mark.

It sounds like you need more support than what we can give you. I recommend that you discuss this with your doctor, and seek support from a counsellor.

Meet this "problem" at the source. If your MIL says things that cause you to experience those feelings, then use assertive statements with her.

This. I'm definitely not sedentary - I average in at 11,600 steps per day. However, seeing the negative calories was difficult for me. So, I'm set at sedentary and can only go up from there! My calorie goal is 1530. This works well for me.

Unless there is a disability causing a barrier, all comes down to your own choices. Sure, things get in the way and they make us change our minds (ex. Family emergency, illness, etc.). You choose your own thoughts about exercise, which impact your feelings towards it, and then your behaviours follow suit. Thinking "I don't…

This. I also agree with another poster about the negative view of the word "cheat," like you've done something wrong. Eat what you want, but just make sure you remain in a deficit.

I'll be entering in about 30-45 minutes, so I'll see then.

My scale batteries were dying; I could tell because it shut off faster. I've been consistent weighing in around 145-148, then one morning, I suddenly weighed in at 133. Pretty sure I didn't drop 12lbs overnight LOL Those batteries were changed and the next day, my weight was back to the 145-148 range. Note: I wish that 133…

My kids have cheap ($30) Redgo fitness trackers that I found on Amazon. They sync to my phone and have worked well since received at Christmas. They look like fitbits. I have a Fitbit Versa. It's pricy, but I LOVE IT!

Try it out. If it works for you - great! I'd be thinking about daily lifting and the recovery needed to be successful, so keep that in mind. Personally, it would lead me to burn out.

Cool, thanks for sharing this. I'll have to check it out!

Sounds like you could benefit from some Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help manage your food struggles.

I struggle with the same issue. I have no problem reaching my caloric goal. I save most of my exercise calories and eat them all back on weekends. Weekdays are so busy for me, that it can be difficult to get in pre-logged foods. Weekends are much more relaxed. We have pizza night about every other Friday, for example, and…

Because it's delicious. Duh :D

Your expectations are far too aggressive. Slow and steady! 1lb/week may be fine, but I'd even drop that down to 0.5lb/week loss.

Manic episodes can be such a struggle. Take care of yourself :)

All of the food that enters your mouth. All.

I like making curry dishes and putting that over riced cauliflower. I've never been a big rice fan (we ate too much of it growing up), but this works nicely for me.
