  • Add me ! I did 1800 for a while but my trainer think its not enough ! I'll try to up it.
  • I would just feel it would be in the way when cooking...I have 10 inch chef knife that I use on a daily basis - actually many times a day. I would be scared to damage the ring if an accident occurs or just wouldnt feel comfortable, i use my hands a lot when cooking. Thanks for your answer :)
  • Thanks for your answer. i actually don't mind taking it off for the "symbolic" reasons, i don't feel the need to wear a silicon band or anything. My question was more about my safety while lifting/ damage that could be done to the ring and the stress to take it off and perhaps loose it or having it stolen. Its not crazy…
  • Not no ring at all, just not such a flashy bling. I don't know, I still have to think about it. I really want it, but I fear its not at all practical for my lifestyle. I'm might be less worried about a 800$ gold wedding band than a 5000$ diamond ring when taking it off at the gym (can't always go back home before going) .…
  • Thank you all for you answers! You got me thinking it might be silly to get a ring that I will have to take of almost two times a day (cooking and gym) + the fact that I will stress about it at the gym. I like the idea to put it on chain around my neck, I will look into that. Even with a plain basic ring I will have to do…
  • Thanks for your post - what you're saying is basically what I think will happen. I'm super tempted by this piece of jewelry...i never really had anything nice or fancy and we are not rich what-so-ever so it would really be something special... But I can't get out of my head that it's silly to get such nice jewellery when I…
  • And where do you put them when you workout?
  • I'm 5'8 and I started at 204. I'm now 196.7, in about 2 months, although lost wasnt consistent because of business trips. I eat 1800 calories, workout (spinning) about 3 times a week and don't eat back exercise calories most of the times (except friday nights haha). So about 1 pound per week in average, but its more 2…
  • I'm sorry you are having such a tough time. Life is life, and I hope you can move on from the tough few months you just had. Now seems like a great time to start fresh : and you seem very set on achieving your goals. Grad school can be hard...I put on a little more than 40 pounds by the time I finished it...take good…
  • Its not easy, I do feel discouraged sometimes, especially lately : it seems life is always in the way (thanksgiving, convention, business trip, overtime, seeing friends, needing a night out...). I just try to see the bigger picture : i'm already out of the 200, my new clothes fit better, i still have time for a 17 pounds…
  • What you want to do is eat at a deficit to loose weight. Rule of thumb : you should loose about 1 pound for every 3500 calories deficit. Depending on your level of activity, starting weight, height, age, etc...the number of calories you need to eat to be at a deficit will vary. For instance, I have an active lifestyle…
  • Actually I decided to take a nice walk with my love instead of going to essentrics yesterday! The weather was just TOO lovely to be inside...but yes, essentrics is at my gym, they have over 90 class per week of different sport and i have an unlimited pass :) ! I had a spinning class at 6 tonight but i'm quite upset because…
  • 3 workouts are done too, gonna do a 4th one tomorrow morning! I haven't seen the biggest change yet...in fact i went clothes shopping today and it was the most depressing thing ever. Anyway...let's keep going!! It's so great to ear you already have more energy and endurance! Keep it going, you seem to be on a roll! Trying…
  • This is right. Eating as few calories in a day is very dangerous. Your tdee is your Total Daily Energy Expenditure ...and no matter what your tDEE is, you should never eat below 1200 calories, which is why, as weight loss progresses you loose weight slower. For example, my TDEE is 2250 calories and I eat between 1700-1800…
  • Hi, Thanks for opening up, its not easy, but you definitely are at the right place. I suffer from anxiety (and social anxiety) and had have similar thoughts especially about money and exercise. First of all, I entered your stats in a calorie counter and i couldnt help but notice that your calorie intake seems rather…
  • How was your upper body workout britters522? How is everybody's week so far? I'm late on my workout schedule due to a cold! Need to get back to it ASAP!
  • My pleasure! Just be careful with your ratios as some have said earlier. Too much protein can be tough on your body. Have you talked to a doctor or dietician about this? Protein is the toughest source of fuel to burn for your body (it uses carbs and fats first). My nutritionist explained to me that anything that doesn't…
  • I love hemp hearts, chia seeds, flax seeds, edamame, tofu dips...these are my go to sources of proteins when maintaining a higher level of protein (35% prot, 30% carbs, 35% fat is what I do). They can be added to pretty much anything! Of course, there is all dairy products, eggs, meats and sea food. Canned tuna & sardines…
  • Good job on getting 30 mins in ! My walk was short but lovely...it was the first of colder temperature here... I LOVE IT! I'm going out of town this week-end, i'll try to squeez in a spinning class before leaving tomorrow night! I hope you all have a lovely evening!
  • Beautifull day here in Montreal! Will add a walk to my lunch hour! Hope you are all doing awesome :) have a good workout tonight britters522!
  • Hope you all had great workouts! I'm at 3 spinning class already this week! Lets keep it going!
  • Woop woop! That's awesome :) ! I got 2 out of 50 done! Let's do this
  • Great thread, very motivational. I just set my calories to 1800, with a 30% carbs, 35 % fat and protein. I use to aim for 1400 but havent had much success. I'm 5'8, 202 as of today. My first goal is to reach 180 and not to yo-yo ever again. Hopefully i will have energy to achieve more intense training with this eating! If…
  • That's great advice. That's what I did. I would add that If you have a pedometer, I found it help me get moving because you can set your self a target for the day. There are also great app to help create habbits. Just remember, weightloss is 80% (or even more) what you eat...so I would suggest starting with calorie…
