It is cold today, but I'm hoping I can bundle up and power through. And when I say cold, it's only 28 degrees F, so not terrible, but it's the coldest day…
  • 12/1 - 1mi 12/3 - 1mi 12/8 - 2mi 12/9 - 1mi 12/10 - 1mi 12/11 - 2mi Total: 8/30 miles for December Slow and steady is winning this December race. Feeling good about my 2 miles now, so working my way back up and my next goal is running 2.5 and then 3 to see how I feel with that. It's not taking long to get back, but want to…
  • 12/1 - 1mi 12/3 - 1mi 12/8 - 2mi 12/9 - 1mi Total: 5/30 miles for December Haven't updated it in a few days, but I've been going sort of steady. A little behind, but taking it easy and listening to my body. I am hopeful that I can work more runs in, especially over the weekend, and also work my way back up to the 3-4mi I…
  • Whew. Back after a month off. Goal for December is 30 miles and I'm adding strength training in the mix now too. It's good to be back with you guys on the forum! 12/1 - 1mi Total: 1/30 miles for December
  • Made it a mile before the outside of my left foot started hurting. Decided it would be better to stop there, call it a day, rest/ice/stretch and I'll see where I'm at Monday. My new shoes come in today, so I'm hoping that helps a bit, since new shoes are way overdue and could be why I'm having some pain. 10/1 - 3.1mi 10/2…
  • Run today was so nice! It rained all night so the air was crisp this (late) morning and it was just beautiful fall weather! New shoes tomorrow! In pretty good spirits after my slump over the past few days! 10/1 - 3.1mi 10/2 - 2mi 10/5 - 3mi 10/7 - 3.25mi 10/12 - 3.5mi 10/15 - 1.5mi 10/16 - 2mi 10/19 - 2mi 10/21 - 3mi…
  • meh. 2 miles today. Not feeling it, it was raining so had to run inside on the treadmill. Still did it though. Getting new shoes on Thursday, so maybe that will help bring back some motivation. 10/1 - 3.1mi 10/2 - 2mi 10/5 - 3mi 10/7 - 3.25mi 10/12 - 3.5mi 10/15 - 1.5mi 10/16 - 2mi 10/19 - 2mi 20.35/35 for October
  • thanks @WandaVaughn @Teresa502 @martaindale @quilteryoyo @kgirlhart for the birthday wishes! @maraindale sorry about your HM going virtual! I know its not the same at all. An easy two miles today because I wasn't mentally there, but wanted to get out and get it done. I did the c25k though and even though my heart wasn't…
  • wanted to run 3mi for my birthday yesterday, but a late scheduled meeting and my mom wanting to do lunch left no time for a run at all. Today is a bit odd since we are having our furnace inspected for a permit, but I blocked off time to make sure I got a run in today. 1.5mi with my pup! I'm a little shy of halfway for my…
  • @shanaber good call on making sure the sales person is a runner! I probably would have just assumed they were, but that's not always the case! @skippygirlsmom I'm hoping to find a place like that! There is a family chain that has about 4-5 stores in the metro-DET area that I am planning on checking out. Everyone who runs…
  • Alright, adding in a stop at the running store near my house to the agenda for this weekend! I'll let you all know how it goes! Today's run was great. Back is sort of achey, which does happen from time to time. Losing weight is helping and I'm down 30.5lbs from where I was 3.5 months ago after I gave birth, so just keeping…
  • Wow, thank you @Tramboman @RunsOnEspresso and @TheMrWobbly ! I actually didnt know there was such a thing as a gait analysis. I feel like theres so much more to running than I thought and learning so much still. I'll have to look up a nearby running shop and find some time to stop in! And @Scott6255 yeah i think my 50/50…
  • @quilteryoyo that's about where I am now. I have a lot of mental blocks I'm overcoming in the c25k. I know I could keep running, but my mind is still thinking "youve been running for so long now! You need a walking break!" It's probably half physical/half mental right now for me on this journey
  • since @TheMrWobbly brought it up and I'm still fairly new to running compared to you seasoned folks, can we talk shoes for a minute? I know I should invest in a good pair of running shoes (I just have a pair of Nikes now, but they are getting old). What should I keep in mind? what do I look for? I've always just gone with…
  • I took the weekend off, but got a run in yesterday! I just didn't have the time to come back here to log it because work is picking up. I skimmed through so I'll respond back to a few things but I'm sorry if I missed anything! @kgirlhart sorry about the job loss but also excited for you for the new opportunity! I have my…
