I'm sending hugs. I'm sorry you had to deal with so many difficult changes. It's amazing that you maintained through it all. And you're going to do awesome getting back on track! My best beginner lifting tip is to be careful and make sure you use proper form. I have a bad shoulder from lifting too heavy too fast without…

Have you considered therapy? I'm not sure that weight loss is the answer- you need to fix the underlying cause of your compulsion and depression. What drove you to escape your life? Also, your accident must have been traumatic, it would be helpful to process that with a professional. Overeating and drinking too much…

Add me! I'm 26, 5'6, and 148 lbs. I'm a little ambivalent about my goal weight. When I started, my goal was 120. But I started lifting heavy (it's heavy for me at least) and I think that because I'm trying to save muscle mass, I might end up looking better at a higher weight. I need motivation tho!

Thank you SO much!

Air popped pop corn without butter has very few calories. You could try snacking on that- you can bowls of it for cheap, it's crunchy and salty.

1.5 years ago When was the last time you laughed CRAZY HARD, like a little kid?
-
@serapel Thank you! That was really nice to read! Also, I really appreciate everyone's advice! You guys are awesome! I rested all day yesterday and ate plenty. I'm a little tired still but the dazed feeling is gone. I think I want to rest at least one more day, then I'll start adding light workouts again. I do love walks,…

@TresaAswegan I do the elliptical at about 130 strides/min or go for really long walks around my neighborhood. I think the problem is that some days I would do 45 min of cardio in the morning then 45 min of weight lifting in the evening, and I'd do cardio almost every day.

Also, thank you so much guys for giving me a reality check. I tend to push things too far and be an extremist, that's how I gained weight in the first place. I'm trying hard to learn moderation. Thanks for helping me see I was overtraining.

@Sued0nim Enforced rest sounds wonderful! Does that mean no working out at all? Or should I lift very light weights and not do cardio?
-
@Sued0nim Sorry I replied to earlier posters saying that I'm going to exercise less this week to see how I feel. I'm planning on doing two more cardio sessions this week, one more strength session (with much lighter weights), and no more working out twice in one day. I usually eat in the calorie range my Fitbit gives me,…

I keep trying to post but MFP cuts it off.

Saddest: I lost weight in my face and I'm only 8 lbs down...I have super prominent cheekbones. What if I look like a skull by the time I'm done?! Happiest: Yesterday, I loved the way my thighs looked in my jeans

Thank you! You guys made me decide to start measuring my water. I assumed I was drinking enough, but now I'm not sure if I am or if I'm drinking too much.

1. I eat between 1700-2000 cal/day, depending on what my Fitbit says. I know I can't restrict my calories too much because I can't keep it up long-term. 1200 cal/day to me is a diet, it makes me want to binge. 2. I eat all kinds of food. I usually include cookies or candy or pizza or whatever in my daily calorie budget,…

Thank you so much everyone! I think I will start strength training two days and doing cardio two days, and no more working out twice in one day. I appreciate your support!

You are so inspiring! I want to hit 1000 days!!!

Thanks for posting this thread! It's given me lots of hope for my thighs and bum

THIS. You've always got to be paddling, even if it's slow.

Mine are: 1. Log food every day 2. Exercise 5x/week (strength train 3x/week) 3. Eat at least ~250 cal deficit/day 4. Find new ways of dealing with stress after work

I love this idea. I like how you call them beautiful habits. My name is Mila. I'm a 26 year old substitute teacher. I live in Southern California with my boyfriend. I've been working on developing healthy habits for about a month now. It's been hard lately. I'll be back with more later.

@Calimama123 My stats and goals are similar to yours! I'm 5'6 and 148. My original goal was to get to 120, but after doing some reading I'm thinking I'll want to stop and do body recomposition at some point, I'm just not sure where yet. Anyway, thanks for posting this thread! It's nice to know I can expect to lose ~.5 lb…

I am wishing you all the best. Are you sure you don't want treatment? Also, please don't worry about something as trivial as calories when you're dealing with something so huge. Please enjoy life as much as possible.

You can always choose success. Find your strength. It has to come from within you. I've been through a lot of hard things. I decided to be strong and keep going. I have a spine of steel. You can choose to make things better, a lot of choices are under your control. That said, since you are struggling so much on the inside,…

Good luck! I'm excited for you!

I've only worn things since I was 15. To me, there's nothing comfier no matter what I'm doing (As long as it's the right size!). I love VS too.

Add me! I am working on becoming more active. I log in every day and try to comment as much as possible.

It's okay, you can turn it around. Focus on moving forward and becoming healthy.
