Good advice, thanks! The # seemed high to me, thank you for the clarification

^What everyone said, it's about watching calorie intake. I have a desk job and a long car commute (read: I sit all day)and if I don't stay below the calories recommended for "sedentary/no exercise " the weight creeps upward. Try to make an effort to get up and walk around for 5 minutes once every hour, for your brain as…

I love all of the input, please keep it coming!

These tips are so great, thank you! I love the idea of a walking meeting

Haha, trust me, I have definitely considered the "get a new job" diet! :) But I think a lot of us have times when we do need those bursts contrary to a relaxed, well-balanced lifestyle. What do ER nurses or firefighters do, for example? I'd love to know what other folks do for those go-go-go moments that last longer than a…

To the OP, I have lost 12 lbs so far but slower than I'd like (3 months to get there, with another 22 lbs to go to be "normal" BMI) and once I lose I know I can't just let it go, I still will need to be strict <1400 calories to maintain. It stinks but the discipline makes me proud.

My husband is 5'7" too! Height was never a factor but I'm 5'0" and we look great together. Find a nice short girl ;) My husband can eat more than I can but neither of us can eat like people 5 inches taller. It stinks but you have to do what's right for you. Lose weight for you. The right woman will love you for who you…

Thanks all for the tips and the motivation! To clarify on the "healthy", my goals in large part include the kinds of things my doctor would like (reducing sodium & added sugar, increasing fiber and good fats, balancing carbs with proteins and fats, etc, eating a variety of veggies) as well as reducing calories and…

I've been told it evens out, which is why we don't end up with arms lopsided to our dominant side. If you are worried maybe shake up your workouts, do things backwards, favor your non dominant side for a few workouts

I'm one of the ones who prefers no snacks and water only...I feel better if I can eat real food for meals! Breakfast: plain oatmeal or sometimes veggie egg white on an flatbread or English muffin. Around 200-300 calories Lunch: Low sodium soup with a salad (not too much dressing) or a hummus or turkey sandwich with flat…

You are just at 10 weeks, if you keep up bf'ing you will probably lose over the next 4 months without any extra effort. Eat what you need to keep your supply and energy up. Go for walks with the stroller or do floor exercises at home next to baby if you want to be more active but for the first 6 months - and definitely the…

Good for you!

100 for 5'0" may be in BMI range but it doesn't work for everybody. There is a reason the range is 95-128! I'm barely 5'0" and I was 100 before puberty but by the time my body finished growing in by age 14 the scale was at 108 and that was totally ok, all of those new curves had to take up some weight! It looked good as a…

I'm 5'0 and usually have between 1000-1300 / day, depending. You can do it and get your nutrients but everything really has to count. I eat lots of vegetables (lots of nutrients for few calories) and whole grains and beans. I have lean meat only once a day (if at all), breads tend to be slim (pita or sandwich bread vs…

You can on the app version too, at least with Android. I had the same problem and it took me a while to fix, but go to the Progress page and press and hold whatever weight you want to delete until you get the pop-up that lets you delete it

Chocolate! (I'm making allowances)

It's just a few days a month - do what you gotta do! You know you'll be back on track in a few days, take care of yourself when you need to.
-
Remember your goal - by dinnertime you are only a few hours away from a whole new day. Push through, you can make your goal! Or if you absolutely feel the need to have a splurge, make it one specific thing: a glass of wine, a dish of ice cream, a second helping of your favorite dish...whatever is a huge motivator yet works…

Thank you for the encouragement and kudos to everyone on your weight loss achievements. We are all rocking the O categories! Keep up the good work!

This. Look up "food chaining", there are books on techniques on how to do this. Getting used to being around the food helps, the chaining technique is a gradual way to start with foods you like plus something similar to the phobia food(s), then once you have conquered that have something a little closer, until you make…

I like your style ;) Thanks all for the suggestions!

Thanks all!

Anything that balances carbs with fat and protein. I'm a fan of veggies with hummus, certain low salt high fiber tortilla chips are good, too. Greek yogurt is another go to if it's not too sugary (go for one with fat), sometimes just an apple does the trick

I am but I have no advice for you :)

Thanks all! Glad to see I'm in good company :)

Thank you so much for the advice and words of encouragement! This gives me so much hope. And wow, well done!

Thanks! I weighed 110 in college but my doctor thought 115-120 would be healthy for me now. Even 125 would keep me at a healthy BMI. But right now I'm at 155 - way too much! I would like to exercise more but my job and commute keep me sedentary and I feel lucky to even steal the 30 minutes I have.
-
I forgot to mention, I do exercise but I've only been able to steal 30 minutes a day to go jogging. It knocks off about 200 calories which isn't nothing but it only goes so far

Thank you all!

...for lower sugar baked goods. Diabetes cookbooks are great. But don't pick ones with artificial sweeteners, look for recipes that add more fiber and use fruits for sweetening. An example would be blueberry muffins sweetened with orange juice or bread or cookies that use applesauce. You still get the sweet taste buy less…
