Good luck with the stress test Mike. I suspect a couple of mini-Reese's from yesterday wont make a difference. So sorry about your EX and hoping for the best for her too. I can't imagine 7 inches in 12 hours. Yikes Steve!! Definitely cooler today than yesterday. It "only" hit 96 degrees instead of a possible 100deg but…

Wow Dave that's great. My DS is getting ready to do the iconic Bailey Range traverse in the Olympic Mountains. sounds like quite the trek to me!! Yup I mowed the big lawn yesterday and will do the smaller piece before it hits 90deg today and close to 100 degrees tomorrow. Good to hear Joanne is doing better. An ordeal for…

We just got back from the Oregon coast where it was bumped up to 70-72 deg before we left our coastal haven in Manzanita (about 145 miles north of Bill). Glad to see your weight loss Bill. You lost and I gained whilst at the coast. Yup Dave it was 97degrees plus at our house yesterday and still 93 degrees when we got home.…

Off to Manzanita on the Oregon Coast (about 145miles by car North of Florence where Bill is) should be nice "coastal weather" w highs in the 60s mostly and seems to be a dry week. Gosh Steve you have "so much on your plate" right now and the dishes too!!! Cheers all.

Oh Mike so sorry to hear about DSIL's father and his bout with blood cancer and treatment. So sorry about your PTSD and anxiety with fireworks. Steve On my DW's morning walk there were lots of fireworks residues. I think pretty much all illegal. We went to a minor league baseball game nearby and had a nice firework show…

Gosh I luv Bernese Mt Dogs Very nice indeed. In this wacky weather year my neighbor gave me a Siletz tomato plant which I planted in a very large pot with a red wall-o-water type thing. Yesterday I harvested a 12.6 OZ tomato, my first of the year. I figured it was over a 1/2 lb and not a whole pound so I guessed right.…

Gotta luv Sassy being…well Sassy with her spiky ball. We use to time how fast our cat would shred an object stuffed with catnip at x-mas time. Probably upper 80s here today. 94degrees+ yesterday in PDX Nice early ride today. Stay comfy all>
-
Probably 94deg near PDX today and no heat advisory. We hit 90degrees yesterday but not bad. Yup 2 inches causes a lot of sorta major flooding around here on smaller creeks and roadways. Not much drainage in our mostly clay soil. Hope everyone is doing better. Ts and Ps for Sam and Joanne.

Me too. Very Glad Joanne is home again. Yeah Bill isn't it amazing how yard guys want to make big projects out of everything and charge and arm and a leg for the privilege. Got to see our weary GS back from Dubai at least for a summer break. Also my niece from Chicago showed up for a visit too. Nice afternoon/early…

Gosh I continue to send good Ts and Ps for Joanne and her issues. Sorry she is back in hospital being cared for. Yeah Lee My CV sent to Oregon Health Sciences University was several pages for sure and included list of publications as well as a copy of my Masters Thesis for at least one of the jobs. In some ways it is…

Uh…CV is a CURRICULUM VITAE (CV). It is usually a MUCH longer version of a "resume". Many professions especially in research and academia require a "CV". Lee has lots of life experience to include in his I am sure!! I would benefit from less salt but usually don't have much in my cooking. I did OD on Salted Pretzel Pieces…

so sorry about the heat and humidity for all you sufferers . In short term very nice here as Dave and Bill say. Hi of 70 briefly yesterday. Probably hit 90deg a day or two next week but not humid. The issue for us isn't the heat so much as the huge swings in Temps without warning or time to acclimate. And after all in PDX…

Yup hoping for good AAA screen Steve. Sorry Sam to hear about Joanne's ordeal for sure!! Luv it Dave! Ye old percolating coffee vs French Press. The nice thing about french press is that you can take it anywhere in the world from the Gobi in Mongolia to the dinosaur dig sites in Madagascar without a problem. One of my…

Sam: I too am soooo glad DGS is out of the hospital from rhabdomyolysis. Not fun. Like Dave it was chilly and rainy all day yesterday. Today is much better. Our pastor had a "rest" sermon today. Take a deep breath with all that goes on from our health to situations around us and the world. Yes Lee I pray for all including…

I agree with Lee. One always has to be careful overdoing muscle exercise as it can lead to rhabdomyolysis (muscle fiber extreme breakdown and ultimately associated kidney failure). My yoga teacher who was a very very fit lady worked extra extra extra hard hard with a personal trainer and ended up in the hospital with…

Extending my thoughts prayers and arms to Sam and his family. Temps have dropped here too in the low 70s after the one day of 82degrees. Hi tomorrow supposed to be 60deg and rainy. We definitely need the rain to somewhat dampen the wildfire threats. Onward and downward indeed gents

Unexpectedly popped up yesterday to 81 degrees of course when I was mowing lawn. A bit warm. Too much ups and downs to get use to the cold and warm days lately. Getting outdoors always help with my "dark" or depressing thoughts . I drag myself out of the house for sure. Good luck with Joanne Sam and also dealing with DMIL.…

Oh my Lee getting caught up here. Your boat propeller story was funny for those of us who weren't there. So sorry. Maybe the guys here can prop ya up??? Yes they are trying to make Nutria "table fare" as I understand it in places like Louisiana. We have the same problem with fur breeders bringing them to the NW and turning them loose in Oregon etc. They have become a real nuisance and I wonder if they aren't competing with the beavers for space. I haven't read that they do…

Guess I was AWOL Sunday. Yeah Steve also riding a bike make sure the seat is the right height and adjusted nicely fore and aft. With that and E-assist it should be decently easy on the knees. I have seen some local individuals riding kid sized bikes with their knees pumping up and down near their chins. Uhhh not good. I…

We hit 85 almost 86deg in PDX yesterday Hottest day this year so far I think. cooler today for sure. Boy I wouldn't mess with a 300 lb bear no matter what. My brother wrestled a bear one time in a publicity stunt. I don't think that bear weighed much and was short. I think you won a car if you could pin it. uhhhh no way!…

Wow Mike what a great trip seeing all that wildlife. Yea my wall-o-water type products have really accelerated my tomato plants for sure. Lettuce is a no brainer in cool weather. We have a large pocket gopher issue where I live and are home to THE largest gopher the so-called Camas Pocket Gopher AKA Willamette Valley…

Sorry Lee had such a long day with euthanizing someones beloved pet etc. Oh Steve so sorry about your pesky knee. \Yeah today could be the warmest day so far this year in PDX too. We'll see. Yes I hold all the sacrifices by members of the military and first responders in the highest esteem. We will have a military jet fly-over in the next few minutes over our house. Glad your hip is feeling better Bill. A somber day with the euthanasia Lee. I also hold my head in honor of dogs that gave their lives in service…
