  • Two things. I love sugary/sweet things. I don't run and play all day anymore. Boom, I hit highschool and the weight started adding up...I've gotten bigger and bigger the older I get. My 5 sons are all 20 months apart and the youngest is 6 mo. old. I've got to dig my heels in and start heading the other way.:noway:
  • I do all our grocery shopping and it is annoying sometimes the crap that is so much cheaper and lasts so much longer. But, I don't want to feed all those chemicals and preservatives to my family. I shop at Costco, it's like Sam's Club. I buy things that take forever to go bad in bulk, like rice, and dry beans. Those things…
  • Mine is open to friends, but it's mostly so we can borrow meal ideas, and know how nutritious the meal was. I love seeing what other people do with something as versatile as pancakes, or wildrice.
  • I use cooking base, hang on (checks fridge:)...Better Than Bouillon-organic, reduced sodium chicken base. It is very tasty and I can add salt if I want, although depending on what I do with the meat that I have with the rice, I may not have to. Basically, one tsp. = one cube of bouillon or one 8 oz. can of broth. I just…
  • This is a sore spot for me. It pains me that some of my friends are pregnant or nursing, and trying to lose weight by eating one, holy-heck of a lunch for 1500 cals and skipping every other meal!
  • The best carbs in the world are fruits and vegetables. Who in the world would gives those up...or ask their children to give them up?!
  • I am most curious about this. I have never heard this and wonder what you mean. I buy grain and mill it myself. It retains all the original fiber, and nutritious oils which would normally be stripped. Is there something else?
  • My ideal body weight is also 120. However, I wear a 34J, being that skinny would topple me over, lol!

  • Thanks, this had one recipe in particular that I want to try out. With single ingredients that I would already have in the house!:flowerforyou:
  • Actutally we don't buy packaged...much of anything. I mill my own grain so whole grain flour I've got in scores. I don't know what greek yogurt is. Is that different than regular yogurt? And I'm not afraid of fat...eating it that is. I'm more weirded out by chemicals, and modified foods.
  • I have done both, and am doing TurboFire right now. TurboJam has the same type of music. It is early 90's. There is more time to learn the moves, (a little more time, not a whole lot) Most people I know use TurboJam as an introductory to TurboFire. It is much faster paced. If you did TurboJam first you will already know…
  • One of my babies used to meow a lot. I loved it...the cat thought it was weird. He would look startled and come to investigate.
  • The hardest part for me is telling the kids I need time to exercise and it's really NOT something I can't wait to do everyday! So I vote for exercise!
  • Just a thought, but the Inuit people here in Alaska eat a HUGE amount of fat, I think I heard it was 85% of the traditional diet. They have less problems with diabetes and cancer than other people groups here. I would be more wary of the chemicals and engineered sweeteners, myself.
  • Eating fruit is ABSOLUTELY better for you than drinking juice. The natural sugars in the fruit attach to the fiber of the fruit and work together to fuel the body. So to answer you best, I would say if you LOVE orange juice and want it everyday, you should reach for the kind with pulp. It keeps a good amount of the fiber…
  • If you can get a chest strap for it, that would be better.
  • I had a watch hrm that was "cheap" and didn't come with a chest strap. I'm sorry to say that it bases calories burned by a math formula based on weight and age, maybe gender also. which is what this site does. It's really not much use. I have one with the chest strap now, from Wal-Mart that cost about $30. It's much…
  • Wow, that's intense. I think you need to work on your inner dialog a bit. It was hard to read your post and I'm sure you feel worse than you could actually wrote. Geez! Umm, I would think you should start with some quiet time. If your a Christian it would be devotions. Start focusing on the gifts in your life. The things…
  • Just my thought, the calories burned for cleaning are severely overinflated on this site. I have a hrm that I use for workouts so I know that I am not burning anything like what it says on this site. Although, if you wanted to wear your hrm, you can adjust the calories burned for yourself. It's doable.
  • It doesn't always happen, but I have had some friends that had the bypass and it really changed their personality. It's sad. But, I am sure that beauty is NOT only skin deep. It's very much a part of who you are. Keep positive and you will win in the outcome.:flowerforyou:
  • I just asked this question yesterday. Apparently there is a "breastfeeding mother" food that will give you negative calories. Sorry, to clarify. You can add breastfeeding as one of your foods and it will give you the extra calories you need for your food journal.…
  • I have been eating 1200 calories for months. No exercis at first and lost a couple of pounds. Then, I started exercising, and...didn't lose a thing. As you exercise you have to increase the calories you eat so your body doesn't store fat (starvation mode theory). As long as you always have a deficit of 500 calories in the…
  • LOL!! EWW!!
  • P.S. I love you hair!!
  • I lost 8 pounds the first week and a half. It's a lot of fun. And I got some refreshing meal ideas from the book. I'm good with it.
  • I will admit it, my babies have always been skinny. Maybe it's because I am always trying to lose the weight and don't go about it right. I have NO idea how many ounces I produce, because I have never been able to pump. Honestly the only way I can pump is to attach the baby to one side and try to balance him and the pump…
  • Are you familiar with TurboJam and TurboFire's Chalene Johnson? She's says that she still counts calories (measures her food) and she looks fabulous!
  • I suppose skimpy lingerie would work. You want to look good in that, don't skip your workout today!
  • "A wise man falls seven times, but rises up eight." I had just gotten to my healthy weight when baby Samuel came about. And here I am starting all over. I am so glad he's here and he's healthy and that's what I have to focus on, but it's time to lose this extra weight. No excuses. No going to the grocery store and buying…
