pasta serving sizes
I know I have seen this question asked before, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. The serving sizes in the database for pasta are when it's dry, right? Aside from the obvious, measuring it out and making just one serving...is there some conversion that can be used to figure out how much cooked pasta one is using. For…

That $30 chest strap HRM from Wal-Mart?
I just bought the Oregon Scientific SmartHeart heart rate monitor with vibration alert and tap on lens. Yeah, that whole thing was the name. I know I'm a cheap skate for buying it, but I need some help. I have read tha manual and can't figure out how to track calories burned while I'm exercising. I've got it set to where I…

nursing moms calorie question
I am wondering how many of the nursing moms are adjusting this 1200 calorie thing and how they are adjusting it. Do you manually go in and customize it to allow more calories? How many more? At 1200 my milk almost dried up so I am trying to figure this all out. I am doing TurboFire and use Chalene's formula for calorie…

healthy pancake recipe please?
I made pancakes the other day, from scratch. The recipe was "Basic Southern Pancakes." Later on I entered the recipe into a recipe analysis page, and had a mini heart attack. Just two pancakes was half my days allowance of cals, and I was over on sodium...just after breakfast. HELP!! Anyone with a recipe they could share?

Where's that blog about TurboFire??
There was a blog on here not to long ago...I wish the blogs had "search". It was a man who had been in the filming/test group for ChaLene Extreme and he was talking about gaining weight the first week or two after starting...Does anyone remember that? It would be great if that guy were on and saw this post. Anyway, I think…

Sodium question
I have been on this site for quite some time, and I know ya'll will help if you can so I'll shoot. I've been looking through my food journal and I usually consume about 500-1000 (I guess) mg of sodium a day. I know you don't want your sodium too high because of high blood pressure, but while working out and sweating...is…

Turbo Fire food
I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Turbo Fire dvds and booklets which should arrive next week. I wanted to get started on the 1st, and payday is coming early so I will be grocery shopping for the month before the nutrition guide/meal plan gets here. Can anyone tell me what kind of foods occur often on this meal…

Not really new
Hi all, I'm back after about 10 months hiatus! Baby Samuel is two weeks old and it's time to start journaling again. Funnily enough, I am back where I started last time...hopefully I will be just as successful.

YAY for stairs!
Sounds silly, but I just noticed something today. I wanted to get the Elmo hoodie for little Gavin so I ran upstairs (2 flights) to get it. I ran into the boys room and bent down to pick it up off the floor. And at that moment I realized that I wasn't out of breath. I don't know, but I got a kick out of it.

Body Image Conflict
Does anyone else have problems with body image after losing a significant amount of weight? For me, I am usually very pleased with my weight loss results. But sometimes, I get in the mirror and horrible thoughts leap into my brain. As I lose inches on my belly, the stretch marks leave a pruny effect (raisin belly). Today I…

What's your mattress?
We all know that sleep is essential for having the energy to workout. So I am wondering what kind of mattress are ya'll sleeping on and is it working out for you? Mostly I am curious if anyone has a Sleep Number Bed or a Memory Foam mattress...are they worth the hype???

Burger King Kids Meal
I have to admit that I LOVE fast food. I'm a good girl, generally, though and I hadn't had Burger King in about 6 months. Which is well before I started counting calories. So I decided to get a Kid's Meal...just a cheeseburger and fries with a (teeny-tiny) small chocolate milk-shake. OMG!!!!!!!!! I put it in the food…

A funny accident and good problem
I was taking the baby to his crib for the night, and as I climbed the stairs...my pants fell off. Oh well, it's a good problem, right?! The only thing is it reminded me of those darlin' lil ol ladies who can't keep their slip up.

Non-perishables?
Okay, so I was writing in another post and this question came to mind. I am in Alaska waiting for Mount Redoubt, the volcano, to blow. We have been told to stock non-perishable food products. So I wandered around the grocery store and was really blown away. Chicken in a resealable bag...that sits on a shelf for months?!…

Weird!
I'm a little weirded out here. I had my usual bowl of Cheerios w/ 2% milk for breakfast. Pizza Hut Sausage and Pepperoni for lunch. (Thought for sure this was a bunch of cals) and rice with steamed flounder and broccolli for dinner. (We just finished and I logged in.) Also had Vitamin Water and Gummy Bear Vitamins today...…

Pre-Pregnancy Weight
I am so stoked! I just hit my pre-pregnancy weight this morning. AHH, I love this site. It helps me so much to pay attention to what I'm eating. I never realized what an absent minded snacker I was until I started logging it. Next Goal: Pre-Marriage weight!!

efficient calorie counting question
I was wondering... Is it better to count up a certain number of calories per week, per day, or per meal? I'm asking this because I know binging is not good for the body. However I usually don't eat the 15oo calories I have been given per day. I know that sounds dumb, but if I eat until I'm not hungry it seems odd to try to…

Chinese recipes anyone?
Hi all, I'm kinda new around here and I love Chinese food. I usually cook out of an authentic Chinese cookbook (with Chinese writing on one side and English on the other). The main problem is when I go to enter it, I have no idea what I'm actually eating calorie wise. Does anyone have any tasty Chinese recipes complete…
