  • I am all for hiking alone, skiing alone... not so much! I grew up between two large ski mtns in MT the risks are too many and too high to be skiing alone. Even my most experienced skiing friends always bring a friend!
  • I hike alone often, it’s ridiculous to say that we cannot live life if we are single or don’t have friends that can hike with us. I always let someone know when I am going and when I will be back. If I didn’t hike alone I would never leave my house, that’s insanity! There are risks, but there are also risks associated with…
  • I love running in the rain as long as it’s 1. safe (no frequent cloud to ground lightening) and 2. I am wearing merino wool socks!!! Seriously they are expensive but worth every single penny! Rain feels best if you are wearing tanks and shorts that dry quick, and it can be very refreshing. Another thing that can help is…
  • Run slower. There is a reason we are all saying it! When I first started I basically was walking with the form of “running”. If you can’t hold a conversation easily you are going too fast. Slow down, with time you will get faster... we promise!
  • I have the hydration vest/backpack with a bladder. It’s amazing and so worth it for myself, it’s the Nathan Firebreaker. It’s VERY comfortable and has convenient pockets for my energy supplements and phone/keys etc.
  • I am loving all of the responses! I actually love watching the people racing, spectators, and the scenery around me while running a race, that’s why I pay so much money to do it! That has nothing to do with my music and I’m not using it as a distraction.
  • I definitely feel that’s fair way to look at it! I would definitely not want to put any other runners out or in harms way.
  • This is so interesting! I have begrudgingly ran without music, but to me it’s really important, it’s hard to explain why but the music makes me feel something inside and that power helps on my runs lol.
  • And yet for someone who loves the taste of coffee but can’t have or doesn’t want caffeine its perfectly wonderful, we are not all in it for the buzz.
  • Lol obviously because they don’t drink alcohol but like the taste.....
  • I think it’s a personal preference. I like to strength train on an empty stomach and eat a protein filled snack right after, but if you feel your workout suffers on empty try an energy bar or supplement (if I’m doing a long run, I have a gu beforehand because I KNOW I’ll feel depleted if I don’t).
  • I also see reduction in cellulite with strength training.
  • Yay for happy endings! I am so glad you did what you felt was right, and it’s too bad that he reacted that way, but that’s great that you have been enjoying time with someone else!! Thank you for the update :)
  • Kayaking for two hours in a double kayak with the hubs :)
  • Not at all!! You were very nice.
  • The “not if but when” is so true with biking.
  • Never at the gym, nor have I ever seen it happen to others at the gym. Unfortunately while running outside men do call out sometimes, I’m assuming either the anonymity boosters their confidence or they aren’t the same types going to gyms.
  • To me that sounds like a total red flag, I would definitely not be going on a second date with him if I were in your position. This is mostly based on the fact that I wouldn’t be interested in someone that drinks that much in one sitting anymore, let alone on a first date! Edit: I’m not interested in anyone at all anymore…
  • Another vote for yoga, it’s the perfect recovery day activity. I personally love the 3 week yoga retreat videos on beach body one demand. The hubs and I do it almost every day. It helps with flexibility, mobility, balance, strength, and posture...we have personally seen these results, it’s been very rewarding!
  • I’ll be honest the more I do it the more I love it, feel free to add me if you want. Once you start being able to run more than a few seconds without walking it starts to feel amazing. If you never end up loving running that’s okay, but the fact that you are so certain you want that to be your thing makes me feel like you…
  • This is what I do as well. If you have a long stride you are most likely running pretty fast, try slowing down and taking smaller steps until your balance gets better on the treadmill- the practice will definitely improve this if you start small and work up to it. I too always use hotel gyms in lieu of running outside when…
  • I am so glad you are okay and were wearing your helmet, it must be so frustrating not knowing what happened. I hope your head feels better soon, and the road rash-I have had severe road rash before, it’s is not a fun healing process. Thank you so much for sharing this and reminding us all to wear our helmets, you are…
  • I honestly am a weirdo, and I love running both on treadmill and outside! It just really depends on what is easily accessible at the time (I travel a lot) but there isn’t really one I prefer over the other because they each offer different perks. I also don’t mind running on a track either, currently my most accessible…
  • My general practitioner specifically perscribed me this dose to stop my excess menstrual bleeding, so I would have to disagree...
  • I will be sober 2 years July 18th! Congrats on your own sobriety. Every day sober is a wonderful gift, it takes so much courage, strength, and commitment to make that change in our lives. It is amazing to see so many individuals share their stories :)
  • I once had continuous (menstrual) bleeding from the deprovera shot, my doctor perscribed me the same dose you are taking of ibuprofen to reduce/stop the bleeding. So in short, yes it is known to do this :) it may not work for everyone but it worked for me when my dr perscribed it! It’s not good to take that much…
  • Legs first, upper arms last. It’s so interesting how we all are different!
  • My husband and I have been enjoying the 3 week yoga retreat videos through beach body on demand for the last few months. I have also done a handful of classes in studios which are super fun, but I don’t usually go to those unless a friend suggests it. I don’t really have a favorite pose, but basically anything that…
