    Monthly question?
How much pie (or similar poor choice) have you eaten in the last 3 months?

I haven’t eaten that much pie lately, but I seem to have been eating everything else for the last few weeks. I actually bought a new battery for my scale yesterday, so we shall see in a few minutes how much damage has been done. I did buy some mincemeat mini pies at Fresh Market a few days ago to take to my parents’ house for the holidays, although I am uncertain of anyone else will eat them. My husband wouldn’t touch them when we were in England a few years ago.

Today's assignment from the Yeti 12 Days of Christmas Challenge was to walk a 5K. Due to time constraints and the fact that it was cold, windy and raining outside I decided I would do a run/walk combo on the treadmill. I set my Garmin to treadmill mode. I realized after about 2 1/2 miles that my Garmin was not recording the distance when I would walk. The time on the watch kept ticking but not the distance so I ended up doing almost 4 miles according to the treadmill just to get my Garmin to hit 3.1.

The director didn't email today's assignment until after 11:00 pm ET last night which is way past my bedtime.
He's doing better today though. He sent tomorrow's assignment which is a 5 mile progressive run before lunch today.

I hope your dad's spirits pick up @quilteryoyo! Glad his oxygen levels are doing better.

And I did it! Brrrr....getting some hot coco.

That sounds like a plan. It's cold here today, too. Actually not super cold, but it was in the 70's a couple of days ago. The rapid swings make it feel a little extra miserable. Reward cocoa sounds like just the thing to get me out the door.

@quilteryoyo I'm keeping you guys in my thoughts. How is your mom holding up? It is a good sign that they are able to wean your dad's oxygen requirement, even a little. I hope he continues on the path to recovery.

Just in passing - all the Europe Pastor Vincent Memorial medals were sent on Saturday. They are on a 'signed for' delivery.

    You rock. Thank you!

I had speedwork on the schedule for after my morning daycare class, and my treadmill is in the same room where the kids are doing school. I was putting it off, not wanting to run during their classes (too noisy)... and then one class finished early and I realized I'd have a 30 minute window if I started immediately. I did 200 meter intervals (fast, then slow, repeat) until I ran out of time, and got exactly 5k. The faster pace felt better today, probably because of how short the intervals were.

@quilteryoyo I'm following your every update (here and on caring bridge), and am praying for all three of you.

    58.6/100 Miles

    12/1: 5.1 Miles
    12/3: 3.6 miles
    12/4: 10 miles
    12/5: 7 miles
    12/7: 3.6 miles
    12/8: 6.5 miles
    12/10: 7 miles
    12/12: 11 miles
    12/14: 4.8 miles

I waited until the afternoon for it to warm up a bit. It was still cold but the sun came out and that helps. My plan called for 0.5 mile repeats. It was a good workout and I’m glad I waited on the weather. It would have been really miserable this morning.

    @TheMrWobbly thanks!
@quilteryoyo thinking of you and your parents, I know how hard it is to know they're feeling that way and not be able to help, the medical part does sound like a bit of an improvement though!