  • Nice easy 2 mile today! It felt good to get out and stretch the legs after the 5k yesterday. Not sure when/if I'll run this weekend. TBD, but I'd only run one of the days, not both, just to make sure I get at least one rest day in before the c25k run on Monday! 10/1 - 3.1mi 10/2 - 2mi 5.1/35 for October
  • @skippygirlsmom my husband and I high-fived once we made it out of what would have been the 'two under two' range, and then decided to have a baby :D IF we have a third, we will wait until our youngest is 3 @polskagirl01 thank you and THANK YOU! :) I did not know it was an hour window, so I appreciate that a lot! I just…
  • Today was a perfect storm (quite literally) for my run. 1) my running partner (divorced friend) slept in and wasnt answering my texts, so I decided to go anyway, 2) it started hailing as soon as I opened my door to go outside, despite no rain/hail being in the forecast for another three hours, 3) I started running after it…
  • Replying to your Sep comment in October @kgirlhart but yes! I have a 3 (almost 4) month old and a 2.5 year old. So sleeping is really hit or miss lately. I'm surprising myself that I'm still going out for runs on days when I have a rougher night, but I know if I used that as an excuse to not run every time, I'd never get…
  • Hey, y'all! Even though I didn't reach my goal last month, I'm pretty sure I would have without my ankle business, so I'm moving the goal up to 35 for October! I have two virtual races this month too (Dunder Mifflin run and a Thriller/halloween run).
  • Meh, my three month old decided to have a slumber party with me and talk to me from 2am-4am, so I am beat today. Coupled that with the fact that I have meetings scheduled from 11-12 and 1-2 (so a narrower window for a run and lunch), I'm using today as my rest day and will do the 5k tomorrow to kick off October. 21 miles…
  • Finishing off September strong! Did an *easy* two mile run today! I would never have called two miles easy at the start of this month so I was really feeling the progress today! Goal is another 5k tomorrow to finish off September and then Oct 1 as a rest day. 9/2 - 2.25mi 9/4 - 2.25mi 9/8 - 1mi (injured ankle) 9/16 - 1mi…
  • Tried running on a trail today and my ankle was not liking it at all, so went back to sidewalk, but not before snapping this pic. Once c25k time was up, I ran for a little bit more and ended up making it a full 5k! Time wasnt the best, but I had fun and feel great, which is more important to me than the time. Ankle felt…
  • @quilteryoyo I'm so sorry on the news about your aneurysm. Hugs to you, friend. I echo others where I would probably want to "rip the bandaid off" and just get it over with. I decided to keep running after the c25k clock ended today. I was running with my friend who is going through a divorce right now and we needed more…
  • c25k today was two rounds of jog 90/walk 90/jog 3min/walk 3min. Those three min stretches are the longest I've ran without a walking break since I got back into running! It felt good. 9/2 - 2.25mi 9/4 - 2.25mi 9/8 - 1mi (injured ankle) 9/16 - 1mi 9/20 - 2.5mi 9/22 - 2.25mi 9/23 - 2mi 13.25/30mi for September
  • @Camaramandy648 yay for the negative test! Thanks @Teresa502 , @hamsterwheel6 and @quilteryoyo ! @Avidkeo that walk route looks amazing! Mine isn't bad (sometimes I think I take for granted the nice trees/nature/abandoned railroad tracks), but I absolutely love running and walking by water. Didn't manage a run…
  • I AR'ed a few soccer games yesterday since my ankle was feeling much better and my watch recorded 2.5mi by the time the two games were over. I had to be extra cautious about the turn and sprints, but overall it held up extremely well and isn't even sore today! No more pain at all and full range of motion is back. Not sure…
  • Definitely taking it slow! I plan on taking a rest day tomorrow and Friday to see how it reacts to the one mile, and if it is doing okay and continues getting better and better, I'll try again. If it hurts more tomorrow or Friday, I'll wait another week to gauge it. I'm also still working on my stretches and will make sure…
  • Was able to get on the treadmill today and an extremely slow jog/walk of one mile. Ankle felt a little sore during and I had to adjust the speed quite a bit to find the current sweet spot. It feels sore right now, but not too sore and not painful which is good! 9/2 - 2.25mi 9/4 - 2.25mi 9/8 - 1mi (injured ankle) 9/16 - 1mi…
