All I can say is, what a very insightful, well written post. Congratulations on the successes you've accomplished so far in your healthy lifestyle journey. Parts of your story really resonated with me, thank you soo much for sharing.

I have Sjogrens and yes, I have a difficult time losing weight while eating healthy and exercising. I've come to accept that I'll only lose maybe a pound a month.
-
I use NutPods. It only took about two cups to get used to the flavor.
-
I love coconut cream also. I usually drink my coffee black but sometimes like a treat. I haven't tried the cocoa but will now. Love the Whole 30!

Processed foods and cheese will make you swell and retain water so it could be water weight. Try adding spices and small amounts of olive oil or coconut oil to foods to give it more flavor. You can use ghee as well, it's delicious and really adds flavor, just a teaspoon will do.

You look awesome! May I ask your height?

I'm 100 percent convinced clean eating is the only way to go. Failure to follow it has taught me a tough lesson. I will gladly be your friend. I'm in the U.S. though.

My goal for March was to get back on track with healthy food choices and I successfully succeeded in the last week of the month.

It does help but you must continue to stay away from certain foods. I find it's even more imperative once I've lost weight because I'm not eating as much.

Hi Britt, I was not raised in a Christian household but came to know Jesus exists on Sept 12, 2005. My favorite fiction author is Francine Rivers, The Atonement Child, The Sin Eater and A Lineage of Grace. Also nonfiction, Corey Ten Boom...excellent. I'm into reading Christian biographies right now. Kenneth Bae, The…

I'm on my 3rd day and feel better already. In the past I could eat whatever I wanted without negative effects other than weight gain. As I've gotten older, I've developed adversions to all types of food. Processed, dairy, most whole grains, artificial sweetener and some natural sugars, coffee creamers etc.. I have acid…

I trained myself to drink black coffee. I have found though that most coffee is bad and needs the sweetener and/or cream. I find that a good organic coffee has no bitter after taste, therefore easier to drink black. My current favorite is Jim's Organic Costa Rican blend. A good, single origin, light roasted organic coffee…

I've had the same thing happen to me. I don't know the cause of your problem but I can tell you mine. I was eating all healthy foods but not getting enough calories. Couple that with age, loss of hormones and the foods I was eating were high on the acidic side. I went to the Dr and was told I had severe acid reflux. He put…

100DaysRealFood.com is a great website for clean eating with lots of recipes.

I've dealt with this for years and noticed that healthy fats and whole grains i.e. Sprouted grain breads, brown rice, quinoa etc are key. I make sure I always have a healthy fat for breakfast and 3 servings a day. 1tbsp of almond butter sticks with me a lot longer than an egg. Usually I can handle 2 servings of whole…

Try xylitol made with birtch not corn. It tastes just like sugar and is good for you. I buy it on Amazon.

I don't eat foods I don't like, luckily I like most foods. Here's my list: Broccoli-never liked it, I don't care how nutritionally good it is. Beans- kidney, black beans Carrots However I forced myself to stop eating foods I loved because my stomach can't take it- cheese (I had an addiction but it was the easiest thing I…

Good tips. I usually just watch my portions but have no idea how many calories I eat.

Toasted Ezekiel bread topped with almond butter and strawberries tossed with cinnamon.

My apologies, I meant sugar is the worst thing you can eat when depressed and tired. I hope you get a resolution.

Ask if you have a vitamin D deficiency. I had all the symptoms you're describing, caffeine in coffee started making my heart race, I was exhausted all the time and I think I was depressed. I do suffer from acid reflux as well and eating processed foods now makes me sick. I went on the BRAT diet and it took about 8 months…

I love it that you two are getting healthy together!

I followed a blog I found that was all about transitioning to 'real' whole foods. It really helped me, I hope you find it helpful as well: lots of delicious recipes as well. http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2012/09/25/recipe-whole-spelt-pumpkin-muffins-and-other-spelt-recipes/

nut butters, homemade muffins that are around 150 calories. Here's a great recipe for this time of year. http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2012/09/25/recipe-whole-spelt-pumpkin-muffins-and-other-spelt-recipes/

I'm mostly off sugar. I use a little birch xylitol (I order on Amazon, make sure it says 'birch'). I also will use coconut sugar and organic maple syrup for recipes.

I make my own tortillas and they are awesome. Try 100daysofrealfood.com website. She has recipes for corn and flour tortillas. You just need a tortilla press, I bought mine at Walmart for $12. Heres the flour recipe, she has a corn recipe too. http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2010/05/26/recipe-whole-wheat-tortillas/

Judy, my homemade pumpkin spice latte blows Starbucks off the planet, made with 'clean' ingredients.

"One ingredient foods from the produce and meat aisle (I am eating cheese and butter at the moment, but I don't really consider it clean). On top of that, grass fed, pasture raised, non-GMO, and organic as often as possible given my budget. So I also define clean eating as expensive eating." This is what I call clean…

Have you seen the website 100daysofrealfood.com. She has a lot of great ideas for families and some great recipes too. I love to cook. I'm dating a guy who's not really into the whole food thing and I've been eating this way for almost 2 years. Its getting really annoying trying please both myself and him, so much so that…
