  • Another serial starter. Used to work at an Amazon fulfillment center. Did about 20,000 steps per shift. Now I got a work from home job an barely do a 1,000 steps, lol. I seriously packed on the pounds. Got back on MFP in April. Kinda been losing/gaining the same 5 pounds to this date. Really frustrating as I have a lot of…
  • More of a boredom snacker myself. I have about 100lbs to lose. I generally don't post things on my feed but whenever anyone else want to share I respond to them especially if a kind word or two or a pep talk is needed. Best of luck to you and goals. It says much about you when you chose a realistic 2 year timeline instead…
  • Have used BodySpace it's pretty decent. Currently using Jefit. Again, to get the most variety and features, gotta pay. But maybe the free version might be enough for you. It's not super expensive at $69 a year. They do have sales every now and then. Probably would have one on Memorial Day. I dig the variety and the feature…
  • Bookmarking this. I am dealing with frequent acid reflux. General practitioner suggested taking Prilosec for a whole month among other things such as losing the excess weight and avoiding certain foods. I'm a bit dubious about taking Prilosec for a month when the label reads don't take for more than 2 weeks. So I am trying…
  • I'm guessing the trainers are the ellipticals with moving arms you push and pull as you pedal/step and the walking is the ones without that you just step or slide your feet.
  • There is more surface area that needs to be cooled. Heavier bodies use more energy to move around. There's a thought that overweight generate more body heat.
  • Depends where I got it. From Whole Foods no more than 3 days if no obvious odor, slime, or discoloration. From a discount supermarket, maybe 1 day but usually none. Heh, I cooked up some chicken tenders that were about 5 days expired. In my defense, I froze it when I got it and cooked it later.
  • Can it be returned? I understand the feeling. There's an off-brand elliptical in my house collecting dust since the gyms open up. Maybe the wife might get inspired by the Peloton wife in the commercials. Never did get why it was so controversial.
  • Just dusted off the ol' Fitbit to participate in my job's version of the Biggest Loser - they call it the Biggest Winner - heh totally avoided that lawsuit with the name change there😉. I did over 10,000 steps on day one and saw my exercise calories shot up to 450. Because I kept MFP open for an hour I literally watch my…
  • Daily Logging is eye opener. Like you, for one week I just logged what I ate. My diet was just processed junk. It's a little better a couple weeks later since I been cooking more meals at home. My meals still mostly consist of carbs and fat but I upped my daily intake of protein from around 40-50g to closer to 100g.

  • Best of luck to everybody. I got at least 100 lbs to lose too. Started back up on MFP mid April with starting weight at 250lb. As of today, 5lbs down 95lb to go. I mainly workout at home since the only gym I can afford is Planet Fitness. I am not too keen about strength training machines. Right now, I exploring fitness…
  • Have you tried recently? On a whim, I tried to create a recipe 30 minutes ago. It worked. I probably spend a hour today to create a slew of recipes before it goes down again.
  • Yes. I have persistent heartburn. Doctor told me to lose weight, change the diet to avoid common trigger foods and take Prilosec. I'm trying the weigh loss but it's hard when your insides feel like it's on fire. Prilosec doesn't help and I'm too anxious to disregard the drug warning of continued use pass 14 days. I just…
  • I tried Daily Burn for a while several years ago and I suspect they didn't have many options. It just wasn't my jam. I'm not looking for "fun" workouts to get sedentary people moving. Yes, I am sedentary but I didn't felt like I progressed on their workouts. Many of them were dumbbell aerobic exercises with weights less…
  • Sweet Potatoes. No. Just No. Chitlin - brined pig intestines. Never it but it smells so awful that I never will. Pig's feet, cow tongues. Again, never tried them on their own put the names creep me out. The irony of it all is that there was brand of sausage that I used to like that had feet and tongues and hearts mushed up…
  • Second the Icelandic yogurt. But I buy Icelandic Provisions which I find creamier and less sour tasting than Siggis - especially the Fruit an Nut varieties. I also eaten grapes, apples, bananas. Hummus with crackers. I have nuts in moderation or try to... I found some recipes for no bake protein/snack balls. Which are…
  • Yeah. I haven't closed my diary since Friday. For the recipes I been trying, I take a guess using similar entries in the database. I hope the fix comes along soon. I just started this weightloss and the bugs is making it difficult to form a habit.
  • Congratulations. How far off is the wedding?
  • Took a look. Seems interesting. Might have done it if there wasn't a 45 minute outside workout component. 😕 I'm like a vampire... I avoid the sun like the plague to the point that I need Vitamin D supplements. Good luck with the challenge.
  • I agree with the above. Though, I been trying out a new tactic I leave enough calories in my diary for a protein shake at night before bed then I brush my teeth. Once the teeth are cleaned, nothing is getting pass my lips until the next morning.
  • Cold brew with sweet cream or flat white. If they happen to have the cookie crumble mocha frappe thingy, I'll get that if I am in the mood for liquid ice cream.

  • I really hope you find some help. I understand the feeling. For many years, I couldn't eat much of anything while on my period without fear of it coming back up or getting crazy diarrhea. Sometimes, I had to deal with the vomiting and diarrhea at the same time -those were "fun" mornings. If I had the money, I would've just…
  • Yes, when the blood work shows borderline high cholesterol, pre-diabetes and such, my PCP would make mention of it in passing. My PCP has recently retired. The new one I seen specifically said I should try losing a pound a week. It wasn't said in offensive matter just one of those "low laying fruit" advice. Now the PCP my…
  • Usually weekly on a Saturday or Sunday. Unless, I am on my cycle then I skip that week. I have done daily weigh-ins before but I would only pay attention to either the lowest day or the number on Saturdays or Sundays only. I don't really psych myself out with the scale unless it has been a month with no progress or loss of…
  • Hey. I can relate with the PCOS. It runs rampant along with diabetes on one side of my family. I'm pre-diabetic myself. I've tried intermittent fasting on other attempts at weight loss. I liked the lightness that I felt when fasting. I'll try that again once I get down to 200lbs or less. Right now, I got about 50lbs and a…
  • You can get a lot mileage from the free parts of MFP. I've used MFP extensively in 2017 and had some success just using the food diary function. Now, I'm back again and I'll little bit disappointed how many features they stuck behind a pay wall. I didn't need or use all the fancy premium features in 2017 but the recipe…
  • Giving back is a great way to commemorate your friend. I work at a College and honestly, it's the older students who happen to be some of the best. They've been there, done that and just want to take care of business, get that degree and make a living. Sending huggles and love your way. Hoping you can beat back depression…
  • I click to join. Not sure what to do... *Waits*
  • 3 in the morning for my veggie omelette. Maybe one or two for a snack in a pinch especially after a workout.
  • KK FTW! Especially when that Hot & Fresh sign flashes. The drive thru becomes a parking lot. I do love me some munchkins though.
